good to have you back. you said that and i read the transcript. you were on with judge piero. you said you would have voted for newt. i asked you about florida, you said your endorsement doesn't matter. if would vote for newt if you were voting tomorrow? >> i would keep the process voting. there is only a few states to chime in on who the nominee is. who is best able to defend our republic. who is able to garner the support of independents and tea party patriots and those will have to have the energy and resources to face barack obama. who has been sharpened and shaped through the school of hard knocks. virtues learned there will be beneficial in serving our country. we find out who that person is.

we mesh them out through competition. this competitive process i would like to see continue. the more ideas debated the fairer it is to the electorate. it will breed success for america. competition doesn't just shape character but rebuilds it. one of the characteristics in order to save our country. we need a big dog who will bite when they rattle our cage. they, when i spook of they, i'm talking about government big spenders who can't balance a budget because they've never done it before. who would lock up our resources and amass debt and can't argue against obamacare and other liberties being stripped. ultimately being slaves to government and other countries,

we need a big dog who is passion ast not embracing the status quo but shaping it up. >> sean: it's funny you talk about the process. it's ongoing process. when i think i have all my questions answered by the candidates, there is developments every day. you think after 19 debates you would know everything you want about them. what i observed about south carolina the debate performances in the florida debates, both santorum and mitt romney got stronger. the reason they got stronger, they knew they had to step up because newt had the moments that defined him in south carolina. we are learning more about them even after 19 debates and after tomorrow, four primaries, right? >> that is the beauty of competition. look at your son with this his tennis competition. he would not grow as a tennis

player if he were only to be in competition he knew he was going to win and he wasn't going to be challenged. no you have to rise to the occasion. and santorum in the last debate as he took on the depths of obamacare and he did challenge the other candidates who had in the past voiced support for government mandating fewer choices in healthcare for the american public. >> sean: let me go to this piece that you wrote friday. i refer to it a number of times on friday program. you released it late eastern time. it was cannibals and gop establishment employing the tactics of the left. you said talking about leading into the primary we have witnessed something very disturbing. you talked about the establishment that fought ronald reagan and continues to fight the grassroots tea party

movement today have adopted the tactics of the left using the media for the politics of personal destruction. it's gotten pretty vicious now between newt and governor romney in particular. what are you trying to say here? >> it's gotten vicious. i'm not whining about the viciousness. i don't think anybody should. what i will call people out on is when they choose to lie about a candidate. what we have seen in the politics of personal discussion have been based on lies told about individual candidates. whether it is an attack that their if i have in ads or candidate accusing another candidate. they need to be called out. that is why some of these people feel disenchanted with our political process today. we feel disenfranchised by the

way it should be with good people wanting to run for office based on fairness. it's not a bad thing to ask for fairness, it means telling the truth and debating relevant ideas and relevant solutions. not all this personal stuff. >> sean: what specifically is bothering you. you said we are going to look back and realize in week that something has changed. this week is beyond the pale. what is it that motivated you watching this race to say that? >> specifically enough was enough when i started seeing rewritten history about gingrich's relationship with ronald reagan and the '70s and '80s. how he under reagan and his advisors, how they were able to shape gingrich's ideas on how to balance the budget and how to

reform welfare and look for ways to create more efficiency in government and we could cut taxes and spur economic growth. when i saw that rewritten by the establishment, for what its worth i'm going to voice my opposition to that false narrative being rewritten. it doesn't mean i'm boosting one candidate. i'm going say good things about every have any gop candidate but enough was enough about the lies being told about newt gingrich and his relationship with ronald reagan. >> sean: you said it was about gop establishment and tea party grassroots and independent americans e, explain who this establishment is versus the tea party? in other words, i don't know if tea party endorsing one candidate over the other. >> the establishment would be

those who do embrace the status quo and give voice to some reform that is needed but they haven't engaged in the reform. they have never been ones to working on balancing the budget. they never balanced a federal government before. that hasn't happened since gingrich and clinton worked together. it would be those that embraced the establishment and knowing insider trade information that is privileged benefit that is given to congress is wrong, unethical and should be illegal but they have been a part of it and allowed it to continue. things like that really make voters sick to their stomachs and disgusted with our politics today. anyone who would embrace that is part of that establishment. both sides of the aisle are to blame. >> sean: when we come back, you talk about the good on and bad about newt.

>> sean: welcome back. still ahead, newt romney and dick morris will join us as we countdown to the all important primary in florida. we continue with sarah palin. you said in your piece, you said in florida you would vote for newt tomorrow. we all know newt gingrich, both the good and bad. what do you see as his strength and his weaknesses? >> i see his experience in washington actually as a strength heading into competition against barack obama. again, he who has been one of the few to work on a balanced budget in the federal government. that is what we need. he being quite passionate about shaking things up and not allowing the status quo to continue that is a strength of newt. >> sean: weaknesses?

>> you know, i hate to list all four candidates what they are they are being bombarded by one another. let me talk about their strengths. i have such faith and respect and wisdom of the people. i know they are going to make up their own minds. >> sean: then you talk, for example, you have great respect for governor romney but you have some questions about him. you said i respect his success and concerns about his record and as a politician, he consistently applied conservative principles. this is newt making the argument he has changed on some positions abortion and guns. are you getting convinced i a.m. conservative i'll repeal obamacare and lower taxes. he is convincing with you these arguments in fact, you would have more faith the governor you would want a conservative to

govern? >> i think she surrounded by hard-core conservatives who understand that government is not the solution. he would be directed into more of the fiscally conservative positions and socially conservative positions i think the majority of our nation would respect and expect. i respect mitt romney's success. his father worked very hard and his was a governor and ran for president. he has got that lineage within his family of success and politics, things that worked in the past that allowed his dad to be successful. he has learned from that. i think that is to be admired as is mitt romney obviously a good family man in my eyes. i respect that. >> sean: let's go to rick santorum. it's interesting because newt and romney are battling each other so much.

firsthand luntz that rick santorum won the last debate. he has gotten stronger in the debates. he did in iowa when the final votes were counted in the caucus in iowa. what about rick santorum? >> i am a great admirer of rick. i admire he was a warrior out on the field for all those years taking those shots because he is quite bold about his socially conservative views and he believes getting back to a stronger judeau christian foundation is going to be security for our nation and i so respect that. rick santorum has provided great benefit to these debates and another reason why i want the competition to continue. i want to hear more as we talks about not just socially conservative positions that he believes our nation should take and stand strong upon but

fiscally also and with foreign policy positions, we need to be friends with israel and we need to protect our allies and not be an isolationist nation. >> sean: i've asked you this about ron paul. you agree with him on economic policy but not on foreign policy? >> i respect ron paul and his supporters for the energy and fiscal ideas they bring forth when we talk about a nation that is going further and further in debt as our nation is and what we're going to do about it. his austerity ideas is right on. i respect that. i want to encourage him, too, to keep being bold and speak about the solutions for our economy. >> sean: governor, good to see you. this might be a good admonition to people, at the end of the day

>> sean: few short hours the polls will open in the great state of florida and those voters will select the presidential candidate they would like to see take on barack obama. joining me from florida is presidential candidate, newt gingrich. you are going to keep earning that vote every state by the looks of it. what is that? >> she is big help in the south carolina victory. todd paslin doing calls for us. governor perry and herman cain has been and mike reagan is going around the state reassuring i am the reagan candidate in this situation. bob livingston, bob walker has been here. the attorney general has been doing great job as statewide

chairman. we feel we have a vibrant organization. we have jose who ran marco rubio's organization. and one move my daughters live in key business cane and she has been doing spanish interviews and my other daughter has been going and giving speeches. >> sean: whoever i talk to, every e-mail, i'm on hannity and twitter. everything is about this campaign. a lot of the questions i'm getting what the people are talking about the tone. one i think it's made all of you stronger. whoever goes up against barack obama is going to get a billion dollars worth of sneers but on the other hand people are complaining about it. i want to get your take on the tone. >> i wish it was all positive.

campaigning in the fall it was all positive we were doing terrific. we were happy talking about big ideas, how to create jobs, how to balance the budget. how to create a new social security opportunity for younger americans. lots of positive ideas. unfortunately that is not how politics and america is played at one level. sou you are in a slug go match for a while. that is all right, too. by the time we're done, by the time we get to the convention in tampa, we'll have a lot better understanding who can take on obama and what this is all about. the thing that strikes me there is a vibrant conservative movement in this country that really wants a conservative nominee and really believes that nominating a moderate that did it in 1996, it failed, in 2008 it failed. but nominating a moderate will not work if you are trying to beat barack obama. >> sean: you find yourself in a

position defending your reagan commercials. elliot abrams wrote a hard hitting piece, taking your speech out of context. this is another question that people are asking me. if you get the nomination. how hard will you be on barack obama? you said it was unilaterally or going to fight back with governor romney. you guys are going back and forth. is there anything off the table when it comes to obama if you get the nomination? >> both romney and with barack obama who is sort of george soros' favorite two choices, nothing is off the table. president obama has enough weaknesses i say all the time. he is the best food stamp president in american history. i want to run a campaign on jobs

contrasted with unemployment and food stamps. every community in america and every ethnic group, the paycheck and job candidate is going to beat the food stamp and unemployment candidate. i have announced today for example i would immediately on the very first day issue an executive order that repeals all of the anti-religious bigotry that obama is putting into place which the catholic church did a letter in every single church in the country because they feel the obama administration is on war on christianity. what kind of insurance church organizations have to offer. i would issue an executive order to build the keystone pipeline as of that day. i'm trying to communicate publicly so the people of canada understand, you don't have to cut a deal with the chinese. you don't have to go build the pipeline across the rockies.

give us until november, when we beat obama, you'll have a chance to build that pipeline in january of 2013. these are clear distinctions with barack obama that are very decisive. >> sean: explain your first 30 days. start with the first day, walk me through the first hundred days. what can you accomplish legislatively? >> first of all let's start with the 3rd of january 17 days before i'm sworn in, i will ask the congress to stay in session. i'll ask them to repeal obamacare, dodd-frank that is killing small banks and killing small business and to are repeal one other. my request to have all three repeals ready so the day i'm sworn in i can sign them all that day. that is a real start. on the very first day, have an entire series of executive orders all of which will be published by 1st of october so

everybody will know it's coming. executive order number one, abolish all of the white house czars of that moment reinstating reagan's mexico city policy, no tax for abortion and no religious group, no doctor, no pharmacist, no nurse or hospital could be forced to anti-religious. number four the state department will open the embassy in jerusalem in recognize its own rights to name its own capital. go down the series of those things. we'll have a series of those things. my goal is not the first 30 days my day is at the end of the first day we will have repeeltd 40% of obama's government and things rolling towards creating jobs, solve the housing crisis.

starting implement the tenth amendment where governor perry has agreed he will head up a tenth amendment enforcement project. >> sean: what will you need the legislature and congress and senate to do? >> this has to be a team campaign. as i did i did with ronald reagan when i chaired the committee that brought all the candidates together and 1994 when we had 350 congressional candidates come together to be all the same ticket, i tell every audience in florida, we have to replace bill nelson with a conservative. my goal is to have a team election with a team contract that brings together a momentum so that all -- this is an american campaign, not just a republican campaign. for example, everybody would rather have a paycheck and food stamps, you are welcome. we want you to joy us. everybody that believes declaration of independence,

join us. anybody that wants to have a strong america rather than weakness, you are welcome, come and join us. we would like to have a big legislative majority going into january of 2013. wait to do that is to run a campaign based on big ideas that draw people together. >> sean: you said i wouldn't debate obama if the media moderates and if that is only option what would you do? >> i think the way to convince barack obama he ought to be open to a different style of debate. i think the way to do that is what lincoln did to douglas did, literally follow his speeches by four hours and repudiate his speech until he agrees to debate. they debated seven times with a time keeper but to no moderator. there was reporter gets to decide what questions matters.

aggressive campaign in florida. i got beaten in south carolina by very strong attacks. we responded to make sure my message cut through. i'm pleased with the fact at this stage i'm getting a great response to from the people of florida and hope to win tomorrow. >> sean: governor palin, we spoke with her earlier, she made a valid point. you've gotten your fair share of attacks and newt has gotten his fair share. she thinks we're going to look back on this primary she says something has changed. this is a disturbing week. specifically she is talking about reagan's length commandment. is the way to get back on the issues and attacks stopped. you d.c. insider that he resigned in disgrace, you had harsh words for the speaker as well? >> we to have describe our respective views about what qualifies us for the position of

leadership. this is after all a grueling test where people get to see the ins and outs and views of the different candidates. i'm proud i spent my life outside washington and he spent his life inside washington. washington insiders that have lived there since 1978. he is the guy to vote for. if you need somebody from outside washington i am. but barack obama. >> sean: let me ask this. speaking of barack obama. the campaign has been aggressive. an argument can be made maybe it's making some people uncomfortable. end up being a good process because it will be billion dollars that will be waged against you. it will be a billion dollars against the republicans. you want dirty air and dirty

water and kids and autism and elderly defending themselves. that is what they said already. i guess, if you get the nomination are you willing to go against president obama. bill ayers fair game. is it just the economy or foreign policy or some of his background that was ignored in 2008 is that legitimate? >> i think anything that is truthful about a is legitimate to discuss in a campaign. there is no question, president obama has a lot of explaining to do. he has failed the american people. he didn't turn the economy around. he didn't get us more safe from iran. he has failed. i will point that out day in and day out. i'm afraid president obama will do what he's been doing is dissenting from the truth and i think american people see through it. you listen to speaker gingrich

do all these attacks on me. no one believes that. it's been so incredible that people just don't listen anymore. >> sean: you are not concerned about, for example the picture when paul ryan throwing granny over the cliff. maybe it will be mitt romney if you get the nomination. that is pretty harsh, in the past these tactics have been somewhat effective. you are not concerned about that? >> i think you are right. billion dollars everything in their power to hang on to power. we're going to have to be able to stand up and fight back hard. we'll point out for instance with regards to throwing grandma off the cliff ad, one president in history who kept medicare by $500 billion and that barack obama and he cut it to pay for obamacare. he is vulnerable as long as the

record is being examined. it's not a bad process to get it out there. we have to look at his record and all that he has done that has failed the american people. >> sean: as a conservative i think to get america back on track we're going to need bold change. let's assume you win the nomination. let's assume you beat barack obama, let's assume you just got sworn in as president. walk us through the first 30, 60 hundred days, what can you get accomplished. what do you need by executive order. how much can you get accomplished legislatively. >> day one, halt to obamacare by granting a waiver to all 50 states. i would give licenses to those companies that have been approved for drilling for gas and oil on federal lands that are authorized, let's get that gas and oil into this country. i would say with executive order you don't have to necessarily

use unions to do work on government projects. i label china as a currency manipulator and where they are killing american jobs by hacking into our computers. we're going to have a program that goes aggressively to get this economy going. we'll lower our tax rate particularly for people in the middle income category. folks making under $200,000 to be able to save their money. we need to keep our attention what is happening internationally and iran is a great threat. for them to become nuclear is unacceptable. we have to develop military plan of options but a crippling sanctions program and effort to disrupt the course of that leadership there. we're going to have to take actions on international and domestic really on day one and in the days that follow. >> sean: good to see you governor. thank you so much for being with us. we'll be watching the florida

>> sean: welcome back to hannity. polls will open in a handful of hours, now you have heard from romney and gingrich, dick morris joins me with his predictions. ask him couple of same questions one about the tone of the contest right now. what they would do in the first day, week, 30 days, hundred days different answers, i want to know what you thought? >> i thought it was excellent you did that. the answers were very revealing,

not too much about the tone of the campaign but gingrich listed both answers were excellent and newt listed a variety of things about the conscience of providers of services to children. catholic church being able to be in the social services arena. a variety of things that in addition to repealing obamacare and dodd-frank but most part with social conservative hot buttons. romney spoke about opening drilling rights and federal lands, not requiring unionization as prerequisite to get government work but it shows the difference in emphasis between the two candidates. wait i could phrase in it a way i think is fair to both of them, i could say if you believe the most important thing in united states right now is to get competent back on track, produce

jobs and get out recession and sit up the basis for a long term prosperity you probably want to support romney. if you feel the most important thing is repeal obamacare agenda repeal epa regulations and social engineering and income redistribution stuff, you probably want to vote for gingrich. not that gingrich won't be goog on economy and not that romney won't be good on the social issues but it's the difference between them. romney is an economic development guy who has learned to be a social conservative. gingrich is a social conservative and national security conservative who has learned to be a free market economics guy. i think that it's fascinating difference in shades of emphasis >> sean: it's interesting, maybe i heard it differently. i heard them both talk about repealing obamacare and both talking about drilling.

you heard it differently. >> i heard a businessman discussing the impact of regulations on the economy and with gingrich i heard a genuine, true social conservative discussing the impact of federal policies on values. to me it was a different emphasis. i think a fascinating and extraordinarily interesting one. >> sean: this doesn't end here either. we have a proportional distribution of delegates, five or six-point race in favor of romney. >> winner take all. >> but they moved up their primary so that is going to have a big impact. up until march we're dealing with proportional distribution. this doesn't end in florida tomorrow night. it depends on the outcome. if gingrich wins or comes close, this does not end in florida and goes on through sper tuesday and

maybe ends then and into april. if romney wins by the double digits that some of the polls say i do think it ends tomorrow night i think romney will win nevada, maine, colorado, missouri, michigan and arizona. states that vote in february. there is only one debate and he has to make a huge acceleration to get the money on march 6th to run in all those states. unless he is propelled by a florida victory like south carolina victory, you he won't get the momentum to be able to tackle super tuesday. >> sean: i would guarantee you it would go through that and probably beyond that. you predict he would win south carolina it's been pretty

unpredictable. >> i think i did all three. santorum to win iowa, romney would win south carolina. >> sean: i wanted to know the predictions and time. >> and new hampshire, after south carolina, gingrich's firewall. >> sean: talk about the tone and how it divided the different camps. we'll talk more with dick morris after the break. we have an announcement that i can't tell you tonight but i'll tell you tomorrow night.
