buildings burning but around the hotel meant nothing. but we are like kids in a candy score. the close scrutiny when -- we have begun going around the hotel finding interesting things. there is massive journalists that indicates what we wrote and communications basically moni r monitored this is confirmation we were working under this close scrutiny. you have this vehicle that has been abandoned with the rockets and boots ammunition spread all around but absolutely nobody. it is quite an astonishing scene here. >> i would image very dangerous also. you click the safety off you

pull the trigger and you have yourself an unguided missile. it sounds to me that it could be the worse is still to come in terms of violence there in the center of tripoli. >> without a doubt geraldo. i am being told the crews in the green square have been told to leave simply because the rebels are saying they can't guarantee their safety. when we uncovered these rockets they are still wandering around the hotel because they are irritated very awning gree not confrontational. there are these pockets in the city still where these holdsouts refuse to cap pit late they don't see the writing on the wall and they are going to battle to the bitter end. the government spokesperson ibrahim said today some of these people are so deeply intwined with the gaddafi regime to them there is no way out. it is just all the unknown with the rebels really. they are going to duke it out

until the bier end. >> also said they claimed over a thousand casualties civilians dead in the last 24-hours of the nato offensive. that seems totally unrealistic does it not? >> he said many things. somewhere under there there might have been a grain of truth. he said 365 people died the first night of finding on saturday when the up rising first began planned for months when everyone was breaking fast and soldiers would have been preoccupied with getting food after a long day of fasting. that was obviously very well coordinated. he was telling us to do open executions happening with up to 30 people who have been sympathized vocal for the regime had been taken out of their homes in recent days and executed.

you haven't seen any evidence of that on any of the media coverage coming into us and that you are seeing in america. you would think if this was going on then surely we would be seeing it on our television screens. journalists don't turn their back on that kind of thing. somewhere along the line you have to glean the truth from what you have been told. i think both sides have been guilty in this particular conflict over the last six or seven months. they made -- the government made claims it's very hard to believe anything you hear from either side sometimes. >> i am going to go to four star general in just a second. is state television still on the air in tripoli? are you still watching the official state television in tripoli? >> geraldo, you are going to like this. they are showing state television. in the basement of this very building that i am speaking to you from is a studio the likes of which you and i both wish we would have.

of the foreign trade with libya. >> it would be a role to play with security forces to help establish some stability, but i think that is their call. if they feel they need to do that or if they put the stree p back out on the streets to maintain law and order. that is something they need to make judgment about. >> in terms of celebrating or being fearful which side of the fence do you sit tonight? >> i am pretty optimistic. this is a big set back for radical islam. there is nobody in the streets advocating their ideology. quite frankly they want the big two ideas that come from the west democracy and capitalism. that is good news. you certainly don't want to be encouraging people in syria to continue to fight after they see what has happened here. so i think it's mostly positive. we will see what they transition

hue sang's checks she pled guilty receiver add year of probation. you felt she served that time. the clerk indicated she serve that had time concurrent to the time she was in jail waiting for her trial to be resolved. the judge ruled against you said she is going to come back and serve this probation. you are appealing that. now you have wrote her back hoping is that the appellate court will reverse the judge's decision but fearful it does not. where is she now? what is she going to do now? >> we are kinds of in a holding pattern type situation. she has served probation. according to that executive arm of the government she has served

her probation. we have a separate powers issue a double jeopardy issue and it's a mess right now. we are trying to figure it all out. as far as where she is at, we are concerned about her safety. we have her in a location that is very safe and she has people who care about her around her. she is just really just trying to get on with her life. it is proving to be extremely difficult. >> you say you have people around her who care about her is it not a fact she has friends the country's most unpopular person has no friends. does she have friends other than you or her legal team? >> that's the difficult thing to say. the people who have gotten to know her over the past three years have grown to care about her significantly. i have been fortunate to have a very good team with me throughout this journey and

there are people close to the defense that have grown to care about casey very much. the thing that did surprise me about her case is that she had very few friends. in fact none. i found that her friends that were so-called friends ended up being types of people who choose to capitalize off the situation more than they were concerned about casey or caylee for that matter. as it ended up being casey sits in a position where she as very few people in her life and few people who can be with her. >> is it true casey anthony has not a friend in the world? >> i wouldn't disagree with that, was as i have said people associated with defense who have grown to care about her significantly. we all consider ourselves friends of hers. however my situation i am her attorney first and foremost and

there are other people associated with the defense who have grown to care about her. >> okay. gotcha. >> lance would have been her daughter's fir birthday. has casey anthony been in touch with her family? >> she has had limited contact with her parents. >> has she spoken with her pair reptsz? >> yes, absolutely. this past birthday of caylee's was a very difficult time. i am sure it was difficult for the entire family but particularly casey. every time caylee has had a birthday it is -- it has been very difficult for her and you can only image what she is going through now in the ever changing aspect of her life right now and going on without caylee has been

very difficult. is there any chance on god's green earth that casey anthony will move back with her parents? >> that is not my decision to make that's hers. she is really trying to concentrate on getting counseling and therapy and trying to go to a place where she can be healthy and try to figure a lot of what's happened out over the last three years try to figure a lot of that out and go on with her life. whether a reconciliation is included in that aspect of her life i don't know. that is her decision to make. >> this is eating up our time justifiably. but has she spoken to her brother lee? >> no, she has not unfortunately. >> she has not spoken to her. is that her choice or his? >> i think it's really a

situation where she is trying to get a grasp of all that's happened to her. everyone wants to wush in and wants her to do things but quite frankly this is someone who has a lot of figuring out to do as to what is left of her life. i don't think people should be rushing to make her decisions she is going to make them as she goes along and gets more healthy and comes from a healthier place. that's what i think there's no rush on no timetable on. if it will happen it will happen in its due course. >> does she know the depth of the anger and even hatred that she has generated? >> i don't know. i have never had those types of discussions with her. but i can tell you that i don't think she is all that -- she is concentrating all that much on the coverage. the coverage is important to some people who have decided to

make this their entertainment. not entertainment for her it's her life and that is why i don't think she is paying a great deal of attention to the coverage involving her case. >> how will she serve if it the appellate court agrees with the judge. you worried something like happen to her? will she serve that probation with the casey anthony anti sentiment? oo i have been in touch with the department of probation. if our appeals are exhausted we plan on cooperating fully with them. i know she fully intends on doing that. whatever we end up working out with the department of probation you can be assured she will follow the letter of the law and follow her probation.

if we are successful in the appeal which we think we have a valid position she will be going on in the rest of her life. this has been over and done with. this thing is dragged on for whatever reason this has come back. certainly it's time for everyone w to move on and let everyone who is involved in this case go on. >> i have to say that i -- your client is your client. whatever you feel about your client that is one thing. but making you the victim of such a victory ol and anger and outrage you the attorney is out there. i think it has been harsh and understandably so. i hope you make that point. jose baez i am sorry we don't have more time to talk to you tonight. i am sure we will speak again in the future. thank you for being with me.
