opened foo fire at point blank range until one clerk takes the law into his own hands. a former beatle, and an american heiress meeting at the altar and sir paul mccartney takes the bride. day five in the search of a missing baby in missouri. lisa irwin's family reaching out to tens of thousands of nascar fans, hoping to spur the effort to bring the baby home. lisa's aunts during a nascar sprint cup race and the family organizing a reward for any new information. lisa ten months old seen last monday night when her mother put her to sleep in her crib. so many reports coming in since tuesday morning when lisa's father came home from work and found her missing. neighbors received more than 250 tips, followed several leads, but turning up nothing. but in kansas city they're hold on to hope.

there are a lot of people hustling around and i'm sure there's frustration, but like i said, i came from the command post and there are though plans to shut it down and chasing things as they come down and we're going to keep trying. >> gave days in, julie banderas has the latest in the news room. >> this community is holding on to hope and prayer and authorities in kansas city police focus their investigation on the family's neighborhood and more specifically, the parent's yard. today, detectives were seen trying to recreate the alleged kidnapping scene much like a scene on csi. and crime scene investigators were scene scouring the front and back yard, as well as inside the home. police say they weren't responding to a specific tip, but collected more evidence in hopes of turning up new clues. >> when the metal detectors were out here yesterday, they were in the area behind the house and property, and we didn't do the back yard. the family today reconsented so we're going to try the back yard because we haven't. >> today was also the first

time lisa's parents debby bradley and jeremy irwin met with detectives since thursday evening. police said they were no longer cooperating with detectives. the parents denied this and instead said police told her she failed a lie detector test and have accused bradley of being responsible for her daughter's disappearance. the couple says they have undergone hours and hours of interrogation. and grown very weary of answering the same questions over and over again. the family members insist, neither would be responsible for their daughter's disappearance, when the baby's father volunteered to take a lie detector test, he was told by police, it wasn't necessary. >> we just want her back. we need her back. she needs to be home with us, we miss her and we love her. and if they can just drop her off. >> anywhere, a fire department, a hospital, a police station, and just come

in there leave her there and go. we just, we want her home. >> according to local reports, debra bradley is legally married to the father of her first child and police haven't questioned him. they still have no suspects in the case. >> harris: julie, thank you. lawmakers taking new action in the fast and furious investigation with a plan to subpoena top justice officials this coming week. once again they're going after attorney general eric holder for the truth, specifically, exactly what and when holder knew about the government's gun smuggling program. >> why are they denying knowing about something that they were briefed on, exactly when the american people want to know how did it happen? >> the new pressure coming on the heels of a five page letter addressed to congressman darrell issa and other republicans, attorney general holder sent the letter friday reiterating he's been honest about the program all along. more on that in a moment.

you may recall how all of this got started. they set up a sting operation hoping tracking the assault weapons to some of mexican's notorious bosses, but some of the u.s. government guns put in the hands of criminals were discovered by agents after the shooting death of u.s. border patrol agent brian terry. his murder bringing it all into the national spotlight. our steve centanni in the news room. what have you learned about the new subpoenas? >> the new subpoenas will seek to see how high up the chain of command this originated. the idea was to keep track of a shipment of drugs in the mexican drug wars. enstead the feds lost track of the guns and darrell issa believe the feds purposely stopped tracing the guns. >> the justice department oversaw a program that let weapons walk into the hands of the worst of the worst drug cartels. we now have enough information

to know they did it deliberately, with knowledge of who was receiving it and now we want to know more about who authorized it and why. >> now, a group of arizona sheriffs is calling for the ouster of attorney general eric holder. >> nobody's above the law. eric holder is not above the law, president barack obama is not above the law. we don't have a king here and we need these people held accountable. >> well, the sheriffs also want a special counsel appointed to investigate, harris. >> harris: the attorney general's name in this throughout the entire thing and we know about the letter that he sent. what other response have we heard from him? >> right, well, he sends the letter of course, a scathing statement about this whole situation and that was friday. he said he told the truth in may when he informed congress that he only heard about the program for the first time a few weeks earlier. and he took particular issue with the allegation that federal agents were, quote, accessories to murder. holder says such irresponsible and inflammatory rhetoric must be repudiated in the strongest

president obama's plan to put americans back to work, getting a test drive in congress this week. the senate expected to vote on moving forward with debates on the 450 billion dollar jobs bill. the president spent the weekend talking up his proposal ap republican opposing the plan mainly because it raises taxes on the rich. with just over a year before the election, unemployment is still above 9%. the president's plan would cut payroll taxes, extend unemployment benefits and help pay for teachers, police and firefighters. it also touts to prohibit employers from discriminating against applicants who don't have a job. hundreds of occupy wall street demonstrators marching through lower manhattan, again today. speaking out against what they call corporate greed, an and growing gap between the rich and poor. the demonstrations now receiving food and medical supplies and even clothing from across the nations. the nearly four week old protest began in lower manhattan has spread to other cities.

as the protests grow, stirring strong responses from washington. g.o.p. presidential candidate herman cain calling it anti-american and accuses of unions of playing a big role. >> we know that the unions and certain union related organizations have been behind these protests that have gone on on wall street and other parts around the country. it's coordinated to create a distraction so people won't focus on the failed policies of this administration. >> harris: majority house leader eric cantor was just as blunt, growing mobs, criticisms of demonstrations not sitting well with some people across the political aisle. on abc's this week, house leader nancy pelosi said republicans did not object to the tea party organization when it spread. i didn't hear him protesting when the tea party and spritting on mels of the capitol and he and his colleagues putting signs in the window encouraging them.

and they're battling around tahrir square and they're holding the hotel there and the palace, the major strong holds they still have at this time. earlier today, seems they made a break through the rebels did, when they took the convention center. now, this was a command and control base for gaddafi followers in sirte. after taking that seems to have control of large parts of the city at this time. there is still, of course, concerns about the civilians still trapped and maybe many thousands of them still in the city. we understand that they're still pouring out of the place at the time and there is concerns that there may be some violence against them from the revolutionary forces, but they do actually deny this at this time. and libya's national transitional authority is saying that once sirte, is, as they say, liberated, they can declare the country free and they'll then push on towards

free elections and also, rebuilding this country. but, it he same time, there is one other strong hold, and this is landlocked deep in the desert and they say it's inconsequential for the future of the country aen they will take that once they move forces there, it has been a very tough nut to crack for the men there because of the high terrain and also, the powerful weapons, gaddafi followers, have been firing at them. as for muammar gadty, no one really knows where he is. he actually came up on syrian based tv the past few days calling on the libyan people to rise up and defeat what he described as the n.a.t.o. collaborators, but here in tripoli there hasn't been any incidents for over a month and they're really just waiting now for sirte to be liberated, back to you, harris. >> david piper reporting tonight from libya. tough talk from syria, warning the world not to recognize the

himself in the line of fire, firing back during a robbery caught on camera. watch, it's a stickup in progress. as the gas station in houston is under siege. you clearly see the robbers lung across the counter at the clerk, brandishing guns as the video switches to an overhead view and one of the thugs opens fire and hits the clerk in the leg and the partner jumps over-the-counter and ransacks it. keep an eye on the clerk, hiding to the right and manages to grab a gun and police say he shot back, hitting a suspect. and that guy took off and air force say they nabbed him bleeding at a nearby home and police saying at least seven rounds were fired inside that store by the time the texas shootout came to an end. two other suspects still on the loose, wow! well, surveillance cameras like that, as you might imagine, are a important tool for police. what if officers can tap into public and private cameras in

quickly get that information out to the officers that are responding to the scene. >> now, some privacy advocates say this is too much big brother and a.c.l.u. says it's an invasion of privacy when they're watching your daily trends and activities and spoke with jay stanley from the a.c.l.u. and gave this statement. in america, we don't allow the authorities to watch over everything we do, just in case we might do something wrong. that once against our nation's oldest tradition of privacy. the government isn't supposed to look over your shoulder unless it has specific information that you're involved in wrongdoing. and stanley went on to say he doesn't have proof that these cameras are effective, however, local authorities will adamantly disagree, harris, back to you. >> harris: thank you very much. we're learning more about the bizarre wal-mart bleach fight that sent 19 to the hospital and required a hazmat.

top of the news. new efforts to find a baby missing in missouri now for five days, ten month old lisa irwin's aunt spearheading a move to hand out thousands of flyers to nascar fans at the kansas speedway, hoping someone will recognize the baby and help bring her home. lisa's parents saying she was snatched from her crib monday night into tuesday and investigators say so far they have no solid leads. german and french leaders saying they reached the deal to strengthen europe's bank and the plan expect today save europe from the brink of bankruptcy. and the proposal was discussed mopping other european leaders. actress zsa zsa gabor's husband, it treated at the hospital and says she's treated for an infection, doing better than yesterday. gabor 94 years old, rushed to the hospital when a tube in her stomach came loose and led to bleeding. the surge r i is expect today reattach at that tube.

well, new concerns tonight over the growing solyndra scandal. that's the solar energy company that got a half billion dollar loan guarantee from the energy department and then went bankrupt and house chair darrell issa is woirtd that it may point to a pattern of similar investments. we'll hear from him. but let's look how solyndra and the scandal unfolded. march of 2009 the energy department announcing solyndra will receive 535 million dollars, loan guarantee. president obama visits solyndra and calls it a symbol of progress. six months later. solyndra announces layoffs. nearly 180 full and part-time employees let go. february of this year, the house launches an investigation into the energy department stimulus funding, the focus, solyndra's loan guarantee. august, 2011 solyndra shuts its doors and announces it's filing for chapter 11

bankruptcy and raising serious questions why slolyndra got the taxpayer funded program in the first place. >> reporter: it isn't the loan itself according to darrell issa, the big problem someone sub bort nated the process to get the loan, he wants to know who did it, how they did it and make sure they don't do it again. >> how they pick winners or losers, remember, this was a 500 million dollar ear mark effectively by political eye pointees. something you hear about with the congress, don't always hear about with the president. my committee and my circumstances and energy in commerce is doing a good job. my jurisdiction is how to figure out how it doesn't happen again. >> president obama insists his administration did homework on solyndra he concedes that giving them 535 million dollars is in some ways just a
