>> mike: thank you very much. and thank you to the huckabee show. this wednesday is 44 years since dr. king junior was assassinated. it was just shy of my 12th birthday but i remember vitchidly the tragic murder of a man who taught and lived nonviolent resistance. the honorable memory of a christian leader who based his teachings on the new testament was besnirched boy those who riot in the street and loot businesses . doing the things that dr. king spoke out against and resisted such as violence and indiscriminate hatred.

they dishonored his life work and memory. some exploited and fanned the fans of racism and others stirred outright mayhem. there were voices of reason and compassion that spoke about the windows of hen. the governor in arkansas. and the day after dr. king was killed. governor rockefeller stood with black leaders and linked arms with them and sang we shall overcome as a tribute to dr. king. it was a marvelous lack of courage since in southern capitols, governors celebrated the death. because of the vision of dr. king and his bold dream and willingness of the governor to take a stand for rightousness, things are

different today. no longer are there water fountains and rest rooms for people of color. no longer do they sit in different waiting rooms. and no longer does a person of color receive a different wage than a white person for the same job. and that doesn't mean our country embraced the heart and spirit of dr. king. heartbreaking killing of an unarmed 15 year old reignited bigotry and anger. some are exploiting the death of a teen to raise money and profile by pretending to be outraged for the cameras and the real goal is not for justice but raising their own personal profile. since we don't know yet what really happened that night in florida, maybe fewer speechs and tierce would be in order.

and as a result a lot of democratic senate incumbents are running poorly in their reelection races. nemson, the senator from florida who is at 36 percent of the vote. mack, his republican opponent is at 43. and missouri sarah stillman is 10 points ahead of clar mksco. and in hoar -- ohio. sharron brown is trailing the state treasure by 44-40. undecided guessusually goes against the incumbent. it looks like a defeat for brown. but the following states have democratic senators and republicans are leading. virginia, where alknow is ahead and florida and nebraska

and missouri, and montana where reyesburg is ahead. and ohio. and even in other states like michigan, within five points. that is north dakota also. >> and we are talking about a shift. how many seats do you think will shift over. some will keep their seats. tell us what you see the make up of the u.s. senate being after november? >> a lot can happen between now and then. you look at current polling and you project it. you are looking at a republican gain of 10 seats and a probably loss of twompt we might lose scott brown in massachusetts and olympia snow, will go to angus king who is an independent and really a democrat. i think it may be a net republican pick up of 8 seats and give the republicans if i

have seats in the senate and basically practically not officially 60. would assure passage which would be president mitt romney's agenda. >> the audience agrees with that. >> but you think that no matter whether it is it mitt romney, santorum or newt gingrich. obviously mitt romney is on track. and you think that mitt romney beats obama in the fall and why? >> the accurate poll by rassmusen. the others do registered vores. and that is not a good measurement and those likely to vote. obama 46-45 . when incumbent is at 46 percent of the vote that means undecided goes with the challenger. i did a study and went back to

1964 and measured the last gall up poll and where did the undecided q. when there was an incumbent president. 80 percent of the time to a challenger. if i ask my wife, are you going to be married to the same guy next year. and she said honey, i am undecided. >> bylet way, she called and wanted me to pass on she's undecided. i know her very well that is a good analogy. >> this is a tough week for president obama in many wayings. and specifically i am referencing his open mike gaffe with the soviet president. what is it that he is doing that makes him vulnerable and other people vulnerable? >> first the open mike then. what he's telling putin in that conversation, is that the

united states will reassert what bill clinton did which was to agree not to improve your anti-missile and keep them in the same level and not make them better. bush scrapped that commitment and made them better and putin is desperate for obama to reinstate the commitment not to improve them? why? he wanted the missile threat credible. he wants the country -- make yourself weaker. >> and that would be crazy that obama is conceding the point. >> he's going to do it and you know darn well, the russian will give their technology to iran and north korea. right now we have a capacity to protect this country against missile. last 24 times there was a missile and we kill would all

million. there is not a single presidential election won by 10 million. >> mike: this is what i found startling. i am a believer and i see what the christian voting trend people who self identify as believers. 65 million of the 100 million call themselves christian believers and did not vote. and the margin was 10 million. if those 65 million had voted, the election would have been turned. >> you can look forward and say that we have our finger on the pulse of what is happening today if we will grab hold. >> mike: why don't people vote? >> two reasons. they think that their vote doesn't matter. if you look at statistics and if you look back to germany and what happened and understand that that was a population of 80 million people and the nazi party never had more than 8.5 million people . literally 10 percent of that

country dragged those people in the nightmare. 10 percent can do that. 10 percent of us can get together and pull our place -- country in place that founding fathers intended. they may not identify any of them. but we have to understand right now. if you look at us like a ship and we are headed for an iceburg. maybe you don't have the captain thal turn around. but maybe it happens in four years or eight years. but right now, if we don't change the direction, we'll hit the iceberg. we need to find somebody who lines up with abortion or economics and vote. christians think you have to find somebody perfect and agrees with them on every point. >> mike: no one is going to satisfy a hundred different things they want. >> we know that there was only
