executive orders, the way united states does. and, that is going to be, i know good for the world, i think haerment world growing good your united states open up market for american goods and services. maria: in terms of of deploying ai and who is using it, 300 million people cfo openai told us using chatgpt, right now, what is your expectation in terms of microsoft a.i. and how many people reach? >> we usually two billion, so you know when you look at our productivity services you know, used by 1.5 to two billion, and, you know, then behind because world has more as you were saying than two billion people, the thing i think we need to keep in mind isn't just good for american economy. if we are going to win race as

a country with china we need to think about this as golden he opportunity for american ai two ways to race one hope opponent slows down mostly you want to race by speeding up, the key to speeding up american ai is not only the investment in the united states, it is bringing american ai to the rest of the world, faster, than china. that is i a large part of what our infrastructure investment is all about, other american companies will do the same thing. but i think that is the prize keep our eye on that prize, accelerate the spread of american ai around the world. maria: and you say we have to bring value, walk us through the value of ai. >> there was a government landlord i met with this morning said their government spends 130 billion dollars a year on employee payroll some spent on people do real valuable work what you want

people to do but some of it is like the slow processing of permit application, you know, the processing of tax forms, things that technology can speed up. i have never heard anyone run for reelection as a governor or prime minister or president on the mantra that i spent more money, on the state than i needed to, if a leader of a government can improve government services, make government less expensive, that is the ultimately win-win, and you see that, in that context for government, you name it name the business, name the with consumers scenario name a problem you want to solve, we should be able to use ai as a tool to help solve it. >> where else does growth at microsoft come from in the coming three years. >> well, i think over next three years let's remember we are a cloudy company we have the world has not completed transition to the cloud.

there is are verying estimates people say maybe halfway there, there are years and more than years ahead of that then the deployment on ai on top of that across every sector of the economy in most countries in the world. and if that is not enough, for you, you know, we have our consumer devices we have linked in, gauge we are an extraordinarily diversified technology company but i think end of, all the above i tell you sort of vision in dream i think we should all have that we use this technology, to equip the next generation of students in schools and all the nonprofits of the united states in the world, so that they can use ai. so that prepared for the jobs of the the president, and aro our nonprofits can do what they do critically across the country to solve problems of day. >> i am marrying a lot of optimism about governments using ai because, obviously,

governments are not like the private sector fast-moving able to innovate. what sectors do you think benefit most from ai? >> well it probable starts, from the business sector, that have the most complex business processes that is one, because basically what you need is organizational leaders can come in, dissect where spending money identify i know where, things take more time than they would want. figure out how to simplify it, now i give you a great capital of that, customer service every large company sells especially to consumers has a critical customer service piece. it starts with taking information in all the way to solving somebody's problem. you know. you know, this is one of the early early areas where businesses are adopting ai, and i think ultimately i think of it three tests you want to pass you increase productivity, you improve the service for the customer, and
