some of that fall off would telegraph different times to come. we weren't enjoying a rally like we were enjoying, that was not extending to everybody, bath nasdaq and s&p are doing fine, the nasdaq, not so in video, that has fallen deeper into correction territory, decline of 10% or more from its highs. someone else in some other stock is making up for that magnificent seven times fall. lauren: let's start with in video. the month of december is so tough for nvidia, down almost 7% in december alone. officially in correction territory, it is down 10%, that means correction from 148-88 on november 7. it still has a tremendous

market share in a i and it benefits from a i corporate spending, responsible for the multiplier effect. analysts say for every dollar spent on and nvidia chip, $8 to $10 is spent through the entire tech sector. no one is counting them out as some investors start to rotate into other chip names like broad.com which is on track for its best month ever, bernstein names them and nvidia as their top chip picks for the new year. there you have broad.com. look at the green arrow. tesla is down a bit today, a third of one% at 461 and it did touch, their price target is a street high of 515, the same as well. that 515 is up from previous price target of $230. the reason is there's a romance

a little more in the cloak room and we don't have to sit around worrying on wall street because all translate into our money. neil: nine straight dow down days a harbinger of things to come. you can assemble any sort of bearish argument and bullish argument if nasdaq is defying it but how do you feel about that? do you obsess about this? >> the statistic of down 9 days, we haven't seen this since the 70s is definitely sobering and a wake-up call but when you look at the numbers which is what we do and see that it is rotation that is taking place, unh and unitedhealth is a drag, we've seen chevron a drag, oil prices lowering expectation that there won't be as much demand. microsoft up, i love it, boeing is up.

rule out, should all be stocks, i am as bullish as anyone get, that to me could encourage frothy in us, that type of recommendation. >> between all that stuff. it is important to have a tiny bit of gold, diversification. bitcoin has $200,000, you could go to $500,000 but i worry about the last person who goes in is the person least likely to have a lot of money. neil: small part of portfolio. so there's a certain wisdom to that but it is a wild ride. >> it will be and diversification, the way to go and diversification is proven in this market when you see how the stocks are switching.

neil: you see we would see it spreading out. not talking about my waste. very sanguine advice. in the meantime i want to go to the wisconsin republican in the house, i don't want to get too into that, things will get dicey for your narrow majority in the house, speaker johnson is in trouble, avoiding a government shutdown could suddenly look unlikely, what do you think? >> the american people decided it was a mandate, in support of donald trump's policies, we are in this lame-duck session and we have chuck schumer in the senate and president biden at the presidential level and the concern right now in the conference is we don't want to give the money to spend overseas and bought take care of americans here right now.

we haven't seen the text of the current bill, the continuing resolution but i'm looking forward to going through that hopefully here today as we will make a good decision on it but i am concerned about the reckless spending that's causing the inflation in this country and we will take a look at it. neil: there are various measures, not that you are responsible for the parliamentary mechanisms to keep the lights on but a lot of your colleagues look at this and say we are talking a good game on getting spending under control and getting elon musk and vivek ramaswamy to address needless spending but it is tough to practice in earnest on a daily basis. what's happening now in the florida house is proof. >> these are tough decisions and it does take consensus to move things forward. i'm looking forward. i joined the doge coccus. looking forward to that. the people voted on reining in the reckless spending. this is a big topic, a difficult thing.

we will go through the text as soon as we get it and we will make a difficult decision. we have a lot of work to do and we need to reign in the spending. neil: tariffs are a big issue for donald trump when he assumes the white house again and a lot of your colleagues are worried about the fallout of that, inflationary fallout, donald trump doesn't ignore that possibility but it could boomerang as well. history has examples of that. are you worried about that? >> i'm not worried about it. the voters do as well. that's a great negotiating tactic with canada to secure the border, to stop the deadly flow of drugs so it is a tactic, i look at it as a smart tariff to negotiate and to negotiate things in our favor and we need to focus on our country first. neil: of the other side doesn't

cave and respond to that, then they have tariffs on us. in the back-and-forth, all of a sudden you've got problems. you don't see that happening? >> i don't. it comes down to leadership and strength. i believe in this country, we need to have the strongest leadership. i'm looking forward to having a strong leader like donald trump and that is what we need and it comes down to those negotiations. we need to do what is right for this country and i believe in donald trump's policies. neil: hope you have a merry christmas. congressman, they've got to cobble something together in the next few days to avoid the shutdown and pave the way in early january for the speakership phot which seems to be going in congressman johnson's favor. there are no guarantees. meanwhile, taking a look at tiktok, there was a time donald trump was advocating shutting it down. he has met with the tiktok leader and maybe not so into shutting it down after this.
