kudlow. we're here live from the capital one arena in washington dc. donald trump sworn in today as the 47th president of the united states much his toric day marking a historic comeback by mr. trump, and a historic transformation coming from mr. trump's enormous popular mandates for change. so my big take today: god save trump and america for a reason. that's the subject of the riff. >> this day forward going for them to be respected all other the world and inauguration speech going to reach up for the presidency after losing in 2020 and this being the greatest political comeback in american history. mr. trump was calling his second

term a revolution of common sense. take a listen. >> today i will sign a series of historic executive orders with these actions we will begin the complete restoration of america and the revolution of common sense. larry: calling it a new era of national success and transformation tide of change that will sweep through the country. in some sense imitating teddy roosevelt and mr. trump wants to act with could recollect, vigor and vitality, emblematic of history's civilization and speaking of the republican roosevelt, mr. trump intends to take back some kind of control over the panama canal from the influx of chinese communist encroachment to central and south america. right off the bat, tram subpoena rolling out a couple of hundred shock and awe executive orders to close the border and reopen

energy. time and again mr. trump talked about the theme of unifying the country. ironically four years ago, joe biden would be the unifier. biden became one of the most corrupt and divisive presidents in american history. speaking of corruption, 20 minutes before he's officially ending his term, joe biden pardoned his entire family except for jill and himself. his brother james and wife saratoga remarks sister value rendition of anthony and husband john and brother francis, a breathtaking admission of family corruption and guilt. but i don't want to digress from mr. trump's great moment and vision of america's manifest destiny, going to the stars and american as in and outs planning the st st stars and -- astronaud

the st stars and stripes and the gulf of america and restoring mount mckinnley to its rightful name. increasing wealth through a merri bowl cat ick society and henceforth, there'll be only two genders and dei and woke social policies will be banned during trump years and hopefully forever. mr. trump spent plenty of times on policy to close the border including return to remain in mexico. title 42, end catch and release, military troops on the border. and declaring the drug cartels to be terror organizations. and then of course, drill, baby, drill, and energy dominance to produce more at lower cost. mr. trump spoke to importance of defeating inflation, especially by ending overspending and of course the doge brothers to rescind unnecessary programs and

disempower the socialist state and didn't have economic growth or blue collar boom and didn't mention tax cuts. he did return to the theme of unity however and mentioning the important gains among african americans, hispanic americans and urban, suburban and rural vote erics. boiling it -- voters. boiling it down, all about unity, success and prosperity, and i believe as important as anything in this speech was when mr. trump said and i will quote, "i felt then and believe even more now that my life was saved for a reason. it was saved by god to make america great again". and i will simply add god entered mr. trump's heart and that i believe has made him a better person, and that in turn

will make america that much of a greater country. and that's the riff. now with great pleasure we have florida congressman byron donalds. >> great to be here. we need seriousness, not platitudes. we need focus, not statements that mean nothing. we need a president and leader that's willing to be outfront, speaking directly to the issues and not one that's nowhere to be seen. it was a speech focused directly on what needs to occur and what he's going to do, not just for the american people to know but to put the rest of the world on notice. i thought it was phenomenal. it was the right tone, it starts the golden era of america.

larry: i love that he began out with that and this will be the beginning of the golden era. i love that. i was interested in a sort of what i call teddy roosevelt theme, american vigor, american tough goes with america first but also goes with stop messing with our can ma canal, china, okay, and chinese influence throughout and of course the gulf of america. so there's a lot of foreign policy content. >> there is, and it's par for people that may not know the monroe doctrine and something where america said anything in our h hemisphere needs our attention and we should be focused on it. we have gotten away from monroe doctrine for some time and donald trump is focusing on that again and it'll be important for the security of our nation but also with bringing so much manufacturing and not just to america but other nations in the hemisphere to make the supply chains easier for the american people easier supply chains for businesses and americans and means stabilized pricing for

consumers here at home. that's why all the economic agenda and didn't mention tax policy, but he didn't need to on capitol hill, we're going to continue donald trump's tax policy from the first administration because, larry, it's the best policy our nation's ever had. larry: he did mention tariff policy and new external tariff, revenue, something agency. what do you think about that? >> it's great. there's nothing wrong with refocusing or positioning new agencies for a specific goal. we know one of the big problems in washington is mission. agencies created for one person and doing other things over time. having an external revenue service solely for collected revenue to go to the treasury, that's the focus and detail you need of a business mind thinking of something like that. a political find would say oh, just run it through another agency where you have more

creation and it takes away from the needs and services that the american people need to be able to rely on from a different agency. it's the right step. larry: meeting of a number of republican groups and republican house member groups, and i noticed he did have a particular emphasis on stopping overspending as a way of stopping inflation. >> he's absolutely correct. scott bessent that will make a fantastic treasury secretary and he's been exact along with donald trump, we have to bend the mandatory spending curve in the federal budget. joe bind, what he did in the last four years is so reckless and going to expand mandatory discretionary spending using covid-19 as an excuse, we have to unwind all of the covid spending if there's any chance of having a sound fiscal future for our country. you know like i know, the bond market is watching and having

tax policy and dominant energy policy and all these other things and if you don't have stable finances, the bond market will come after us sooner rather than later and hurt all americans. larry: and drive up interest rates including mortgage rates, some of which has happened already and it's interesting that he included the overspend in there. that was deliberate and heard it trust worthy a lot of your colleagues in the house. i don't think people understand as you just put it, how much spitement spending joe biden has expanded and tried to drive into the baseline. not going formedicare and and food stamps and requirements and going without work requirements.

>> if you're a able-bodied in america and we did expansion populations because of covid, we'll have to roll that back. people in our country who truly need help and we need to help them. but at the same time, donald trump is bringing back society-based meritocracy on work and merit and work and efforts. in order to do that, we can't have abled bodied people sitting on the roles. you have to come off and get back short term orientation work. not just to your individual benefit and benefit of the entire country and labor participate getting back up to where we need to be, we will be more successful in the country. larry: absolutely and he was very clear and explicit about the border and very clear today. i think a lot of the shock and awe executive orders, i don't know where he's signing them and maybe signed some on the hill. i think he's coming here to sign some of them. >> that's right. larry: at capital one center. i can't wait. i'll have to rotate my head to

see it, it's his day, not mine. he was very explicit about closing the border. >> he's absolutely right. mandate by the american people, bipartisan and they all want to see the border secured and illegal aliens being sent back to their home countries. with joe biden and kamala harris did was not humane. young girls raped on the journey to the southern boarder and people in tractor trailers diagnose of heat exhaustion on the roads of texas. it was not humane. they're living on street corners in every city of america, not humane. sending people back to their country, having an orderly force of coming to the country illegally and coming in legally, larry, that's the future of america needs to be. legal immigration, secured boarders, that's what donald trump will deliver. larry: remain in mexico and return to title 42 exploit seipopolice italy and calling dg

here, joe biden as final act of treachery for the american people, has pardoned both of his brothers, jim biden and frank biden. jim biden is currently under investigation, i believe, by the department of justice or some other gift. so that's all gone. frank biden, who once was caught in a video shop with two videos, two cassette videos stuck down his pants trying to shoplift in florida. many years ago. sort of on par with the whole biden family. then he also pardoned his sister valerie, and all three inlaws. two wives, sarah widen, jim biden's wife, who was very much involved in the sort of china gift with hunter biden. if in fact, sarah biden went and got a check out of -- money

$200,000 out of their joint bank account. wrote a check and cashed with another bank and found a way to get it to joe biden. she wrote on the check, it was a repayment of a loan. so unfortunately the republicans could netanyahu never get to the bottom of that. larry: really suggests that chairman comer was right. >> oh, yeah. larry: they set up all these little l.l.c.,s and that's how the money was laundered. yes, they never did prove it. but if papa biden is pardoning everyone in his family, they have to wonder -- by the way, they're all cheering for us. certainly they're cheering for miranda devine right now. this is like the milwaukee convention. it's a great marching band. we'll see that. it really does suggest strongly that where there's smoke, there's fire. why would you be pardoning somebody with 20 minutes left in

your presidency. >> he did that because he knew that the news would be buried by all the news of the inaug inauguration. and it's such a low despicable act but to me it really defines his presidency. he came, he did terrible damage to the country, and his character, he always talked about, you know, character and bringing back the soul of america. well, his character is now lying there for the whole country and world to see what he's all about: corruption. larry: you know, part of today's story for mr. tram, which is the historic comeback and the greatest in american political history, was how he got through biden's weaponization and biden's lawfare and biden trying to throw him in jail for 700 years. here's biden almost putting an exclamation point on it by these crazy pardons with 20 minutes to

go. >> it is and it's brilliant that donald trump was there in front of biden. like biden is sitting there next to him, and he's basically eluding to the corrupt and barbaric nature of the government and how incompetent they were. he didn't name joe biden. he was quite polite because as he says, melania trump and jd vance said to him, don't be mean or put those things in your speech. i thought it was pitch perfect, but he's classy and rose above, and the man who tried to put him in jail who's sitting next to him and has just pardoned the people who should have been charged and that never were. department of justice went after donald trump, they covered for hunter biden, joe biden, jim biden. larry: i think we have the american colonialists behind us, which is terrific. this is a great day for patriots

speech and day? >> it's a great day for america in a long, long time, larry. reminds me so much of 1981, cold, and reagan-esk moment and trump doing a beautiful job for economics ever and he's got a real shot at transforming america for a long, long time into the future just the way reagan did. larry: steve moore, what stood out in his inaugural speech, as far as you're concerned in >> larry, we were not huge fans of trump's inauguration speech in 2016. it was a little dark. this was exactly the opposite. it was morning in america, it was aspirational. i loved the idea of shooting for the moonlit rally -- i should say shooting for mars. figuratively and lit ragainily and inclusive and talking about

latinos and all these groups and poll number withs young people is amazing. young people see him as the bridge to the future, which is amazing for a guy who is as old as he s. i loved the speech and thought it was one of the best inauguration speeches and i go back to 1984. one of the best ever. larry: steve moore, i thought you'd be jumping for joy about the part of cutting federal spending and cutting government spending. that's pretty interesting. >> yeah. well, look, the only thing -- it was really a powerful speech. i really believe that and it's interesting, larry, four years ago, we heard joe biden give his speech and it was all about uniting the country but then joe biden went into office and i can't think of a single thing he did in four years that united

the country. i think growth is uniting, prosperity is uniting, inclusion is uniting, and i think i'm excited and a little worried about tariffs but other than that, i like the agenda. larry: that was my next question and not a lot ovdetails but mentioned tariffs and did mention a new tariff collecting revenue, external revenue collection agency and how about that and going for that and not having a spot for tax cuts today. >> all the talks on tar tariffsd we have to go back to the first term and six major bills, usmca, south korea, japan, we had the

brazilian and columbian agreements and all reduce barriers and tariffs and taxes and pro growth policies. i'm expecting donald trump to be pro growth across the board and really create a new prosperity in this country. you know, i also think he's going to want to cut taxes. i think he'd love to get that corporate rate down to 15% and taxes on overtime get rid of it. these are all great ideas, and it's really big. the house has to do the legislation, but i think he'll do something really great on that line. i'm sure you agree, don't you? larry: well, the influential congressman byron donalds at top of the show believed the extension of the tax cuts is absolutely a done deal and the house will get that through right away. i think it's terrific. i mean, one big beautiful bill seems to be what the house of representatives wants and extending the tax cuts will be

part of that and maybe time later for trump taxes 2.0 but right off the top is extending i think. >> that's what it should be, larry. that's what it should be. >> other thing about this is please tell art to quit waving his hand in front of my face. jaire i'm trying to keep the audience from getting sick, larry. that's why i do it. >> we're in the governor's party this afternoon we both attended and bunch of the people from the energy industry, larry, i've got to tell you, they're amazingly upbeat and they're so bullish about america's energy future and talking a lot about that and that's going to be one of the greatest things, use our oil, gas, coal, nuclear power and everything we've got. larry: well, i think, you know, you two are terrific together. it's a lovely couple. i think though, a good part of his inaugural speech, and this is very important, was rolling back the biden climate

regulations and rolling back the ev regulations, and rolling back all of the green new deal and rolling back the spending that went on with the green new deal. that was a huge part of the speech today. that has to be music to your arts. arthur, go ahead. >> yeah, music but going with biden pardoning everyone on earth. what would happen if he pardoning every american for every crime for the next century? would that be possible and what's the supreme court adjudication and i don't know what this guy is doing versus trump's upbeat looking at the future and felt the position is so perfect. i'm glad biden is gone and so glad trump is here. lauren: we just had the great

miranda devine here talking about the biden corruption off the charts and what he did in the last 20 minutes of his presidential term pardoning family members was pure insanity and how corrupt and how guilty and divisive he was. but he's not going to steal the thunder from donald trump's day today. i mean, steve moore, this was a historic inauguration and four years ago, very few people thought it could happen and here it happened with a virtuous landslide and it's remarkable. >> yeah, thinking about where he was three years ago and odds were probably 1 in 20 he'd ever return to the white house. you know, we've learned he's got a 1 in 10 chance of winning white house and now he's done it twice and it's remarkable and anybody that bets against this man is making a big, big mistake. larry: i'm looking forward to a 15% corporate tax rate and a 15%

charge of the white house? for four years you've been wondering who is the president? who's been acting like the president of the united states? when donald trump is in the oval office, there's absolutely no confusion as to who's in charge. larry: mr. trump wasn't president till s noon today but he was the one that throve through the hostages and cease-fire. he's on the phone with xi jinping and vladamir putin and working to negotiate peace with russia and ukraine and the warns up with iran. in a sense, kellyanne, he's been conducting foreign policy and joe biden hat not even been in the picture. >> we've had a full commander in chief from president trump for two and a half months and president trump is the only chief in modern types to not

preside over any new wars and he's inheriting them. vladamir putin annexed sovereign nation of crimea or ukraine in 2022 when joe biden is in the white house or vice president or president and not under president trump. they put a weight on donald trump's shoulder and he's a deal maker and negotiator and means america first and not america alone and not giving endless gobs of money to foreign engagement and god forbid putting troops on the ground. saying i'm going to solve all this quickly, they all think it can happen by the summer. one of the three female hostage mother's that was released, her family came out and thanked president trump. they know this is causation, not coincidence and in the first term, he presided over the release of hostages and detainees from many countries and this is a continuation of the trump legacy. one last thing on that, barack

obama was given the noble peace prize before he even was inaugurated as president. he didn't have to earn it at a. everybody just presumed he'll be a peacemaker. president trump in his second enall rale address today said -- inaugural address said i want to be a unifier and peacemaker for my leg situate president trump should be given space and grace to allow that to happen. larry: 100%. kellyanne, one thing that's near and dear to my heart is the spiritual recognition. >> over the past eight years, i've been tested and challenged more than any president in our 250 year history. and i've learned a lot along the way. the journey to reclaim our republic has not been an easy one, that i can tell you. those that wish to stop our cause have tried to take my

freedom, and indeed to take my life. just a few months ago in a beautiful pennsylvania field an assassin's bullet ripped through my ear, but i felt then and believe even more so now that my life was saved for a reason. i was saved by god to make america great again. larry: there you have it. you heard him say it, i've heard him say it. it's really a remarkable thing. i was very maurice please that had he put it in the inaugural. i think it's very important that he say that to the whole country and to the rest of the world. don't you think, really? >> there's no question, and we believe it. i know he believes it. he says that. i think there is a certain reflection happening here, and for him to acknowledge that publicly, really cuts against a

couple of things where people say donald trump is about donald trump and has ego and vanity project. excuse me, he just said he thinks there was nothing short of devine intervention. not just to save us from kamala harris or hillary clinton presidency and allowing this man to come back and doing what he can for the nation and fixing for what's tackled to be ignored and confide in your family and wife and cabinet and friends and he did. all of that. he's really crediting all mighty god and we don't hear that every day from the business community. we've been hearing the opposite in all the woke stuff. don't hear this every day from politicians and it's refreshing because it's the most humbling, clarifying aspect of president trump's second inaugural address. many americans right, left, and center, church going or not church going, all different faiths and backgrounds, can nod

their head in agreement about devine intervention. larry: you know, kellyanne, i think what he's doing and he's done it before, remember he went to al smith dinner and reopening of notre dame that need rale and went to the in-- cathedral and made the statement that god is in his heart. think he's reopening the door to religion in american life. in american family life, kellyanne, in american community life, you know, the woke culture was basically godless and tried to shut religion out, and as one of my dearest friends and mentors, william f. buccally junior said many, many years ago and wrote books on it, you can't have a healthy country, you can't have a healthy community, you can't have a healthy family without some form of religion. whatever it is, god as you understand it. i give you the last word on

that. >> larry, this is all true and i think the democrat haves been going the other way and shutting union households and african american, union and asian voters because of household of religions and send you thoughts and never prayers. it's been quiet consequential and it's one thing to rip god out of public documents or public squares and quite another to rip parents out of the same where their children go to school and what is taught there and parent's right renaissance has a big religious cast to it also. these parents and grandparents say i want them to have more religion and not less and morals and values of this and this country was founded on separation of church and state but remember, larry, it was to protect the church from the state and not the other way around. larry: okay.
