surprisingly he did not emphasize economic growth or the blue collar boom and he never mentioned tax cuts. unity among african americans, asian americans and urban, suburban and rural voters and the speech was all about unity, success, and prosperity. almost mr. trump said and i'll quote, i believe then and now my life was saved for a reason. service staved by god to make america great again. i'll simply add god has entered mr. trump's heart and that i believe has made him a better person.

larry: i love that he began out with that and this will be the beginning of the golden era. i love that. i was interested in a sort of what i call teddy roosevelt theme, american vigor, american tough goes with america first but also goes with stop messing with our panama canal, china, okay, and chinese influence throughout and of course the gulf of america. so there's a lot of foreign policy content. >> there is, and it's par for people that may not know the monroe doctrine and something where america said anything in our hemisphere needs our attention and we should be focused on it. we have gotten away from monroe doctrine for some time and donald trump is focusing on that again and it'll be important for the security of our nation but also with bringing so much manufacturing and not just to america but other nations in the hemisphere to make the supply chains easier for the american people easier supply chains for businesses and americans and means stabilized pricing for

consumers here at home. that's why all the economic agenda and didn't mention tax policy, but he didn't need to on capitol hill, we're going to continue donald trump's tax policy from the first administration because, larry, it's the best policy our nation's ever had. larry: he did mention tariff policy and new external tariff, revenue, something agency. what do you think about that? >> it's great. there's nothing wrong with refocusing or positioning new agencies for a specific goal. we know one of the big problems in washington is mission. agencies created for one person and doing other things over time. having an external revenue service solely for collected revenue to go to the treasury, that's the focus and detail you need of a business mind thinking of something like that. a political mind would say oh, just run it through another

agency where you have more creation and it takes away from the needs and services that the american people need to be able to rely on from a different agency. it's the right step. larry: meeting of a number of republican groups and republican house member groups, and i noticed he did have a particular emphasis on stopping overspending as a way of stopping inflation. >> he's absolutely correct. scott bessent that will make a fantastic treasury secretary and he's been exact along with donald trump, we have to bend the mandatory spending curve in the federal budget. joe bind, what he did in the last four years is so reckless and going to expand mandatory discretionary spending using covid-19 as an excuse, we have to unwind all of the covid spending if there's any chance of having a sound fiscal future for our country. you know like i know, the bond market is watching and having tax policy and dominant energy

policy and all these other things and if you don't have stable finances, the bond market will come after us sooner rather than later and hurt all americans. larry: and drive up interest rates including mortgage rates, some of which has happened already and it's interesting that he included the overspend in there. that was deliberate and heard it trust worthy a lot of your colleagues in the house. i don't think people understand as you just put it, how much entitlement spending joe biden has expanded and tried to drive into the baseline. we're going to talk economics with art laffer and steve moore when kudlow returns.

numbers with young people it's amazing and young people see him as the bridge to the future, which is amazing for a guy who is as old as he is and i love the speech, it was one of the best inauguration speeches and i go back to 1948 and one of the best ever. going for them cutting federal spending. larry: i know that you want to obsess a bit about federal spending and only thing that you'd like better is the debt ceiling, but he did talk about cutting government spending. that's pretty interesting. jot only thing that was really a powerful speech and i really believe that. i think it's interesting, larry, four years ago, we heard joe biden give his speech and it was all about uniting the country but then joe biden went into office and i can't think of a single thing he did in four years that united the country. i think growth is uniting, prosperity is uniting and

reduced tariffs and ta taxes and pro growth policies and i'm expecting donald trump so be pro growth across the board and create a new prosperity in the country. i also think that he's going to want to cut taxes. i think he'd love to get that corporate race down to 15%. taxes on overtime, get rid of it. these are all great ideas and it's really good, the house has to do the legislation, but i think he's going to do something really great on that line. i'm sure you agree, don't you? larry: well, influential congressman byron donalds here at the top of the show believed the extension of tax cuts is absolutely a done deal and house will get that through right away, which is terrific, one big beautiful bill seems to be what the house of representatives wants, and i think extending the tax cuts will be part of that. there may be time later for trump taxes 2.0. i think right off the top is going to be extending the tax
