with among other things, keeping the president of the united states alive. 11 agents put on administrative leave after allegations of wild partying allegedly with prostitutes in colombia days before president obama was due to arrive for a summit there. and for this development the five u.s. service members implicated in the scandal now confined to quarters and president obama speaking out about this a short time ago in colombia saying the director of the secret service is heading up the investigation personally. >> i expect that investigation to be thorough and i expect it to be rigorous. if it turns out some of the allegations made in the the press are confirmed, then, of course i'll be angry. >> harris: and all new tonight, congress set to launch a full investigation of its own, into what's going on. congressman peter king of new york saying his panel will likely hold a hearing on the the incident as well.

meanwhile, republican congressman darrell issa, who leads the the powerful house oversite and reform committee says he fears this is the not the first time something like this has happened and that more agents could be involved. he told face the nation, lawmakers will be looking over the shoulder of the secret service investigation. >> we've got to ask where are the systems in place to prevent this in the future and the reason the investigation will not be about the 11 or 20 or more involved. it will be how did this happen and how often has this happened before. >> and the obama administration saying the president was never in any danger. our wendell goler is travelling with the president and joining us now from colombia, wendell? >> harris, the incident appears not to have overshadowed the summit. no indication that the leaders talked about it, but dominated u.s. news coverage and head apologized for the distraction

and president obama made clear his personal disappointment. >> we're here on behalf of our people and that means that we conduct ourselves with the utmost dignity and probing and obviously, what's been reported doesn't match up with the standards. >> it appears that secret service agents brought prostitutes back to their rooms in this hotel and some either refused to pay the women or the guest charge at the hotel, in the ruckus that follows at the hotel security, if not local police became involved and officials say the incident didn't creep into the talks of the summit and the president's personal secret service detail wasn't involved and security wasn't compromised, but darrell issa says that prostitutes opens the possibility of blackmail. >> the question is, is the whole organization in need of some soul searching, some changes or in fact, before the

president, the vice-president, members of the cabinet are in danger? >> there was some positive news at the summit. officials announced the u.s. and colombia washed out their final differences over the new free trade agreement. it will go into effect a month from now and the summit held here was the security improvements from a country once in the clutches of drug lords. >> harris: wendell goler reporting live from colombia tonight, thank you very much. a fox weather alert, 24 hours ago, you were watching fox report the breaking news, the storms were just beginning, now, a new threat looming with tornado watches and warnings active, and at least three states. first we're getting a look at the destruction from this weekend, the pictures heart breaking, lives changed forever. this is woodward, oklahoma. and we now know five people died here, three of them children, dozens more hurt. you may remember, we showed you this area last night when

that oil tanker, refinery depot was on fire and we weren't sure what we were looking at and thought to be hit by a twister and now we've learned one of woodward's tornado sirens was knocked out completely when it was struck by lightning. still, an amazing blessing, there was not greater loss of life. and this was the bedroom and our bedroom and our closet and our son's room and that's all the back wall and it's all down here. >> harris: this video now shot by storm chasers as that storm system moved into kansas. and the national weather ser ris receiving reports of more than 100 suspected twisters by day break today. >> the wind has picked up and the rain got really heavy and the next thing you knew, the house was moving and you could feel it coming off and shaking violently and things were hitting and you could hear the stuff hitting the floor.

>> and after about 30 minutes we all went back out and everything is just completely gone. it's just a big empty space like it was never there. >> harris: and we were on the air live when the system dropped funnel clouds from the sky in the highly populated areas of wichita, kansas and early estimates putting the cost of damages there at more than 280 million dollars. we have fox team coverage tonight. maria molina in the extreme fox weather center, mike tobin in wichita. mike, some 400,000 people in wichita, all day long looked like a bulls eye on the the weather map. >> and it's really remarkable, harris, the county sheriff says the search and rescue is over. all of those 400,000 people are accounted for. so, what remains now is the rebuilding of lives and the massive cleanup across the midwest and the plains and you can find a scene like this, it would be impossible to tally how many trees were knocked down, how many power lines are

out. how much power needs to be restored to so many people. now, the force of the storm of course, fell south of here, you mentioned woodward, oklahoma, funnel clouds formed and reached down from the sky, a little town of 12,000 people took a direct hit. 83 homes destroyed, 13 businesses and that's where we saw the loss of life and the loss of life came from people who tried to ride out the storm in trailer homes, they didn't make it to shelter. of course, we have so much in the way of awe-inspiring video, that's because we had the warning, that's because we had so many storm chasers with so many tornados to choose from, all of them capturing the funnel clouds in the sky. what is remarkable with so many storms, so many tornados touching down that the loss of life was not greater. the local authorities here say that's because people respected the warnings, the strongly worded warnings that came from the the national weather service and took shelter. they got to shelters before the storms hit. so, here in kansas, we have a lot of property destruction, we have all the families that

started the day yesterday, still intact today. harris? >> well, you know, we learned a lot from last season. we saw some tough situations and joplin, missouri coming to mind here and we hope that people are heeding those warnings and learning lessons from the past. mike tobin, thank you so much. there are new tornado watches in parts of wisconsin, minnesota and meteorologist maria molina is tracking it. and you heard mike there saying that we got a lot of earning warnings on the system and it held together. >> yeah, it did hold together and basically, it was the second time in history that we did have a high risk alert issued out by the storm prediction center. at least 24 hours in advance, and there was something that was very probably very helpful to the saving of life and today, we still have more severe weather and we have a moderate risk across parts of wisconsin, minnesota and also portions of iowa because we're looking at elevated danger for more severe weather that could produce tornados and i do want to point out that the storm

prediction center had to do something that they called a discussion and basically when they analyze thunderstorms more local they feel and basically stated that the minneapolis, st. paul area over the next few hours could be looking at the possibility of tornados, so we do have very strong thunderstorms in that area that are rotating and one does have a tornado warning just to the the west of minneapolis, st. paul area or the downtown area, so of course, we hope that people are seeking shelter and we want to know where the storm system is today. a little further off to the east, yesterday, produced tornados across portions of nebraska and kansas, down through oklahoma and reports of tornados yesterday. today we're seeing severe weather and ten reports so far of tornados across the north central area of low pressure over portions of the dakotas, into portions of minnesota and we have showers and storms stretching all the way down through parts of eastern texas and a very large system. and one tornado watch in effect until 11 p.m. central time across the

minneapolis-st. paul and the area including northern portions of iowa and western parts of wisconsin and tracking the showers and storms and continue to rotate possibly producing tornados out there. two other watches to the south including the city of st. louis and little rock and both of these go into midnight local time tonight and we'll continue to keep an eye on this. and we had one across parts of arkansas and that is in effect and it's basically to the north of little rock and not looking at a major area impacted and a closer eye around the tornado watches and warnings continue to be issued today. >> and of course, you and i will be here throughout the night and monitoring it like we were last night and maria, thank you so much. >> missing at sea off the coast of san francisco, an urgent search for sailors who fell overboard, off a yacht. they rescued some of them and that's what you're seeing, but, still, the search on now for those who are missing aen dealing with illegal immigrants making their way into arizona, coming across

foot, it was, it was treacherous, there were waves coming from different directions so there was a cross pattern of waves. >> harris: a big wave washing part of the crew overboard, they tried to turn around to rescue their friends and the boat was sent to the rocks. and they have life vests and cold weather gear giving rescuers hope they can reach them. the workers who partied like rock stars in vegas are about to experience capitol hill. a congressional hearing set to begin tomorrow in washington over overspending at the general services administration and that's actually the agency whose purpose it is to expose government waste and we've been reporting gsa employees made a rap video mocking overseas of spending and that came out around the time of the report of the lavish spending at the agency, including a 2010 conference in vegas that lost more than $800,000. steve centanni live in

washington and what can we expect to see in the hearing tomorrow. >> well, at 1:30 congressman darrell issa committee is looking into mismanagement of the agency and it will be the head of the gsa region and organize what the agency itself calls an over the top event and says a hearing will be pointless since he plans to take the fifth, but issa want him there. >> we're looking at getting at the truth and how widespread this is. our question will be just not about the one event, but the culture at gsa and how we whaeng it and we believe that daley should be able to at least answer some of the questions and hoping he will. >> reporter: there are questions why the gsa didn't use a conference facility it already owns and the competitive bidding rules were followed at that conference. back to you. >> harris: steve, what about the rest of the week? i know as the hearings continue, what's the preview there. >> reporter: right, more

dead heat and leading president obama nationally in the margin of error though, peter doocy following all of this for you in washington. >> the romney team hammered home, 92.3 the percentage of women they say accounts for all job losses since president obama took office and more women lost jobs, and the fact there have been more men take office doesn't make it a good loss, and that's a bad thing and we need to reverse them. >> treasury secretary tim geithner did not contend that stat this morning, but says the republican argument is incorrect. a lot of the early job losses in 2008 affected men because they affected construction and manufacturing and as the crisis spread and state and local governments were forced to cut back on services fire a lot of teachers caused a lot of damage to women, too. >> there was talk of tax returns and the obama campaign wants to see more than two

stormed a prison in afghanistan and freed inmates including one on death row trying to assassinate afghan's president. and a taliban official saying more than 100 of his fighters returned to pakistan's northern tribal region home to one of the most feared terror groups. a concern that a so-called cease-fire is nothing, but a sham. and the strong hold again today, as international observers arrived in that country and the united nations sent them to syria and we reported this last night that they were coming and they're there to ensure the regime is holding to a promise of a cease-fire, if reports received from that country are any indication, that's not happening. both sides blaming the other for violence, outbreaks, and violating that agreement. and syrian government officials saying they welcome the observers because they have quote, nothing to hide.

as the president was wrapping up a news conference in colombia a short time ago he mentioned dls' a window closing on using diplomacy and threatens more sanctions on iran and the talks are coming up next month. iran, a 6th world power x expected to talk about the expanding nuclear program. >> a difference between this meeting and previous meetings, this time iran was willing to talk about its nuclear program according to the six world powers that sat across the table from iran. and iran had been willing to talk about a lot of things, just not its nuclear program. now admittedly, this time, no deals were cut and no agreement to curtail stop enriching uranium to talk about the program this time and in future meetings. >> and the time to address the

nuclear program, and that in itself is something that previously had been difficult to get firm commitment to, and that's the first thing. >> secondly, that the proposals we have, are the proposals coming in both directions for experts and from deputies. and it's designed to put a frame work, around how we go forward. >> iran this weekend talked a lot about this issue by the supreme leader which said would be unislamic or against the religion to build a nuclear bomb. i asked a senior u.s. administration official if anyone would take iran at its word on that and i was told that not necessarily. if iran does mean it then they should be willing to take concrete steps to prove to the rest of the world they're not after a nuclear bomb. such as letting inspectors into the site they've been seeking access to. it's not clear where it's going to go. if it's going to get think results nor what the step by

kabul. we have overhead healths strafing a building and where many expatriates live and the last of the militants are holed up in a building and afghan forces have been unable to eradicate and called in the the help of the coalition forces here, but the helicopters have been attacking that building for the at least 45 minutes now and appears that the militants are still very well-armed and in there for the long haul. it's been an extraordinary day, a surprise attack coming a week, after they said that the taliban was incapable of launching attack like this. it wasn't just here in the capital, it was three provinces in the country and we hear there have been low casualtieses, mostly injuries and apart from those who died in their attack. and yet, the scale of this attack really is almost unprecedented. we saw something like this back in september. when the u.s. embassy came

under attack and never so many diplomatic missions and the americans, yet again, targeted and the british embassy, the russians and the germans on top of that, but this is an attempt to undermine the evidence of afghan national security forces as they tried to grapple with the responsibility they now have of protecting their own country. and it was the international community also finds it, because they had given a resounding endorsement, takely in charge of protecting the capital. so, a lot of thought, dawn will rise and sun will rise here in less than half an hour's time and that will be food for thought on a brand new day of just really where the afghan national forces stond, especially the international forces in 2014. harris, back to you. >> harris: dominique dena tal yes, thank you very much. u.s. marines assigned to our border with mexico, our top story as we go across america.

>> today an insurgent warning credited with saving lives after a powerful storm system swept the midwest and now we're hearing several thunderstorms expected again as far east as michigan. the national weather service saying the kind of twisters we saw yesterday and the overnight hours are not likely to hit again tonight.

but there are several watches in effect so we're watching at that situation. more than 100 suspected tornados reported by day break across the midwest today. and five people killed in oklahoma including three children, and about two dozen other people hurt. those fatalities were in woodward, oklahoma a community that suffers the worst of the destruction from the system and most of the victims living in a mobile home park, kansas and nebraska and iowa also hit. and in nebraska, reports of baseball sized hail mixed with serious damage to homes and take a look at damage in the tiny town. thurmond. flattened. and piles of free lines, lining the streets. and rick reichmuth in thurman. >> this is what is left after the tornado cut through 5:30
