businesses, people's homes all over the place and that's why fire crews are racing and trying to take advantage of better conditions over the weekend to prevent it from spreading to more areas. right now the concerned about brentwood and other highly populated area of the mandeville we are seeing a lot of airdrop, water different fire retardant to create a barrier but the big concern is strong winds coming back later today and getting worse tomorrow, we're talking about 50 mile-per-hour winds but it can get up to 60 or 70. not as bad as when things started last week was 75 up to 100-mile an hour gusts, part of the reason these fires were so prolific. officials say embers can travel up to 2 miles from the spot of an original fire potentially starting a new one, so many questions about if california is prepared for the next round of wind. officials say no the last press conference, they will be prepared for the wind and water, we saw issue specifically here

pacific palisades. fire crews running out of water, they did not have enough they only had a few tanks, they had millions of gallons but so far they had to bring in dozens and dozens of these huge water tankers where we've seen firetrucks refill but again people starting to digest this disaster when you see those aerial shots and take in comedy homes you start to realize how long this is going to take to clean things up. of course the death toll keeps rising, tragically up to 24 people dead and more missing. on top of that we have law-enforcement dealing with looters, we even heard stories of people trying to dress up like firefighters to gain access to the evacuated communities people coming from other states trying to burglarize some of the homes that are still standing so the national guard is still here trying to help out with that. it's been in all front effort as volunteers and other fire

>> a little bit but not overly so, this is reminding everybody of 2022 when we had a fed that was intent on fighting frankly runaway inflation and yields going higher nobody knew the stopping place back then for either yield or inflation. today is not that problem. we still had disinflation should rethink as a cop on yields in the 475 - 5% range in the tenure and there is a chance that a hike rates but that's a likely proposition at this point the backdrop even though the markets trading like is 2022 the economic is far from it. >> we have a strong consumer and businesses that are putting money hand over fist frankly, margins are expanding we have a massive a.i. tailwind of productivity, something that we haven't seen in about 25 years and we have a fed that has been a little bit confusing and not being helpful but we don't have this crash economy or stock

market where we don't know where the end is on inflation or rate hikes, this is a place that were debating whether the fed is going to cut once or twice this year were not debating whether the fed is going to hike eight or nine times this year. maria: investors are looking ahead to the fed's first policy meeting of the new year happens in two weeks, the fed is expected to cut rates one time this year after friday strong jobs report i know were not expecting the federal reserve to raise rates, how do you explain the very telegraphed federal reserve telling us they're going to cut rates and real rates going higher. >> this is a problem. part of the confusion is the fact in the last fed meeting the fed people said essentially inflation risk is to the upside, last meeting in september everybody says inflation is balance, the only thing that

will have a big selloff that continues intact? >> the stock standstill. you're looking at 20 or 30 or 51 100% earnings growth for some of the a.i. names over the next 12 months. if the stocks are running in proportion with the earnings growth getting it cheaper and cheaper. my take away from nvidia presentation at ces is the bear argument of hardware for you by nvidia gpu and use that for a long period of time it's totally and completely erroneous. every year the demand for compute, the power needed by these computers to process all the data needed for a.i. is growing annually on accidental basis. if you think about and all the data in the beginning of the history of time and the end of the year 2003 every two days.

in a few years it'll be every day that every 12 hours and six hours in the computing power need to sort through that as the data gets bigger and the computation gets bigger and keep growing and growing in nvidia's chips and more powerful at the same rate. you're at a point where the latest chips you can get the same compute at a third of the cost or you can triple the amount of compute for the same cost. how do it department sit by and let the competition do everything faster, the upgrade cycle is going to be more consistent with the longer run in the most bears analysts on wall street think for nvidia in the amount of it budget and global corporate for a.i. is going to increase at a must enter much faster clip and no larger market because of the pressures that were getting in the dollar strength with rates going up, the key difference between 2017 and 2025 as the u.s. is in better shape

month cr include $100 billion for disaster aid in 29 billion for fema's disaster fund but were talking about the cost of the wildfires at $150 billion how does that play into your plan to execute president trump's agenda? >> is going to be challenging there's no doubt about it that is a huge bill i was on the city council and i used to survey folks all the time and i asked what is the most important thing to them, public safety and roads to a lesser extent parks and that was the role of minnesota government. using california the talent is severely lacking and so are the priorities. when you hear stories about state of oregon sending 60 firetrucks, i have not confirmed but they had to go to sacramento to get emissions testing and get them to l.a. where they're needed, this is woke on wild tough i think hopefully california voters will demand that the minnesota government

don't have abundant water supply in iraq shooting water the people that are building those homes in the city planners not putting in green areas or building fire breaks in the farmers and ranchers out of the state of california guess what you don't have the animals to sit there and graze. accommodation of the proper land management would solve all of the problem. what's going to happen just like they've done for the last 20 years california is going to run to the federal government and they can ask for money. i think this time hopefully president trump and the republicans in congress will say were not good to do the same thing again. california is going to need a lot of money. >> this is what warren davidson from ohio told us last week they don't think the president is going to allocate more money to california without a promise that policies change. you heard devin nunes this is

about the climate change agenda. because of the climate change agenda nunes said they didn't allow the timber industry to log and cut down trees and they didn't allow the farmers to get the grazing and they didn't store water. now we have people losing everything. buildings burned to the ground. >> a year ago as you remember you and i sat down and talk to doubles of all places where you and i were trying to inject some truth into the climate change agenda. one of the projections that i made and i'm very sorry to be right about this tragedy is that eventually voters in places like california and across europe would come to understand that the climate change agenda would actually cost not just their livelihoods but their lives which is really important for us to understand we usher in the wonderful new administration which will have the greatest cabinet in history, if we have cabinet secretaries like an interior secretary like doug

nominees. >> after count my chickens before they hatch but i think they need to go to the hearing process, the good get beat up by the legacy media and the left as well but i think the votes are there and i've interviewed these people one-on-one and they have been great communicators and great leaders, the very accomplished. somewhere outside of the box but i think we have the votes. >> what do you think, outside of the box is what president trump wanted, he wanted to drain the swamp he wanted outsiders. do you think 70 like pete had checked for defense secretary, does he get confirm? >> he does get confirmed is the most awesome defense secretary in our history, the reason why what i hear from hundreds of rank-and-file servicemen and women there fed up with business as usual in washington. we need to develop lethal efficiency in the pentagon. we simply haven't done that in spite of the heroism and sacrifice in the american servicemen and women.
