david: thank you, everybody for watching this special edition of kudlow. you'll be happy to know larry will be back tomorrow, but first, don't make a move, elizabeth macdonald is going to take you through the next hour. liz? liz: thank you, david a great show always good to see you we've got breaking news again coming in. welcome to the eachi "evening e" i'm elizabeth macdonald. >> the last e-mail where you
5:01 pm
wanted to know what you did this week. you know why he wanted that by the way? i thought it was great because we have people that don't show up to work and nobody knows if they work for the government so by asking the question, tell us what you did this week, what he's doing is saying are you actually working and then if you don't answer, like you're sort of semi-fired or you're fired, because a lot of people are not answering because they don't even exist. they are trying to, that's how badly various parts of our government were run by, especially by this last group. liz: they don't even exist. that was president trump backing elon musk and doge. we've got what happens next if government workers do not tell doge by midnight tonight what they accomplished last week. they could get fired. but more voters say yes, we love trump cutting government waste. it's keeping taxes high. plus this news. musk and doge now going after the big fraud. medicare and medicaid. also we've got this story for you. >> the opportunity for those is
5:02 pm
transitioning to high paying jobs, is real. >> and certainly welcome you to present your data of all of the thousands and thousands of people who won't be getting a green job. >> they could be the people who go to work to make the solar panels. liz: remember that? remember joe biden, his team john kerry talking about firing u.s. oil & gas and coal workers telling them go learn software and code. also under biden, 8,000 u.s. soldiers plus thousands of first responders are fired under biden for not taking the covid shot but democrats now yell about a constitutional crisis. the end of democracy. when government workers get fired for wasting your money. congressman tim burgett is here to breakdown that and also we're monitoring former doge co-leader vivek ramaswamy is about to launch a run to be governor of ohio. we're on it, plus this story for you. >> in less than a month, illegal crossings down 95%. i.c.e. has arrested over 2 1,000
5:03 pm
people in the nation. >> [applause] >> we had about 1,800 a day in 2023. you know how many we had yesterday? 48. >> [applause] >> you're talking about 2,000 miles of border and only 48 people escape, but that's 48 too many. i'm not going to be happy until that number is zero. liz: that was trump border czar tom homan on how joe biden mislead america. that he could not shut the border. trump literally did it in just weeks, and now, it's usaid out. customs and border patrol in. cbp just took over the usaid building after doge found major corruption. there's more shocking news coming in on that. national border patrol vice president art del cueto joins us tonight but first this story. this new fight over elon musk
5:04 pm
giving government workers a 48 hour ultimatum starting last sat to document five things they did the past week or get fired by midnight tonight. major pushback against doge and elon musk here. he says he will also be fired if they don't come back into office in washington. hillary vaughn joins us live. reporter: good evening. the trump administration is clarifying that you will not be fired immediately if you do not respond to this e-mail. instead, they will work directly with agencies and each department to account for workers which is something that needs to be done because elon musk claims there could be dead people on the government's payroll saying, "in some cases we believe non-existent people or the identities of dead people are being used to collect paychecks." in other words, there is outright fraud. president trump earlier today said this e-mail exercise was "genius." >> we're trying to find out if people are working so we're sending a letter to people.
5:05 pm
please tell us what you did last week. if people don't respond, it's very possible that there is no such person or they aren't working. if you don't answer, like you're sort of semi fired or fired, because a lot of people are not answering because they don't even exist. reporter: musk says he's already received a large number of responses and says those people should be considered for a promotion, but democrats are offended that anyone would dare ask federal workers what they did last week. democratic senator tina smith saying that if you're surprised people are pissed, you need to get out of your d.c. bubble. nothing more american than hating a bad boss, especially an illegitimate one like musk. >> imagine that you got this e-mail tomorrow from your boss' boss' boss' boss who knows nothing about what you do. this be like tim cook sending that e-mail to every single apple store employee. if tim cook did that, we would say tim cook is past his due date and doesn't know how to run a company. reporter: liz it's also judgment
5:06 pm
day for people dragging their feet getting back into the office and returning to work. musk saying they've had a month to show up to work in person, and if they still are not doing that, starting this week, they will be placed on leave. liz? liz: like every other private sector worker. hillary vaughn thank you so much great to see you. now watch this. >> anybody could go down 300 to 3,000 feet in a mine, and learn how to program as well. anybody can throw coal into a furnace can learn how to program for god's sake. >> if you want to kill the economy, get rid of your oil industry. you want, and what about fracking? >> let me allow vice president biden to respond. >> i never said i oppose fracking. >> you said it on tape. >> the oil industry pollutes significantly. here's the deal. >> that's a big statement. >> if you let me finish the statement because it has to be replaced by renewable energy. >> well, i'd certainly welcome
5:07 pm
you to present your data of thousands and thousands of people who won't be getting a green job. >> the fastest growing job in the united states before covid was solar power technician. the same people can do those jobs. they could be the people who go to work to make the solar panels. liz: remember that? john kerry, joe biden, jen psaki talking about firing u.s. oil & gas and coal workers telling them just go code, learn how to code and find a green energy job but now they claim constitutional crisis when government workers get caught wasting your taxpayer money and trump and doge are saying there could be fake american government workers on the payroll that don't exist. joining us now from house oversight, he's tennessee congressman tim burchett. congressman great to have you on again. what do you make of the new instance of democrat hypocrisy? they aren't protesting, you know, the thousands of soldiers and first responders fired for refusing the covid shot or biden and john kerry telling oil & gas workers go code, but
5:08 pm
they're upset about firing government workers, wasting taxpayer money? >> well it's the flavor of the week, liz, as you know, and thank you for having me on. in my office, alone, we ask our employees every week, they have to tell what they do. they work for the constituents of people of the second congressional district of tennessee and they gotta answer to me, so they are going to tell me what they did and if you do it in business. it's called accountability and the only place you have no-show jobs are mob construction jobs and the federal government. president trump is exactly right. they switched their attention of attacking him, actually now, because his numbers i guess when they do that his numbers are in the stratosphere as you know it, but the truth is, is that we have people calling our office saying, hey, i'm having to show up for work. i've moved. i'm not in the area anymore. this is not fair. that's the craziest thing i've ever heard but this is what we
5:09 pm
are and the arrogance you have in the federal government. president trump, elon musk, the group at doge, they are going after them. they are squealing like a stuck pick. liz: you know, congressman, a new harvard harris poll, a record 52% approve of president trump. trump and musk, they gave these government workers a month's warning. they also get eight months pay with benefits. that's better than what private sector companies say. is it too much to ask for them to get back to the office and stop working from home and verify why and justify why they are making an average salary of 10 6,000 bucks a year. >> no, ma'am, it's not too much to ask. i'm glad you asked that, because when i was mayor in knox county we did that very same thing. we eliminated jobs that were no longer needed, and people got to go home with a nice paycheck and it saved money in the long run. it's a complete business-like model that everybody hopes that they have in their federal government yet we haven't up to this point. liz: we have to get to this. the media and democrats claim a
5:10 pm
constitutional crisis over the state department taking over usaid after major corruption and waste was found. a federal judge just gave the green light to yes, they can fire usaid workers. look at this. usaid was caught funding groups with alleged ties to terror groups like hamas plus usaid spent $4.5 billion meant for housing in haiti but only six homes were built? about 60% of that money instead went to d.c. firms non-profits and ngo's. this is again major waste at usaid. >> i'm looking forward to a quick paper trail and i guarantee you it goes from the american taxpayer's back pocket to the back pocket of politicians in washington d.c. if it's either party i don't care. they need to be exposed and they need to be out of office. liz: it's either through epa or usaid. we're digging in later to that in the show. congressman, appreciate you so much coming on we appreciate you very much. now listen to this. >> thank you, liz. >> congressional democrats
5:11 pm
polling is at about 20%, so that's an issue for you. >> some of your colleagues have been saying that america is in a "constitutional crisis." senator, as you know, democrats just lost an election largely with the closing argument accusing trump of being a threat to the democracy. is that the most effective messaging right now? >> some see the flames on our horizons, the rising waters in our cities, the shadows gathering over our democracy, and ask what do we do now? liz: okay, yeah. all right first you saw the media pushing back on the left wing democrat narrative attacking president trump. cnn jake tapper confronting democrats with brutal democrat poll numbers going down, and then you heard kamala harris doubling down claiming shadows are gathering over the u.s. democracy. look whose here, a veteran lawyer and veteran of d.c. julian epstein.
5:12 pm
julian? does it, it's good to see you again. does it seem like the democrats have gotten any closer to better messaging for the party moving forward? >> well, liz, thanks for having me. it's not just the messaging. it's a philosophy. democrats really have lost the art of knowing how to build and look at what they did on things like the broadband new broadband wires, in rural areas that didn't have it. look at what happened on charging stations. they don't know how to build and what the democrats do for the most part, liz is they do a lot of name-calling and call people nazis and racists but people can't identify anything in a positive sense democrats are doing to improve people's lives so the segway into the doge is they are defending these institutions in an era of intense anti dasheens u.s. aid institutional sentiment and it seems like the democrats are scared of what might come out whether it's the fraud waste and abuse, the cultural revolution some of these agencies were trying to promote through grant-giving or
5:13 pm
the cronyism, the piece you just pointed out in the new york post yesterday on all of the money that was supposed to go to haiti and most ended up in d.c. ngo's. there seems to be a fair amount of cronyism and democrats rather than trying to fix the problem and actually make government work seem like they are hiding and want to keep hidden the most atrocious abuses of the system and it's just, it's no wonder that democrats numbers are in 31% approval and when you get down to the congressional numbers or even lower, well trump is up in the mid 50s. liz: the hill newspaper, julian, reports that major democrat donors are increasingly cutting off the donations to the party. one democrat done or is saying that the democrat party is terrible, doesn't get much worse and they want us to spend money and no message, no organization, no forward-thinking, just the same lame 2016 playbook. let's take on what democrat pollster mark penn tweeted out.
5:14 pm
"democrats are cratering, polls are down, schumer's ratings are lower than elon musk." voters are looking back on the biden presidency and scratching their heads for why americans tolerated it for so long. >> well if you look at these street protests and barricades they did last week and the week before, they look like escapees from the latest st. elizabeth. it's like a bad saturday night live skit. and we can relate to that person in our friend group that's always complaining and never has anything positive to say and the democrats do that today, go around calling people names but when it comes to building on behalf of the american people they have very little to show for it and that's why the numbers are so bad. liz: you're wonderful appreciate you coming on it's good to see you again. >> liz thanks for having me. liz: we've got more breaking news. we're monitoring former doge co-leader vivek ramaswamy. he's about to possibly announce his run for governor of ohio.
5:15 pm
we're on it. also this. >> can't afford the high cost of trump's tariffs. >> folks think that tariffs are bad. >> tariffs are a really bad idea. >> how dangerous could this trade war become? liz: well that was the media and democrats ripping into president trump's tariffs, but apple just announced a historic $500 billion investment in u.s. manufacturing over four years. we've got the growing list of deals that president trump is making. it's a story the media is under reporting. next up, outkick tomi lahren is here to break it down. we've got a potential big u.s. blue collar boom happening. plus this tonight. >> the europeans are in for about $100 billion and they do it in the form of a loan, and europeans have been great on this issue and understood it wasn't fair and we were able to work something out. we can say we're very close. do you have something to say about that? >> we are very close.
5:16 pm
liz: okay, president trump says he's about to get a historic peace deal from ukraine but he pointed out a major controversy that the media is under reporting. america has given triple the amount europe gave to ukraine but europe is getting their money back and ukraine says no to the same deal for the u.s. trump is not having that. former top u.s. state department official christian white en is here to break it down. also this story. >> the men and women of the border patrol. i love each and every one of you wearing that green uniform. you're the finest 1% this country has. i'm happy with the numbers but i'm not satisfied until every criminal alien gang member, every criminal alien, every trend de agua is eradicated from this country and send them to where they belong. liz: oh, yeah he's fired up trump border czar tom homan saying it's full speed ahead. we'll get criminal illegal aliens out and now it's out with the old in with the new. look at this.
5:17 pm
customs and border protection took over the vacant usaid building after it collapsed in massive waste and corruption of your tax dollars. the headquarters now taken over. border officer art del cueto takes it on but first another story the media refuses to talk about. doge discovering billions of dollars in fraud at medicare and medicaid. the details coming up. please stick with us we're back in two. >> finding tremendous waste, fraud, and abuse at levels that nobody thought possible. you see what's going on? if we had people that just cared a a little bit when they did contracts and negotiated with outside vendors for on behalf of the united states, that's what i'm doing now. i'm negotiating for the people of the united states and we're doing a great job of it. congratulations. here are the keys. congratulations. here's the water heater
5:18 pm

the way i approach work post fatherhood, has really trying to understand the generation that we're building devices for. here in the comcast family, we're building an integrated in-home wifi solution for millions of families like my own. in the average household, there are dozens of connected devices. connectivity is a big part of my boys' lives. it brings people together in meaningful ways. liz: welcome back. about to get even more exciting in washington. the new doge pushes now about rooting out fraud at medicare and medicaid. now, we be remiss if we did not report to you that yes, the u.s. government found fraud inside both programs within a year of their launch way back in 1965. grady trimble has been doing
5:23 pm
the leg work and great reporting here. grady joins us live from washington with more. grady, you have your work cut out for you. this is a big one. reporter: yeah, and liz, the latest data shows on medicare fraud, total improper payments adds up to $54 billion. just to give you two recent examples of medicare fraud in the last month. $93 million scheme that led to prison sentences for a man and woman in miami and then there was another ploy in massachusetts that involved a businessman there, $30 million was the fraud that he was charged within that case. that is still pending. elon musk says doge is going to tackle social security and medical waste and fraud, suggesting that americans could actually receive more money and better healthcare as a result of doge's work, but democrats claim president trump wants to cut medicaid, in a letter to fellow democratic members of congress,
5:24 pm
minority leader hakeem jefferies writes, far right extremists are determined to push through $4.5 trillion of tax breaks for wealthy republican donors and well-connected corporations, explode the debt and saddle everyday americans with the bill by ending medicaid as we know it. but trump has made it pretty clear in public and behind closed doors with house republicans that cuts to medicaid should not be on the table and those same house republicans say they're not looking to cut anyone's benefits. they want to root out waste, fraud, and abuse within the program. >> we're going to look to find that. i do think we're not looking to make cuts to medicaid, but certainly work requirements are something i don't view as cuts. they are just common sense. reporter: separately, the justice department is looking into united healthcare and its billioning practices related to medicare advantage. that's according to the "wall street journal" which says that this is part of a civil fraud
5:25 pm
investigation. the company we reached out to united healthcare, liz, they deny any wrongdoing and call that report false. liz: we have to get you a starbucks coffee, because you'll be working a lot. grady trimble thank you so much. now please listen to this. >> yesterday, i had tim kukin the office from apple. he's investing hundreds of billions of dollars. i hope he's announced it. i hope i didn't announce this , but what the hell. all i do is tell the truth, but he's investing hundreds of billions and dollars and we'll have a lot of chipmakers coming in and automakers coming in and they stopped two plants in mexico that were under construction, starting construction. they just stopped them and they are building here instead, because they don't want to pay the tariffs. the tariffs are amazing. liz: but democrats said they are bad. president trump says no, it's about making a deal. this is history. apple is going to invest half a
5:26 pm
trillion dollars in america over the next four years and create 20,000 u.s. jobs. it is a turning point for a blue collar boom. again, democrats and the media have been hammering trump over his tariffs and incentives to bring back manufacturing to the u.s. but the democrats and media silent pretty much for the day on this one. let's welcome to the show the terrific host of the hit podcast called tomi lahren is fearless, she's a host on out kick.com, the one and only tomi lahren. great to see you. so, the media is not taking this on. we are tracking it. it's more than $1.5 trillion in deals overall, deal making, the president did in just a month in, so do you think the left and democrats are going to as mit trump's tariffs are an effective negotiating tool? >> well liz, i think we both know that they aren't likely to admit that but i think that the narrative here in reality is america is open for business under president trump, closed to
5:27 pm
shenanigans and illegal immigrants i'd add that in as well. i think, perhaps some of the other mainstream networks could take a little time away from the federal workers wining about being laid off or inactivity, and spending time talking about these jobs opening up in the united states of america, perhaps those folks if they want to work hard instead of working hard for the federal government, maybe they can work hard in the private sector and some of these many job openings sure to happen under president trump. i'd also say, liz, this is another example of the art of the deal. the folks on the left and some on the right might not like the way president trump speaks. it's certainly unconventional but when push comes to shove he gets the jobs done, and the money and the investments are just in dick a teranga of that. the reality is this president is a businessman and he's running our country that way. liz: let's talk about that for a second. i mean, it's trump's dealmaking and a 180. it's a flip away from how democrats were doing it with their overspending. now we don't want to give you a migraine or headache but let me
5:28 pm
just walk through for everybody what happened. it was overspending and fed money presenting and war time levels without the war, so trump is trying to get ramp up supply, ramp up production to get rid of inflation, which is a case of too much money chasing too few goods and services. let me go through with the federal reserve did let the money supply grow at a faster rate than u.s. gdp growth and biden did it. democrats did it without, you know, during the pandemic chaos, and the fed exploded fed money printing at a huge 31% year-over-year increase. that's inflation and trump is trying to fix and lower inflation. >> yeah, the pandemic was the dumbest time in modern american history. it also conditioned folks to getting used to getting a stimulus check rather than opening their business or going to work and that was a horrible habit that had to be broken. president trump is saying i want americans to get back to work and american jobs available for those american workers that
5:29 pm
want to work hard. no more of this cheap illegal immigrant labor. i want to bring companies and opportunities and jobs and well paying jobs to the american people and that's exactly what these investments show and it also shows that the world and the world companies have a local of confidence in this president and they want to invest in america and this is a golden age no doubt. liz: you know, that's how america has been run for generations, going even past jfk. this big new deal of kind of thinking is so yesterday and it's off the wall. tomi lahren, thanks for joining us always great to have you on good to see you. we've got breaking news coming in. former doge co-leader vivek ramaswamy, he's about to announce he's going to run to try to be governor of ohio. the announcement is coming any moment. we're monitoring his event live in ohio. we're looking at vivek's wife on the stage right now but first this for you. >> we're in for $350 billion. how we got there, i don't know but that's a lot of money.
5:30 pm
a lot of money invested and we had nothing to show for it. it was the biden administration's fault. liz: president trump says he's about to lockdown a peace deal for ukraine but it's about the unfairness and inequity of ukraine zelenskyy and ukraine is paying back europe here with loans that europe gave it, but zelenskyy is saying no, we're not going to do that with america. america gave three times what europe gave. coming up former top state department official christian whiton will take this on and this story tonight. >> i read a story last night that the police commissioner of boston. you said you doubled down on not helping the law enforcement office of i.c.e. i'm coming to boston and bringing hell with me. >> [applause] liz: that's trump's border czar tom homan says he's going to go to the sanctuary city of boston and he's going to bring hell with him and got to get out.
5:31 pm
there's criminal illegal aliens he wants to deport them next up border patrol's art del cueto is going to break it down. stay with us we're right back after the break. >> in less than a month, illegal crossings down 95%. i.c.e. has arrested over 2 1,000 people in the nation. >> [applause] >> we had about 1,800 a day in 2023. you know how many we had yesterday? 48. >> [applause] >> you talk about 2,000 miles of border and only 48 people escaped but that's 48 too many. i'm not going to be happy until that number is zero. >> [applause]

vivek says he wants to reshape public schools, cut regulations, cut red tape, slash spending, and bring prosperity, economic growth to the great state of ohio. we're going to stay on that. now to this story. another big turnaround in washington d.c. u.s. customs and border protection took over the usaid headquarters in d.c. after corruption and waste put it in a state of collapse. the ap is reporting there's also a reverse flow, illegal aliens are going back home as trump shuts the border. biden claimed he couldn't do it. fox news griff jenkins is in d.c. with the story. great to see you. reporter: good evening liz. the trump administration's message that the border is closed is being heard around the world. images from the ap showing boat after boat full of migrants from venezuela, colombia, and beyond, heading into the dangeus jungle are giving up and turning back in lieu of trump's
