9:03 pm
will see coming in iowa. what i make is, i think ron paul could win this because of organizations putting it into it. he can win this. i think it's very possible that with perry coming on a little bit, everybody is tightening between romney and gingrich. paul slips in with 22% or 23%. >> look. paul's followers are passionate. >> absolutely. >> all candidates received scrutiny. latest one is newt gingrich, surging in the polls. mitt romed -- romney had a chance. i like the idea ron paul says i've cut a trillion dollars immediately. i cannot reconcile with his foreign policy. but did he get a pass? he's had this news letter in 80s and 90s with unbelievable things written in it. order only restored in l.a. when it came times for blacks

9:06 pm
done to this country. we could not want it to be about personality autos but it's getting personal. look. romney and newt have been going ate now back and forth. we saw it a little bit of saturday night. and i suspect tomorrow night right here goitsing to be pretty explosive. >> it's going to be rough. getting in general, what is the general thing about? i think the biggest weakness newt has is that we don't want the general election to be about his stories and there will be stories. i like newt. i think that it's going to be about him. i don't think he can beat barack obama. i wish mitt romney had a better record. i think right now he's a better candidate. >> you're endorsing romney? >> not endorsing romney. >> sean: your analysis is that he should be the nominee? >> i think john huntsman is the most conserve tiff

9:16 pm
is what bill bennett was just talking to you about, then you have to say right now it's romney. just look at the poll numbers. he does better against obama than gingrich does. the story, and this picks up on what you were talking about, the republican establishment has come out with long knives and a trying to absolutely carve up newt gingrich in advance of the iowa caucus. that is what is going on in the polls. where we see newt's numbers moderating some. had a "wall street journal" journal poll, up by 17. others show him going down from where he was a week ago. it's interesting. romney is not getting anymore support be. you see santorum, bachmann, people who are social conservatives, benefiting a little bit. that's good for romney. >> sean: i will tell you, i have pointed this out for a long time, there is an establishment mentality. i got to tell you, they are all saying the same thing. the global warming ad, i asked newt about it. he said it was stupid. paul ryan said as a friend of mine, i apologize, trying to
