takes a toll on the family. so that's my number one priority. many of my supporters, the response has been overwhelmingly positive they are behind me. but i've got to consider family considerations first, and then the third thing i have to consider here is what happens to contributions. so, like a businessman, sean, when you have a bump in the road, you reconsider and re-evaluate, and if some people in the media don't want to give me that opportunity, but i'm going to take that opportunity to re-assess and re-evaluate to decide whether to go from here. >> you am you've known this woman for 13 years. you have been adamant saying there was no sexual relationship whatsoever withthis woman. if all of these texts were released, some 60 we know of, is there any flirting, any inappropriate talk, there is anything that your wife would be

story. i guess the issue you're going to work this out with your wife. one of the issues that has come out publicly, you have not discussed this with her. what is going on with her and what is she saying to you? >> , that. she was hurt that she didn't know about this friend i was helping financially. she was aware of many of the other friends that i have helped. there has been a male friend i helped she di't know about because it wasn't a big deal. i wasn't intentionally trying to keep it to her. but i have talked to my wife and been totally honest with her. she has forgiven me and loves me and is ready to move on. it's just the media isn't ready to move on. that's why we have to re-assess this. so the discussion between my wife and i, those are coming long fine. it's a blessing from god i have a wife that loves me they way she does. she loves me deeply, and, yes, i have made mistakes, we all have

wife and family, you would have to leave because of scurrilous false allegations? >> that's obviously one option, sean, and the commitment i have made is before monday dish haven't set the exact date -- before monday we'll make a decision. we'll make a. you're absolutely right. think about this. this -- in the course of now three and a half weeks, i have been hit with three separate charges of this nature, okay? even when the first two we thought were dying down because they didn't get legs because the true so-called accusers didn't bring forthany evidence, and the fact of theatter is this so-called evidence -- what evidence is there? i send checks to a lot of people. i help a lot of people. that in itself is not proof. so the other allegation in terms of it being a 13-year physical relationship, that is her word against my word.
6:16 pm
based upon the evidence she has presented. but you're right. think about this. think about it. the reason that i'm doing this reassessment, it's not fair to my family, it's not fair to my supporters, it's not fair to this campaign, it's every week, now three out of four weeks, on a monday of all days, we've been hit with another one of these accusations that we now have to address to basically prove, once again, i didn't do some of the things i've been accused of doing. of course it's distracting, and gets us off message. >> so much has been made about the fact that texts were sent at 4:30 in the morning, and then you have somebody like congressman west and said it's probably best you step aside. i want to get your reaction. >> well, first of all, somebody can send somebody a text at 4:30 in the morning and you might not
6:17 pm
read it until you wake up. i wasn't sending any text at 4:30 in the morning. i'm either sleeping or working. congressman west's comment, i respect him and that's absolutely his right to feel that way. in fact, others feel the same way because they believe that it is a distraction to the republican primary process, and i agree with that. obviously that is another consideration. but the primary consideration starts with my family, and the fact that people feel that way, i understand that. i would feel the same way. because this whole series of accusations is one of the -- will put a lot of doubt in a lot of people's mind for a long time. let me have one last point. we don't have the source yet, but i and many of my associates and many of my people are
6:18 pm
convinced tha in every case it was financially motivated, that somebody somewhere is paying them off to try ansmear my character in order to slow me down. >> who do you think might be responsible for that? >> season, i have no idea. i'm just saying, if you look at the circumstance, especially of the lady that gloria allred represented, and you look at this situation, both have very similar circumstances that suggest dire financial straits. so we don't have any evidence yet but i assure you we're getting to the bottom of it. i already started that process, and when we come back at it not going to be based upon rumor or he-shade-she-shade, it's going to be based upon factual information that we can present in order to show i have not done many of the things i have

accused of. >> part of this that really struck me is that she is claiming this affair would have gone on during a point where you had stage four cancer, and people argue, stage four, you're at death's door and fighting for every -- fighting for your life. last question, and then i promise this is it. when do you think, in your mind, you're going to make a decision? before monday? >> yes. i'm going to make -- i'm going to make a decision before monday. now, before monday, and we have to work out the logistics yet. the decision could be we're going to continue with this campaign, full speed ahead. the decision could be we're going to suspend the campaign. that's why i'm doing the reassessment. now, i was asked a question today at the union leader newspaper in new hampshire, if my wife says, you know,
6:20 pm
terminate the campaign, would i quit? the answer is, yes, but she wouldn't do that. that's not the kind of wife i have. my wife has been supportive of me, she is with me. if we determine -- if, if, if, we decide i should not continue withthis campaign issue will make the decision. she will be there to help me think through what it in the best interests of the family and the best interest of me and the best interests of the campaign. so, you know what, sean? just like when i went through stage four cancer, my supportive, aboving -- loving wife, gloria, was with me every step of the day, and if it wasn't for my faith in god and having her with me, i wouldn't have made it through that year,
6:21 pm
and now five years later i'm cancer free. so she has been through me all of this and there's things i am not proud of for not having told her about it but she loves me. so the good news is i have a loving supportive wife that is going to support me as well as my loving kids. >> you're saying -- i'm listening very closely to your, herman, and somebody that has known you for a long time. you've never cheated on your wife. never been inappropriate. these allegations keep coming up, and you're going to fight them whether you stay in or not. last question. i promise. >> yes. sean, i'm going to fight them no matter what. you're absolutely right. okay? >> all right. herman cain. i know your busy. thank you for taming the time to be with us. >> thanks, sean. >> as newt gingrich serges ahead, a war of words has
