issues to get real leadership again and they'll get it today. stuart: okay. steve forbes walked into the studio on a big day, shall we say. inauguration day. what are you expecting over the next four years, steve? >> i think there's going to be obviously setbacks along the way and getting off to this kind of start is essential. the left is going to fight this in the courts and the like, but what trump announced today ryan higgins not announced but indicated on tariffs they're going to tell you measuringed approach is reassuring to the world. a big thing coming up is what decision he makes on tax cuts. do you do it in a big omnibus bill or split it up? very, very critical with margins in congress. the key thing is that to get these pro growth things in place, especially a big fat tax cut, a beautiful tax cut, i think it's setting the stage for any kind of set backs and china will test them and putin will test them and so it's not going to be done overnight, but the

fact of the matter is he has an authority he didn't have in 2016, and that make as huge difference. the world sees him differently today than they did eight years ago, and europe is shadow, never was very much of a threat, i mean of strength but a shadow of what it was eight years ago and looking, japan looking for u.s. to do well economically, and they'll follow suit. if the programs work, they'll do what they did in the 80s after reagan with the tax cuts, they'll put their own in. stuart: tax cuts obviously are really important for the economy and the markets. tomorrow, it'll be the president, president trump meemeeting with house house and senate republicans and got to nail down the house republicans and ensure absolute unity. that's the only way to get the stuff through. >> that's right. stuart: how do you do with it a razor thin majority of republican s? >> not just with negotiations with the house republicans. it'll be public opinion behind him. ronald reagan often said the

best persuader in capitol hill was heat of public opinion. if he goes out and tells republicans, you're representatives are dragging their feet. they're going to feel the fire of public opinion, and that's the obstructing cerumen way they're going to get it. that's how reagan got it through in the early '80s when the establishment was against it and same kind of thing here. he'll turn to the public and support them in critical moments getting a big bill through. not enough to preserve a status quo of 2017 tax cuts and has to have new ones to get the economy moving and tariffs down the road. >> if he doesn't get tax cuts and if the tax cuts from trump is the previous administration are rescinded and a disaster for the market, isn't it? and the economy? >> we can see that through and play that game, but that's the lowest hanging fruit out there and unity amongst his constituents and to steve's earlier point, the court of public opinion is so in his

favor right now, you think about what happened with tiktok, a generation of voters are now on his side. my daughter told me last night, one of the first trends she saw on tiktok going live again was people saying the liberalism leaving their bodies. stuart: really? >> yeah, it's amazing and fascinating. stuart: whoa. >> what does that look like? stuart: brian, this is for you, you've been watching and seeing the biggest names in technology attending inauguration, jeff bezos, elon musk, tim cook and on and on. a lot gave money for inauguration fund. what did they get in return? >> it's the third time someone references mr. forbes comment on this, but those guy os reason the stage, one, because they'd like to be in good with donald trump but two, they're on that stage because they know public opinion has moved against a lot of luisa torr cal policy on speech and censorship and don't want to be on the wrong side of

the american public. donald trump is on the right side of the american public on that one. they're there and if you'd have told me eight years ago that zuckerberg, bezos, and others on that stage, they would have done something wrong to end up in that spot. stuart: how do you feel about trump issuing a new crypto coin? it'll dollar sign trump after that and going to be valued at $10 billion. brings in $10 billion or more hawaii do you think? >> we're at the front end of the biggest era of innovation and currency and like commodity holdings that we've maybe ever seen in our lifetime but maybe ever. now, my buying that i'm not an owner of the trump coin, okay. i love the fact that we're in a world where you can issue these things and we can start sorting out which currencies make sense and the one big failure in all

this is the federal reserve has caused people to lose confidence in the american dollar. stuart: steve forbes, what did you think of an incoming president that issues a coin on which he might make a great deal of money? i don't know how he gets the money or when, but he could get a ton of money hawaii do you think? >> gee, i wish i thought of that when i ran for president. [ laughter ] >> could have been rich. stuart: address the ethics of this. >> i wish he wouldn't do that and doesn't have to do that in terms of the future. he's got a lot to do with the whole bitcoin, crypto coin thing anyway. so i wish he'd -- he doesn't need to do it. in terms of currency, nay son's point is absolutely right. jason's point is absolutely right. rising and real alternatives in the next few years to the u.s. dollar and paper money from other governments. you're going to see a real reaction from the empire of the

both partis. we thank the committee and capitol staff and law enforcement who worked so hard over the last year, and especially the last three days. you've done a beautiful job and yuppies have shown grace under pressure. our theme are enduring democracy, the presence of so many presidents and vice presidents here today is truly a testament to that endurance. we welcome president biden and dr. biden. we welcome vice president harris and doug emhoff, president obama, president clinton and secretary clinton, president bush and laura bush, vice president pence, vice president quail and maryland quail. the justices of the united states supreme court are with us, all nine of them, i counted. and of course the trump and

vance families. this ceremony marks what will soon be 250 years of our knock situate it is the moment when -- democracy. it is the moment where leaders elevated by the will of the people promise to be faithful to our constitution, to cherish and defend it. it is the moment when they become as we all should be, the guardians of our country. through war and peace, through adversity and prosperity, we hold this inauguration every four years, and today it falls on martin luther king day, a further reminder that we must strive to uphold the values enshrined in our constitution, the freedoms, the liberties, and as is inscribed on the entrance of the united states supreme court, the equal justice under law.
