can't say one way or the other on that. it can be hard to diagnose a concussion. the player has to tell the coach something has happened. the majority of concussions don't involve a loss of consciousness. there can be an alteration of consciousness. if the player doesn't report that then of course the coach doesn't know, no one knows. >> can you give me one minute. i hate to do this, doctor. can you give me one minute to give us a track from concussion to suicide? >> a concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury. when there's a concussion it will be due to a force that occurs where the brain is shaken or it can be due to a rotation of the brain. it doesn't have to be an impact or a hit. very much like shaken baby syndrome. this causes damage to the brain and the front part of the brain is differentially vulnerable.
