days. liz: yeah, the tech market, the stock market and the breaking news area here, heart breaking live pictures we need to show you right now, charles, of pacific palisades, california. five major fires are burning out of control throughout the state and turning deadly and what you've seen here going to take the full screen and it's absolute devastation. this is an area in pacific palisades right now where you see the smoke and fire in the background and cars and complete burned out structures. you can't even tell if that was a store or a home. pacific palisades of course right up against the pacific ocean. it's the area right before malibu and just very close to santa monica, this is obviously just a terrifying picture you see. we understand two victims from the fires that have now destroyed more than 1,000 homes and businesses, two dead at the moment.

forecasters say the biggest problem obviously is the winds. they have been clocked at 100 miles per hour in the eaton fire and they've sent embers flying in the distance of three to four football fields and it's of course then igniting more of the fire. we're going to take you live to our reporter on the west coast for breaking developments in just a moment. but first, we're also watching the markets closely here and ces in las vegas and about an hour ago, they were all green and federal reserve released minutes from the december meeting and showing the federal reserve members were undecide on the pace of rate cuts and going to call the markets undecided at the moment and dow is up 31 and down 200 and we've got s&p up two points earlier and low of the session down 34 and nasdaq down 17 points and it had been losing about 181 points and the

little bit overvalued here and how are you judging the overvaluation of the s&p 500. if you look at treasury ands look at specifically? >> sure. great question and typically going to look at forward earnings yield take the reciprocal of forward pe ratio and getting a yield and that right now is at 25 times is 4%. and then we compare that to the ten year triple yield, which right now is 5.7. historically those two numbers will be on top of each other. the thing is we know valuation is not a timing tool and say what you and dutch were talking about were watching momentum. so if you've got an expensive market that still has a lot of

momentum, continue to ride it. once that momentum looks like it's slowing down or potentially breaking down, that's our signal to say, okay, time's up. let's move to the sidelines. liz: yeah, the 10-year yield is about almost 4.7% and that will be a nine month high and that's interesting to see and it's good, dutch, to let people know how you and jack and the big market gurus here are valuating stocks, but you look through a different prism, do you not? you're kicking stocks like snow flake. >> yeah. liz: snowball, snow flake. >> yeah, we like to talk in the old days available stocks and individual companies and how well they're doing. certain sectors are always going to have wind and sales and the best stocks in the sectors doing well and you have to look at what the market looks like and jack is absolutely and break
