good morning, it is 10:00 eastern. let's go with the money, plenty of reading, the dow was off 630 points, the nasdaq close to 300, that's 1.6% for the nasdaq, 1.4 for the dow, 1.4 for the s&p. and percentages, you know you've got a selloff. next case. tariffs have taken effect on canada, mexico, and china, imposed as of now. mexico's president says retaliatory tariffs are coming sunday, she says she has calls scheduled for trump this week possibly thursday and the us tariffs are violating trilateral north american trade pact. we also watch for canada's justin trudeau who will speak at 10:30 eastern time today. elsewhere on the markets, just look at the yield on the 10 year treasury, back to 4.7%. the price of oil falling to $66

popular, 70% think the government is filled with waste and fraud, 69% want to see the budget cut by $1 trillion, 72% are okay with the department of government efficiency, closing the border, cutting government spending, valuing merit over identity, they all get majority approval. by contrast the democrats have sunk to a new low, 36% have a favorable view of the party which brings us to tonight when the president of joyce is a joy session of congress, his theme will be renewing the american dream. you know that will get cheers from the republicans. it is uplifting. it is positive. it is what america wants. the democrats will be out in the cold if they can't come up with commonsense policies of their own. after the oval office blow out some democrats returned to trump derangement syndrome, senator schiff called our president a coward. that's not going to work. at this point voters like what they see, they like trump's

stuart: go ahead, gloat, you got it right. >> this is my finest hour. i have been waiting 14 years for this. i would say that what i saw in nvidia going back to when i started recommending it in 2018 when it was adjusted at three, this stock used to be as goes apple so goes the market, now it has become as goes nvidia so goes the market. the expectations were so high all i saw were wall street drooling over this stock and piling money into it and they needed that triple beat and the fact they beat revenue and earnings, jensen weighing increases expectations so the fact they beat it and the stock decline showed there was trouble with nvidia.

stuart: let's bring it up to today, tariffs have been imposed, it is a trade war, if it goes on for a month what happens to the stock market? >> the stock market is using the tariffs as an excuse to sell off but if they persist, what you are going to see, especially in real estate because that is -- that hasn't been talked about but real estate when we get 60% to 70% of steel and aluminum through canada it will affect the housing market and that to me is my greatest concern because shelter costs are the biggest aspect of the consumer price index and inflation is the carbon monoxide of the economy and it is not going away and that is a concern. that's why the market is down. stuart: the dow is down 611 points. good to see you again.

ashley, i need to know why chesler is down 6.5%. ashley: this didn't help. bank of america just cut their price target by $490 all the way to 380, better than the 266 but we told you about the poor china made ev sales earlier. bank of america says the trump tariffs are a real problem for america's top ev maker, tesla. look at biotech company aluminum. stock moving lower after china announced a plan to ban imports of gene sequencing technology, as donald trump imposes those additional 10% tariffs. no surprise, stock price is taking a hit down 3.5%. stuart: still ahead, aoc wants to know if the justice department is investigating her.

will be continuous, donald trump speaking to congress amid new polls show he is in a stronger position than he was at this point in his first term, gop pollster mitchell brown is with us. the harris poll shows trump's policies are popular. is that what you are seeing in your polling? >> again, we date this to when he was running, told people what he wanted to do, cut government spending, out of endless wars and to restore respect in america, this is what people cared about, not so much trump himself. i heard from people in focus groups they may not like donald trump's personality but they want these policies back, they want to return to 2018-19. stuart: these polls were taken before the oval office blow up. what do you think will be the impact on his political popularity? >> it's going to rise again, ukraine is not a popular topic.

funding the country is not across-the-board, democrats have gotten less and less comfortable with the issue, we don't need a tiny tyrant to come into the oval office and disrespect our president and our country, americans want a strong man who can checks ability and strength in america. we are not going to get bullied into defending countries that can't exist without our aid. stuart: 58%, the harris poll, 58% say trump is doing a better job than biden. nearly 1/4 of all democrats are saying that. is this what you are seeing in your polling? >> trump tells people what is being done. with joe biden he would say gas is high and we are working on it. people can complain, anything we deem as access or fatty, we

are going to end wars, don't have leverage, if you look for these paul, under the age of 20 he's at record high. stuart: they like trump's policies, do they also like him. they see him on tv every single day of the week. do they like him? >> that's where the divide is, younger people like trump, order people are likely to say they support the policy and not the man himself. stuart: younger people like the man himself. >> it's not counterculture, trump is cool, you see on college campuses people aren't afraid to say it. a or 9 years of the left dominating current culture, this will happen, whatever is deemed uncouth is going to rise up with the youth. stuart: thank you for being with us this morning, appreciate it.

place, we need a us trade representative to come out and say what they are going to do to help america's farmers to find new markets. i don't think they will sell wheat and soybeans. the announcement is very timely but it hurts america's farmers. stuart: the president on truth social says get ready to sell a lot more agricultural product inside the united states. can you do it? you sell a lot more food here. >> we definitely need our international partners, soybeans, mexico purchases a lot of corn in the united states. these are very big markets for three major commodities in the united states.

those are the major commodities and those are the three things we do better than anybody in the world, corn, wheat, and soybeans, strong markets, further commodity. last year i sold my soybean crop in this country for $9 a bushel and to hear that markets are down, raises a lot of uncertainty. we are going to be watching the president's speech tonight closely. farmers are the backbone of this country. stuart: farmers are going to start receiving a portion of $30 billion in assistance to help make up for last year's losses. to get a piece of $30 billion.

are you happy with that? >> the piece that passed the latter part of last year, $10 billion for farmers in those major, oddities. cotton is participating. farmers need those moneys now, the agriculture secretary, to get those payments out to farmers because we desperately need it. these prices are not good news for america's farmers. we have to use something to curtail the drastic effects, crop losses is what i'm trying to get at. stuart: john boyd junior, thanks for joining us, you're in a difficult position. the nasdaq, back to the markets, the nasdaq is in correction territory, the dow was negative through the year.

tom hayes jointly on the phone. the negatives, tariffs imposed, we got a trade war, inflation that is still not beaten and other things going on as well, the market is way down. is this a buying opportunity? >> unquestionably. this is the buying opportunity of the first quarter. we need to step back and keep in mind that tariffs were raised every single year following the spanish flu in 1918 until 1929 before that. we are nowhere near those tariff levels. howard lutnick has emphasized tariffs, fentanyl related. you stop the fentanyl we will stop the tariffs. that is a huge factor.

axon's president saying residents don't want another massive apartment project 19 have your years after years of overbuilding. a axonpurchased the trust land and manipulated the outgoing city council to change the zoning and save one hundred $50 million which would have gone to fund arizona schools. the lobbyist bill i have been fighting would undo the citizens initiative, to vote on this in the next election and take citizens voice away in arizona and further developers. it is a fight and we will follow it for you. now this, barnard college tasting disciplinary action against masked pro-hamas protesters. alexis mcadams outside columbia university. how many students were disciplined? >> reporter: two students have been disciplined so far but last time i was standing in front of hamilton or columbia university's campus it looks a lot different. it was months ago we saw those

protesters breaking the glass and going inside saying they were not going to leave until the school divested from israel. it took an entire year but now they are facing disciplinary action. watch. so that is just some of what we saw in april. barnard college which is part of columbia university has extolled one student, suspended another for taking part in that violent takeover. enable mass protesters smashing the windows and destroying school property on the ivy league campus, the punishment comes just days after barnard college kicked out two students for disrupting history of israel class in january, they threw these flyers all over the place that said burns in his them to the ground, the school kicked them out, the department of justice will visit 10 campuses deal with anti-semitic protests. >> that's not free-speech. these are criminals harassing and tormenting jewish americans. of the district attorney's don't do it, the us attorney's

yesterday. sanctuary city mayors won't say this, sanctuary city will welcome the community because we are not victims or witnesses of crime. and report crime as a victim -- that is a false narrative because victims and witnesses of crime do not want the bad guy back in the community. they would rather this person be taken into custody after the county is done with them. that's the message. sanctuaries are sanctuary criminals. as far as the mayor of boston saying sanctuary city, 5 of 9 children disagree with her, 9 parents, sets of parents with children were sexually assaulted, ripped by people who are not supposed to be in the country legally. we will provide examples of people in recent custody, ice took a lot of time to find
