maria: good monday morning, thank you for joining us this morning. i am maria bartiromo. monday january 27th, 701 on the east coast. that's kicked off the hour with a hot topic. fox learning that president chappell signed an executive order to reinstate service members discharged for refusing to take the covid vaccine giving them full back pay and benefits, this coming on the heels of the cia publicly admitting that covid originated from the lab in wuhan, china, the new assessment coming two days after john ratcliffe was sworn in, ratcliffe joined me yesterday on "sunday morning futures". >> i had the opportunity on my first day to make public an assessment that took place in the biden administration pretty can't be accused of being political and it does assess the cia has assessed that the most likely cause of the pandemic that is present much devastation around the world because of the
7:03 am
lab related incident in wuhan we will investigate that moving forward but i think it was important for the american people to see an institution like the cia get off the sidelines and be truthful about what our intelligence shows at the same time of protecting us from adversaries like china if they caused or contributed to this. maria: our viewers are well aware of this, we've been reporting on the valve leak theory for years on this program beginning with arkansas senator tom cotton who joined me in february of 2020 and made the assessment, former house coronavirus chairman with me several times here he is back in august of 2023. watch this. >> china was lying from the beginning and lying today this virus did not originate in the animal market the virus spread and before it came out of the food market we also know a few miles away from the food market
7:04 am
is china's only biosafety level for super laboratory that researches human infectious diseases. we don't have evidence that this disease originated but because of china's duplicity and dishonesty from the beginning we need to ask the question to see what the evidence says in china is not giving any evidence on the question at all. >> you've seen what we revealed through the subcommittee on the pandemic's internal documents from the people are saying this came from nature nothing to see in china necessarily but internally they are saying that likely could've came from the lab even dr. fauci sat there doing this research in wuhan. maria: it is significant that the cia is finally admitting this because it was the cia that kept saying we have mixed evidence. what gets me is when tom cotton
7:05 am
came on sunday marty futures and "mornings with maria" february 2020 in march of 2020 he kept saying the same thing he got slammed by the maniacs and social media. he told the truth and based on his assessment and knowledge of the chinese communist party in the backdrop offered the most pliable ideas into get slammed for. >> it was considered racist that there might've been a lab accident in wuhan but not considered racist to think of people eat bats it's a little strange. from the beginning there were pictures of the hospital parking lots beginning in october filling up in wuhan there were so many clues that china had a dna sequencing of the disease way before they should have or could have if in fact it was a big shock from the wet market in wuhan.
7:06 am
this is another example president trump being right, he was a racist for saying they came out of the wuhan lab, he was totally right, the fbi was on this a while ago, where has the cia been that's my question. >> i have to give you another shadow you also was a frequent guest on this program in 2020 and 2021 that was senator rand paul and remember when he was coming onto the program and saying not only the lab where the virus came from which killed 1 million americans but he was also saying anthony fauci you testified before me and my committee and he was lying about the lab leak. all the people up in arms because dr. fauci lost his security detail, sorry, too bad million americans are dead. maria: the security detail story is interesting because john
7:07 am
brennan was of course pushing the lie about russia collusion and now he wonders why he lost his security detail. senate majority leader john thune is backing trump's bold genda the majority leader of the united states senate joined me yesterday on "sunday morning futures" and appeared firmly behind 47. watch. >> is all about keeping the country strong economically in the things of president is doing and the things he's talking about is a very compelling argument on panama and gree greenland. optimism in america that we haven't seen in a long time this is been a sluggish country, country that's bogged down under government regulation and red tape and taxation. one of the reason you see sally's wanting to invest in america because they see america as an attractive place to invest knowing full well that they will have a different environment economic to deal with when it
7:08 am
comes to taxes and regulation and energy in a whole range of other issues. we want america to be the magnet and with these policies it will be. maria: politico is reporting on the stark contrast between the biden intra- white house most notably joe biden and donald trump noting how much trump has got done in his first week as fast as the movers change out the white house furniture the country went from an invisible president unable to command the spotlight to an omnipresent and want the public's attention at all times. trump and for days was able to secure 1.1 chouchou namegabe dollars in new investment into america, you have 600 billion from the saudi's and 500 billion from the a.i. infrastructure he was able to sign 30 plus executive orders, 100 plus executive action and visit los angeles, north carolina and he still working.
7:09 am
>> i'm glad the diet coke button is back because he is not stopping in the oval office, the contrast is unbelievable and it's sad because were wondering who the heck was running our country for the last two years and we were criticized for bringing up and now look at the difference but i'll tell you what, this is someone is energized, focused and you were talking about greenland in the panama canal and it's about national security he wants to make america safe and the promises kept promises deliver promises kept. maria: my favorite one is the gulf of america i love the idea it's a bold idea but underlines exactly what he's all about. >> at the end of the day he so creative who would've came up with that and never occurred to me i don't know about you.
