business-friendly administration if including tax cuts and and tariffs that will encourage businesses to set up shop right here in the united states. this year the majority of americans said yes to four more years of donald trump, but the media had a meltdown unlike anything we've seen before over trump's resounding victory. and and remember this? >> when it comes to inflation, when it comes the lowering costs, that is a priority for him. going to secure the border and do the work. we're, certainly, doing a rot more to secure the border. we have taken unprecedented action oh the past year -- over the past year behalf. the border is not open. we're doing everything that we can. the president believes no one is above, is above the law, and the president met the moment talking about how no one is above the the law here. the president expect vice president believe that no one is above, above the law, right? jason: we are taking a look back

ends, and the restoration of our country begins. cause -- [cheers and applause] the united states is now an occupied country, but it will soon be an occupied country no longer. jason: joining us now from the congressional border security caucus, arizona congresswoman debbie lesko. all right, trump, he's got a big agenda, is and he laid it out. but let's start with the border. what kind of roadblocks do you think they're going to throw in front of donald trump to get done what he promised to the american people? if. >> well, first of all, i want to say it's going to be a great new year with president trump in there x. he said he's going to secure the border, and i believe him because he's done it before. but the democrats are going request to do everything and anything they can to to try to stop him because that's what they do. i mean, biden for four years has basically had an open border. we had lawlessness, and with

trump back in there and the people that he's choosing to secure the border, i know we're going to have a secure border, and i'm excited about it. jason: so in order to get that done, democrats have said there need to be legislative changes, but i've always believed that if they'd just enforce the curve law, we would have a secure border. that means if you come in between a port of entry and you to do so illegally, you're to be detained and and deported. and -- but it's going the take some political will to get that done. do you think congress has the political will to back up the president as he actually does this? >> i do believe. in the house we passed h.r. 2 in the senate past. the senate never picked it up. so i'm hoping now with the nating with in the republican -- senate being in the republican majority that we will have it through legislation and through executive orders. i think trump's going to go back to building the wall, returning

the remain in mexico policy so that when people ask for asylum, they stay in a different country instead of coming into the united states. in more of this flying mass amounts of people every month from different countries directly into our country. no more of these venezuelan gangs that are going around raping kids, murdering people. i mean, we're going to have law and order, and that's what the people wanted. that's what they roted -- voted for, and that's what president trump will give them k and that's what the republicans will give them. jason: yeah. the president promised this. it was a temperature-tier issue -- top-tier issue, as it should, and i do believe trump will actually follow through with this. he's let the canadians know, and and he's really let the mention mexicans know that they've got a tariff coming their direction in the form of 25% if they don't do that and they don't take care of the border. that should be enough of a bludgeoning tool, you would

think, to get the mexicans' ages that they too need -- attention that they too need to slow down this funnel that is going into the united states. do you think that's going to work? >> well, i think so. i think it happened last time when trump was the president. he a managed to decrease the number of illegal immigrants that were crossing. they had all kinds of innovative things. steven miller is going -- stephen miller is going to be his policy adviser again, and stephen miller is a huge border security hawk. so i think it's going the happen again. i really have faith in president trump. he did it before, he's going to do it again. now he has a republican majority in the house and the senate. i really think things are going to get done, and you see how the canadian president, prime minister, talked to him, how mexico president talked to him, and now he wants to threaten to put a 10% tariff on china because of all the fentanyl that's coming into america. i mean, he just knows how to get things done. i trust president trump.

renewal in all of american history. maybe of global history. the golden age of america, i call it, it's begun. so it's the golden age of america, and that's what it's going to be. jason: from wall street to to washington, optimism has grown after trump's sweeping victory. americans feeling hope after living with rampant if inflation can and a crippling increase in household essentials. joining us now, americans for tax reform president grover nor if quist. grover norquist. thanks so much for joining us tonight on "the evening edit." you've been a huge champion through the decades, as long as i've known you and seen you from afar, you have been a huge, you know, let's lessen government. let's starve the beast. we've got to have less government in our lives. but is there a single policy out there that is the most key in your mind to fixing the economy and moving this country forward?

>> well, we need to get the trump tax cuts from 2017 to be made permanent, take them out another 10 years. that's the president's top agenda. we need to do it now so that businessmen and women asking themselves can we hire another truck, should we employ if two more people, you need to know now what taxes are going to be a year from now and two years from now if you're going to make those decisions. so we need that tax cut x. there are a number of things the president wants to add to his previous accomplishments; taking the corporate rate to 15% which would make us competitive with china, more competitive with the rest of the world, taking a look at getting rid of the inflation tax, in the taxing inflation on capital gains. the president wanted to do that during his first term. a lot of good things he was working on. not taxing tips. he's made it very clear that's on the list of things to add. getting rid of the death tax is not only important as a

republican issue i, but senator thune, the new leader of the senate, it's his leading issue i that he's been working on over many years. we got rid of hutch of it with the trump tax cuts but not all of it -- much of it. there are a lot of serious, pro-growth tax cuts that will bring down the deficit by growing the create economy strongly. the economy strongly. jason: well, grover, you know that that president biden, he tried to fool america with this so-called inflation reduction act. shame on the democrats for trying to name it like that. let's go back to memory lane earlier and look at this. >> yes.s supposed the call -- supposed the call the inflation reduction act, remember in and they admitted it was a scam. it's not a name because it had nothing to do with inflation except raising it. it was really a way of getting money for the green new scam. jason: the president, president trump's right on that, isn't he?

>> he is. it was just a massive spending bill. it was a big mistake. it made things worse. you know, prices jumped up 20% during just the beginning of his presidency. they continue to go up. it is a very real problem. we need to bring spending down, and that's why president trump's idea of bringing in elon musk and vivek in to take a look at everything can and to get the republicans in the house and senate to hold hearings and to to subpoena information so he can fine out from these bureaucrats what's really going on. there's a lot of money to be saved for people, and the deregulation and the changes on permitting, these will tremendously help economic growth. and and we have several years of work ahead of us. jason: yeah. and, grover, you know, to hear the democrats say it, oh, the tax cuts from president trump, they were so bad for us. but as i recall, when he cut

taxes, revenue to the treasury actually went up because the economy was buoyed. it was thriving and that sort of thing. and so if you can do that and cut spending, hen you actually have a -- then you actually have a formula that will work. >> absolutely. there's a lot of spending that can come down. a lot of it spending that biden put together hasn't actually gone completely out the door. he's been trying to get it out the door before he leaves, but we need to claw some of that back. that would be a big saving. and some of the tax credits can be eliminated. that's just really spending. there's a lot to be done but not just in washington, in the 50 states. there are ten red states that are a phasing their income taxes to zero. the republican governors is have said we're going to zero and begun the process in north carolina, iowa, west virginia, kentucky. i mean, they're really moving forward on phasing their income taxes to zero. and january 1st, 2025, the

[applause] >> the president's not going to pardon -- will he pardon his son? he said he would not pardon his son. >> e said i'll abide by the jury decision. i will do that and not pardon him. >> will you accept the jury's outcome, their verdict, no matter what it is? >> yes. >> have you ruled out a pardon for your son?

>> yes. jason: joining us now, former arkansas governor, soon to be ambassador mike huckabee, and fox news legal an list gregg jarrett. above -- governor, ambassador, all around good guy huckabee, let's start with you with what was, a -- perhaps, the most egregious lie. there's a long list there. what about this so-called preliminary pardon of joe biden's son, hunter. in your opinion, i mean, is this an admission of guilt for all the bidens? how to do you take this? >> you know, you don't pardon people who are not guilty. they go through the appeal process. but with let's be fair. if you had a chance to do something wonderful for your son, you might do it. you won't lie about it and tell everybody, oh, no, i would never do that, and then turn around and do it. i think he should have been honest and said, i don't know, let me see how this plays out. that would have been an honest

answer, but he can't do that. he's been lying for years. these lies have just gotten worse, not better. and he flat out lied when he said, no, i will not pardon him and then turned around and did it. i don't think his own staff was even aware of it. i drought that karine jean-pierre or as nashville calls her, cringe jean-pierre, i don't think she had a clue this was about to go down, and it was really an unfortunate way for him to end his presidency, by a lie. jason: yeah. i mean, we're just turning the corner into the new year. he still has 20 more days and who knows? i mean, he's already kind of setting records with the number of pardons, gregg jarrett. i mean, and some of the people on those lists, i mean, these are some incredible -- i mean, i don't see any justification for the people that have gotten those pardons. >> no, not all of them are

remotely justified. but i love the clips you just played because the litany of biden lies are truly breathtaking, jason. not just lying over and over about not pardoning his son, but biden lied habitually about his family's influence-peddling racket, his own involvement in it claiming he never talked with his son about his business dealings, never met or spoke with his overseas partner partners, that hunter never made money in china, that the laptop was russian disinformation. those are proven, demonstrable lies. but he lied about so many other things, jason, inflation, the price of gasoline, immigration, tax rates, his own classified documents scandal. he lied about domestic violence and covid vaccines. he lied about student loan forgiveness and afghanistan. the list of fact-checked lies is almost endless.

and biden used those lies as he crashed the u.s. economy, opened the floodgates the millions of illegals, all of which i think has cemented his septic legacy as the worst president in american history bar none. and that's saying something. jason: yeah. governor, follow up on what gregg was saying. i mean, the -- what was permeating out of this white house whether it be karine jean-pierre or alejandro mayorkas, the secretary of homeland security, i mean, for a long time they kept telling us the border's secure, they had operational control, that the inflation was just transitory. i mean, the number of things that came out of this white house is pretty stunning. and it seemed to permeate through the rest of his spokesif people and some of the people in their key positions. >> you know, jace, if you lie about little things, it's easier to lie about big things. what gregg just outlined was a

litany of big things that joe biden lied about. but if you listen to his entire career, he's always lied about little things, that he taught for four years. he didn't. or that he was raised in a pert if rican community. he budget. that he had 1.2 million miles on amtrak. not so. i mean, it was the all the little things. every time he went to, was it a synagogue? well, it was the jewish people who raised him. if he was in puerto rico, a community there, they raised him. if he was with a black church, turns out that he was raised by people in a black church too. i've never seen a more religious man in my life run for president. he's covered the full spectrum. i mean, he's a part of every religion there is, and they all helped raise him. and i would say if that's the case e r, they did one lose key job. [laughter] jason: gregg, real quickly, we have a very short amount of time, but i think the idea that he was vigorous to, that nobody

racism in this campaign. jason: oh, what a night. following president-elect trump's resounding victory powered by a strong economic agenda, media anchors and pundits erupted in emotional meltdowns, tearful monologues and furious rants against the american electorate. let's welcome seattle talk radio show jason rantz and fox news contributor joe coen -- concha. all right, joe, let's start with you because, remember, we can take three hour this is to do this, but what was your best of the best in terms of the media melt? >> well -- meltdown? well, let's start with what you just played there, jason, the night and day after the election. so let's get this straight. kamala harris lost because of racism and sexism? that's funny, because when she ran in 2019 for the presidency where he didn't even get to 2020, democrat voters rejected

her resoundly. she didn't get one delegate, never got to iowa. so does that make democrat voters also racist and sexist? i mean, this is 31 flavors of stupid. she lost because she was a profoundly horrible candidate. she lost because they waited six weeks for her to do one interview after she became the democratic nominee. but to answer your question, i think the madison square garden rally, which i was at for fox, you know, i left it and said, boy, what a crowd. i mean, that's the happiest crowd since i've seen in cancun many in '93, my last spring break. [laughter] and then i watch msnbc, and they're saying it's a nazi rally even though there were four democratic conventions held there over the years. that was a huge one. i think the al smith dinner and kamala harris blowing that off and sending in that cringe video with molly shannon, that was horrific as well. and, obviously, "60 minutes" and the fact that they will not

release a transcript of an interview they did with kamala harris where 26 minutes of tape apparently no one's allowed to see, and now donald trump is suing. yeah, those are my three biggest moment. jason: now, jason, i went to joe was he made -- because he made the effort to dress up the way he did, and we appreciate that here at "the evening edit." [laughter] but nonetheless, we want you to weigh in on the media a meltdowns because there were a lot of them. >> there were a ton. and overall, my favorite has just been watching "the view," and i've never ever said that about "the view." but seeing tv's dumbest lawyer, sunny hostin, just completely lose it, and i don't even know if you can call this a meltdown. i feel like her reaction indicates he needs some serious mental health help. this is someone who has reacted in the worst kind of way but also epitomizes why democrats are doing as poorly as they're doing and, frankly, why the

media continues to earn less and less of our trust. this is someone who argues in bad faith. this is someone who frames stories in the most horrific ways. and whether it's the her or anyone else on msnbc or in "the new york times," the way they talk about the voters and assume that this had something to do with racism and sexism, that can only come from a place where you just don't like the american people. you don't like this country. and, of course, for the last four years we've heard over and over and over again progressives founded on white supremacy. they don't have a respect for this country, and it shows in the way they talk about its people. if. jason: and they never bothered to figure out who the american people were, what they're about. i would argue, joe, that donald trump's victory was because he was the best candidate with the best policies in place. but it was also about how bad vice president kamala harris

was. have a watch of this and listen to this, and i want to get your reaction after this. >> all right. >> under a harris administration, what would the major changes be and what would say the same -- stay the same? >> sure. i mean, i'm obviously not joe biden -- >> i know. [laughter] >> and so that would be one change. we're also different people, and i will bring those sensibilities to how i lead. this is not a time to worry about modesty becauses this is, you know, obviously you've got to let people know who you are. jason: i mean, even the softball interviews, joe, they were terrible. >> yeah, jason, those were t-ball,s actually, with a beach ball on the tee. the fact that youd had kamala harris be the first democrat candidate in history go on "the view," and then blow that interview, she looks up and says

i can't think of a thing. and at that moment, i go, this election is over. she wants to be the change candidate but still would not do one thing differently from joe biden? that dog don't hunt. jason: that's why she didn't flip not even one county. not even one. thank you, joe concha, jason rantz. joe, really appreciate you getting dressed up. it made all the difference. stupid things. if a child came to a parent and said, i want to do this, no, absolutely not. we're not wasting our money on this. yet the government will fund anything. when you have two individuals like this and you have democrats that are in this impossible position now, when they bring it to light and they show that this is where the government is spending your dollars, to democrats really want to sit there and defend this type of spending? now look, for far too long republicans and democrats they've been looking the other way when there's these big bills that come together and everybody throws in their pork barrel spending that helps somebody they know or helps somebody in their district. and i think now they're in this new world where the american people are saying enough already, and these two individuals are willing to go to war to protect tax dollars of all americans is so it went waste on these pork projects. so i think democrats are in a bad spot, i think some rino republicans, by the way, who love spending money on pork barrel projects are in a bad spot, and that's good for all
