10:04 am
this comes as one pro-palestine group in new orleans is planning a procession for palestine on monday. brian brenberg joins me, great to have you here. this is at the very very least insensitive, is it not? brian: it goes beyond insensitive. within hours of a murderous terrorist attack these people go to times square to protest, they celebrate evil. that's what they do. they love disorder and chaos, that is who they are. the good thing about all this is in november, america said we are not going to stand for it. we are done with this, done with these people, they don't have the following you think they do, they have no moral standing whatsoever and donald trump is going to put together a national defense team and
10:05 am
security team to make sure the stuff they love that they celebrate, get on the streets and hoot and a holler about, that stuff is done and we start to draw a line between real justice and injustice, not the kind of stuff they are talking about all the time. ashley: all right. let's move on to politics, 12:00 pm eastern, house lawmakers are going to vote on a speaker for the new congress and decide whether or not mike johnson gets to keep the gavel. here's what the speaker said ahead of the vote. >> i think it is going to be okay. we will have one no vote. i think we get it done on the first round. i'm hopeful for that. we've got to stick together. we will be operating with the smallest margin in us history for the first hundred days of congress and perhaps longer into the year so it necessitates every single republican as diverse as the caucus is can put aside their personal preferences and work together for the team.
10:06 am
ashley: can republicans stick to get a? does he have the votes? brian: that is why they did the vote, find out if he has them. the best guy should lead in the house. i don't know who else they are talking about to do that. trump, the most popular guy in the republican party has said i want johnson. who else are you going to pick at this point? may be a name comes forward and if that person is better fine but these guys have an agenda to get done. americans didn't vote for a soap opera in the house, they voted for policy to get done and these guys better deliver. of trump wants johnson & johnson can't get the job done do you think trump is going to wait around for him to fail? he is not the guy who sticks with people who can't do the job so let's see what happens but nothing beats results. that is what people expect.

ashley: they have a strong mandate from the voters, great stuff as always. we will be watching you on "the big money show" right here on the fox business, the smiling guys themselves, back to the markets, 36 minutes into the second trading day of the new year, we are up across the board, nasdaq up 1.4%. let's bring in eddie ghabour, can we go, what do they call it, the rrr the hat trick? can we re-created in this year? >> i think it will be a tale of two stores, we come into january very bullish but concentrated in mega tech names and out of the areas that are bearish like the

staples in real estate but i think the set up unfortunately is for mega tech a decent size corrections sometime starting in the first half of this year because of the fact that inflation is going to reaccelerate and take the 10 year note to 5% or higher. i think we will get off to a good start but we need to be ready for a correction. we will be de-risking and selling everything we've been buying for the last several months sometime in the first half of this year and looking to buy it back towards the end of the year, 2025 you have to be very nimble because there's a lot of head winds this new administration has to deal with. ashley: the mega tech stocks take a step backwards. any other sectors of the market that could fill the gap potentially? >> if you look at things like
10:09 am
housing, healthcare, staples, things that are interest rate sensitive that have been challenged, we are so concentrated on these tech names that if we have a correction sometimes this year it will bring everything down where you want to rotate, defensive names if that scenario plays out. right now we are not rating for what's going on down the road but we are making a clear we are making some changes because i think the fed made a mistake by cutting rates as much as they did. the dollar and the bond market has been clear where some of the signals are getting us. ashley: where does the inflation come from? partly from donald trump's policies, tariffs potentially? >> i don't think it will come from the tariffs which i think it's coming from acceleration of growth, the fed is putting stimulus and the economy that's not in a recession and you look at commodity prices as well,

look at oil, oil is continuing to trend up, food costs are going up. this whole narrative that inflation is coming down or dropping like a rock is not accurate in my opinion. ashley: great stuff as always, thank you for joining us on this friday. come in, lauren, you are looking at some of the movers beginning with constellation energy. ashley: the nuclear power plant, yesterday it was higher by 8%, two days in strong gains after $1 billion in government contracts to supply power for more than a dozen federal agencies. pulte home is up, wedbush upgraded the homebuilder gives them an outperform rating and the stock going up 25% in the new year. rivian delivered 51,000 for the year but big news is the supply-chain is functioning normally again.
