>> no i don't expect it, but i think that internal revenue service will be looked at like everybody else. just about everybody is going to be looked at, so they are doing a hell of a job. it's an amazing job they are doing, and that force is building, i call it the force of super geniuses, but it's building, and you know, they go up and talk to some of the people about certain deals, and the people get all tongue tied. they can't talk, because these people get it. they are very smart people. we need smart people. >> identifying wasteful spending in the defense department, defense contractor or s and the like. are you willing to go after that spending as well? >> we have to go waste, fraud, and abuse. yeah, and we're doing that. liz: president trump talking about his war against government corruption, waste, fraud and abuse and says doge will look at the pentagon and the irs. we've got this news. a judge gave trump a win. he reinstated the trump buyouts for government workers working from home who do not want to come back into the office.

now 77,000 government workers took the trump buyouts. look whose here, look whose finally back with us, senior counsel for trade and manufacturing, the one and only peter navarro. great to see you, peter. >> good to see you as well, long time. liz: so peter, we just went through what's going on with the trump buyouts, doge, irs, pentagon, and what we keep hearing and seeing in the media, peter, is democrats in the media are saying well, this is a constitutional crisis, everything that trump is doing. is it lawfare though? is that the constitutional crisis brought by democrats looking for activist judges to represent obstructionist democrats and labor unions going against the trump white house? >> liz, the economic importance of the doge effort and finding all of this abuse, it's going to help us reduce this massive government deficit and that will in turn help us reduce the joe biden inflation,

and if the democrats want to die on this hill, the american people are looking and going wait a minute. you want us to spend money for that, or this , or that? it's all crazy stuff, and you see these democrats get out and scream oh, the sky's falling. no, the sky's not falling. the budget is going to get balanced, and taxes are going to go down, and by the way, tariffs are going to help with that and life is going to be great and markets going to roar, and that's what this is about. it shouldn't be a partisan thing, but hey, the democratic party failed in the election, because of what they stand for now. their brand is destroyed, and if they want to keep destroying it, they say if you dig yourself a hole, stop digging, right? they just keep digging that hole. liz: it's interesting what you are saying, peter, because we see the media and the democrats freaking out that trump and doge want to cut all federal agency

budgets by 30% to 40% but we're talking about that's down from a top line that grew astronomically over the last four years. tripling or quadrupling so they are trying to bring it down to normal, doge and trump. they are talking 30-40% and that number, the top line for these agencies like doubled or tripled or quadrupled they were trying to bring it down to normal right? >> it's exactly right. the spending that joe biden did is out of control and now you've got deep state bureaucrats even though biden is long gone still trying to send money out the door. that's what happened with usaid. they kept trying to write checks, so look. that's going on. it's a beautiful lane. what i'm trying to do and what the president did today, let's not lose sight of the fact, this was a historic day for america, a historic day for the international trading environment, which is a deck stacked against americans, and the president said no. none of that. no more of that.

so this fair and reciprocal plan is a beautiful thing. reciprocal tariffs is even more beautiful word. liz: which countries are backing down now ready to deal? >> we already had the eu float the idea that they would lower their 10% tariff on autos to ours at 2.5%. i mean, think about that, liz. they have auto tariff that is four times higher, but the thing that is astonishing about why germany sells eight cars to us for every one we sell to them, is the other thing president trump is calling out, which is the value-added tax. why is that important? it's 19% for germany, so if you have a vat, what they do is use it as an export subsidy to sell bmw's u.s. and they use it as a tariff to keep cadillac's

out of that market. liz: that makes sense. >> and the differential is freaking huge. liz: that's a great way to put it. >> liz, on a $50,000 car, a 5 50,000 dollars bmw and $50,000 cadillac, when the cadillac tries to get into europe, it's $65,000 after the tariff and when the bmw comes here, that 50 grand car is down to something like 42. liz: wow. >> i mean, that differential is like the grand canyon. we can't compete with that. the president says that's nuts, and so the beauty of this plan is that we're going to have, liz, we've got an astonishing trade team here. howard lutnick commerce, jameson greer at ustc, kevin hassett at the national economic council and scott bessent in treasury. these are giants serving the president. liz: that's a got of fire power, peter, thank you so much really amazing stuff.

that's why you're going after this base of support and sustenance in terms of pushing these programs most americans don't want so it's not just the amount of savings they are doing. it's cutting off a funnel of funding that most people didn't even know was taking place. liz: so is trump transforming the culture of d.c. to a government that works for americans, not a government that works for far left federal careerists. is he changing the left wing culture in d.c.? >> he's taking measures to change the culture. the empire is going to strike back. they are already doing it. already trying to use the federal courts to impede this thing, so it's going to take time. it's going to take a couple of election cycles before it really sinks in but it started and they know the root causes of it and that's what they are attacking. they don't want those roots to be pulled out but the muskevites are doing it and trump is backing them 100%. liz: people on the outside looking in, you've done this ,

liz: welcome back. this is a curious story. it's really surprising. elon musk says doge uncovered an antiquated ancient basically storage facility the government has been using in a limestone mine in pennsylvania. it dates back to the eisenhower cold war era of the 50s. what are they doing with it? processing federal worker retirement benefit checks. let's take you now to fox news nate foy standing by live in pennsylvania with this odd bizarre story. nate, what is going on here? reporter: hey liz. yeah, this week millions of americans learned a lot more about how the federal employee retirement process works, and the bulk of it happens here in western pennsylvania at a former limestone mine. take a look at this video from our fox news flight team that

shows the entrance to the mine. it's high-tech on the inside and you see the perimeter here. there's armed security, checkpoints, metal detectors, and biometric access markers. meanwhile, 220 feet underground take a look at the working environment. this video is from iron mountain, the company that the u.s. government leases the space from. workers go through each application by hand after receiving documents from whatever federal agency a worker is retiring from, so that they can get their full pension. doge posted on x, "700-plus mine workers operate 230 feet under ground to process roughly 10,000 applications per month which are stored in manila envelopes and cardboard boxes" and the office of personnel management says it processed even less than that last year at just 7,381 claims per month. the agency says, " opm is evaluating methods to enhance

the efficiency of retirement application processing." the agency received $18 million just two months ago to modernize the process but they have not responded our request asking about how that money is being spent. >> the federal retirement system is being processed deep into the ground and is not computerized, and the president and elon are shining a light on the truth about our federal government. reporter: so many people are wondering why we're still doing it this way, liz. the answer is that the u.s. government has invested quite a bit of money and time trying to digitize this system, but its been too complex and they have failed each and every attempt. liz: nate, such a great journalism there. why did they need to put it in a mine like this to begin with? >> well the conditions, it's cool and it's safe there and it was just a place that fit

war i and world war ii without an education department and started under the carter administration. do you think it's feasible to get rid of the education department and it seems en stretched in d.c. bureaucracy and the president is talking about having hhs send federal block grants to have the states run it because we're seeing things like nearly $900 million and 90 education departments on dei throughout the school system. do you think that's the way to go with block grants? >> absolutely. i think the fewer federal strings you can tie to federal dollars, liz, the better. what's been happening is the federal government has been doing these federal grant agreements for decades, and what they do is they latch on all these hoops and hurdles that parents and local schools have to jump through just to get their own tax dollars back. its made our education system weaker, liz, and we need to get back to just giving back the money to the parents. my ideal world, liz, we be sending money directly to
