>> for more on the life and legacy let's go to mary ann raf pert. >> stars like gloria estefan all taking to twitter this morning to express their grief and shock on her passing. summer was one of the founding stars of this kiss go a-- disco. she won five grammy awards in dance, rock, r&b and inspirational. she had a record 19 number one dance hits in her career including her break out smash "love to love you baby." ♪ oo >> her stardom rocketed after that. she performed live on american idol back in 2008.

♪ flu>> summer as last big conc came in late 2010. her passing coming as a true shock since she never publicly revealed she even had lung cancer. even now surprising she believes she may have contracted the disease after inhaling toxic particles following the attacks on 9-11. she eventually moved out of manhattan for the very reason. she is survived her husband and three adult children. the will hold a public memorial for her wednesday in nashville. >> thank you. >> now we begin with your 5@5:00. a deadly attack killing two nato service members. it happened in the eastern part of the country. no word yet on if they were americans. so far this year more than 150 nato service members have been

killed in the country. >> fox news confirming there are ongoing and heated debates in the white house over with whether to formally apologize to pakistan. it left 20 pakistani soldiers are dead. they hesitate to say sorry was it cou because it could make them look weak. they were being shot at by pakistani soldiers. >> police questioning a man of impersonating a police officer and he is behind the killing of two motorists. james lucas taken into custody after two drivers said he pulled them over in a blue mercury marquis this one outfitted with flashing lights. one of the drivers said he sped away when he saw lucas get out of the car with a gun. you will remember that two people were killed on a mississippi highway earlier this month.

>> the live rereverend jeremiah was supposed to be campaign ads from a political action committee. but likely gop nominee mitt romney put his foot down and said the race should focus on the issues. peter doocy is live with more. >> it is important to remember here by law super packs cannot have any official contact or coordination with campaigns. when mitt romney heard a super pack called ending the spending action fund was reportedly about to spend 10 million ads featuring reverend jeremiah wright he did something similar to what john mccain did in 2008. he said, stop it. >> i want to make it clear i repudiate that effort. it is the wrong course for a pack or a campaign. i hope that our campaigns can respectively be about the future

r ameritrade. these ads were part of a proposal that was presented to them. they weren't actually improved and their efforts going forward would be focused on fiscal policy. the death of trayvon martin has now gone public. >> going through all 200 pages here of documents the new evidence that has been released now choose the defense team of trayvon or george zimmerman in the trayvon martin case. there seems to be something on both sides they are picking up on here that seem to help both sides of the case. on the george jimmzimmerman def side they are picking up new shots, pictures of him injuries showing broken nose and cuts on the back of the head. he was the one very injured in this autopsy report. he did have a gun shot wound but

not a lot of other injuries to show that he was in a fight a couple scrapes on his fishings. there's also something picked up on by trayvon mart tans family. their attorneys saying a lead investigator with his report days after this he thought it was avoidable. he said zimmerman was at fault he wanted to charge him with manslaughter first. he said this could be avoided. zimmerman could have defused the situation. there are questions about who on the audio tape was screaming for help. there are new reports where the parents of trayvon martin. the mother says it was trayvon. the father asked by lead investigators who was on the call he said it was not his son. george zimmerman's father said it was george zimmerman. a lot to go through here. there is new evidence, new video as well showing trayvon martin leading up to the shooting and buying the skittles at the

grocery store. steve, thank you. >> thank you very much patty -- patti ann. now to stories you can bank on. beginning with facebook's big debut on wall street today. joining us with more on that lauren simonetti on the fox business network. it is breaking records with the ip offering. >> the big facebook public debut on the nasdaq. the company's price earlier than expected at the high end of the range $38 a share. you need to know that raises 18.4 billion for the company. as you can see here that makes it the second biggest ipo in u.s. history right behind visa and ahead of general motors. $104 billion market it is bigger than amazon, disney and bigger than cisco. you can buy shares today. maybe you want to or don't. but you are probably going to automatically end the shares

because in the month of september to december that's when we can expect facebook to be added to the s & p 100 or nasdaq 100. you own those in your mutual funds and 401 k's, et cetera. jp morgan that situation dimon is going to testify. >> this lawsuit is 3 billion plus. there will be a set of hearings with regulators that will end on june 6th. that's when jamie dimon will sit down and testify. >> the post office the latest with them. 250 post office closures. they will see 90 in the winter and then after. this is saving millions of dollars a year for the post office. but in the process we will see thousands and thousands of cuts. for people who live in these

>> a report finds a bird strike caused a crash of a plane. the pilots died in that september 19th crash. the report says a red hill hawk hit and damaged the top of the chopper. thousands of protestors ahead of the nato summit. some demonstrations already started. they are voicing opposition to government policies that they claim only benefit the healthy. we turn to john cuddy for the story. >> amidst family and friends under the protection of private security gathering at the 10 acre property. they learned robert kennedy

junior the nephew of john f. kennedy and son of bobby kennedy was at the residents and was the one who called police after a housekeeper found his wife's body. she noticed she was missing around 11:00 a.m. after finding her purse but no sign of her. worried the housekeeper called robert who lives nearby in bedford. he called a local aa group to find out if mary was there. a search followed. bedrooms and carriage house was checked before a housekeeper went into the barn. she set animal traps on top of one another and kicked them out from under them herself. she died from asphyxiation due to hanging. the news coverage surrounding her death she issued the following statement we loved mary and knew her to be an exceptional mother, sibling and friend to many. countless people described her as an extraordinary mother

worth. it is the most talked about market day of the years. at $38 a share is this a smart buy. vera givens. >> the first question for ordinary joe schomo investor should you buy? oo we haven't seen this kind of excitement since google in 2004. a lot of fren seep and hype. would be paying a premium well above the offering price of $38. concerns about swelling growth and inconsistent revenue patterns. everybody wants in. this is one of the largest ipo's of history and in general. people like it. >> i get it. >> so you say, though, that you should only get in on this if you have some money to play with. >> right. you wouldn't put all of your

eggs in one basket specifically and especially with a hot ipo like this one. they have a spotty track record. look at group upon, right? it shot up 11 percent on day one. now it is down 50 percent since the debut. this has to be play money, fun money not your retirement money or emergency fund money. that would be absolutely crazy. >> you also say that and it is only money that is not retierment. there are not that many people who are completely set for retirement and roll out the kid's college who have an emergency fund set aside and still have money left to play with. i would set a price limit. maybe get it at 50 or 60 whatever the case may be. ed play money. >> you want only limit orders not market order.

>> dpoo just get in there because you are a facebook user. 9 million are. >> wait for the dust to settle. today is going to be crazy. >> crazy. >> day one internet ipo's have risen historically. people are saying this one can go to 60 or $70 on day one. wait for the frenzy to subside for things to settle down a little bit. you may even consider waiting for the lockup period to expire. that is when they are ready to sell the share. more shares come to market the prices come to a dip and it could be a good market point. >> it is shorter than the usual 6 months. >> 6 months is the standard. they have shortened it. you don't have too long to wait. >> if you are a facebook fan you want to buy a share you can do that on one share.

he is in critical condition at this hour. we are learning more details about the family of the missing 6-year-old girl isabel celis. welfare workers visited the home. this comes a week after his father was banned from having any contact with his son. cops believe that isabel was abdu abducted. they have not determined if it was by stranger or someone the family knew. dramatic video of a boat in flames. they put water on the fire. it happened in new york. investigators are trying to figure out what caused the fire. the boat owner has burns to his ears and necks. >> a student hauled out of school for bringing half a tablet of ibuprofen. she was given the tablet by her mother. her mom didn't hear from the school about the arrest. she got a call from another

parent. >> i was frantic crying and trying to find my daughter where she was. after five or six-hours they said you need to report her missing. >> turns out she was taken to a hospital. the school is the policy is to tell the parents where the child ends up not whereabouts during custody. >> passengers were given an unexpected treat. take a look at this. that is the band lemon bucket orchestra. they took out the instruments and helped entertain the passengers during the delay. the flight was delayed about 20 minutes. look at how happy everybody on board is. those are your five headlines at 5:30. >> health and human services

secretary kathleen sebelius giving a commencement speech. >> this is going to raise eye rows creating a rift between a top tier school and hierarchy of the catholic church. the school is coming under fire for extending the invitation to her in the first place. she is the point person who is advocating mandated insurance coverage for contraception. something the catholic church opposes. georgetown president defended the invitation saying it is committed to the free exchange of ideas. that brought this reaction from the catholic archdiocese of washington. while the explanation of how this unfortunate decision is made is appreciated it does not address the real issue for concern. the selection of a featured speaker whose actions as a public official present the most direct challenge to religious

bad girl was playing. it brings back memories like you said. memories that played out for many people in the 70s before you and i were born. right here at studio 54. best sound track. so much a part of donna summer. it was dominating the club here. if you look back on it a lot of people didn't know she was sick because family from wire reports kept the illness quiet. we are hearing that it was possibly lung cancer that she passed away from. she was at her home in key west surrounded by her husband and children as well 63 years old. what an amazing career. she grew up in boston. that's where she was born. ladonna adrien gains in 1948. she grew up in the 60s. mid 70s found a connection with disco music in its beginnings and she latched on to it felt a connection and it was absolutely made in heaven. she had 19 hits on billboard

dance charts a record passed by madonna. that was one she held a long time ago. that song right there i love to love you baby that was the one that put her on the map. when she became a born again christian she wouldn't sing the song because of the suggestive lyrics and some of the other vocal ements associated with the song that made it such a phenomenon. it made her career and it started right here. she is definitely going to be missed. disco era ended in the 70s. she moved on seamlessly into the 80s with "she worked hard for the money" and other songs like that. she is survived her husband and three daughters. antoine keep on dancing out there. >> you saw that. >> 43 after the hour. let's span the globe and see what stories are making headlines overseas. >> we begin with wild video out of romania.

altercation. who does this new evidence help or hurt? joining us with legal analysis is criminal defense attorney and fox news contributor arthur aidalis. >> we coordinated. >> is it unusual for this evidence to come out at this point? >> no. i mean that's a process of law. each judge has a degree of flexibility after the evidence is disclosed. what's interesting is you ask the question who does it help? well here's my brilliant legal analysis. i am sure if you ask the prosecutor they are going to say it helps them because basically what it indicates is it was a bunch to the nose. in other words, if the injuries are a bunch to the nose two black eyes but it's not like there was a black eye from a bunch a black eye from a bunch, a broken nose from a bunch.

injury to the eyes you have you have a black eye when you have a broken nose. >> there's a cut on the back of his head. >> not that i am a forensic individual professional, but it seems like he got punched in the nose he fell back and hit his head. that's what common sense could dictate. if dr. baden was doing his analysis that's what he would say. on the flip side of the coin trayvon martin has a cut on his knuckles. that would say there was indicating some sort of aggressive injury. >> how do you determine how tho when those injuries happened. >> we try to do a little analysis. we are not in the courtroom looking the way the jurors look. they look at witnesses and

evidence. zimmerman already testified at a bail hearing. that is rare the defense attorney gets an opportunity to see how his client will hold up in court and others. i wouldn't be surprised if you see mr. zimmerman. >> second degree murder does it raise enough reasonable doubt to diminish that? >> this is a very stacked specific incident. the bottom line is the jurors are going to say you have a kid with iced tea and skittles. you have a guy with a gun. if a kid with iced tea punches someone in the nose is that enough to blow him away in the chest. that's for the jury to decide. >> appreciate it. thank you for coordinating. it is 47 after the top of the hour. ladies want to get ahead at work? try zipping your mouth. this story will have a lot of

wi-fi device she used to communicate with bosses back in moscow. verizon wireless is back ped pedalling after word they were getting rid of the plan. now the customers can keep their plans on one condition. diane mess saass said doe has t story. yesterday we reported verizon announced plans to gradually force all of the customers on to the new data share plan which is launching this summer. amid-back lash with customers with the unlimited data plan. they will be able to keep those plans but they have to pay full price for new phones. a spokeswoman from verizon told me yesterday the company has been reevaluating the data pricing structure for some time. she said the new plans will allow multiple phones and family members to share one account came about because customers requested that ability to share data similar to how you can share minutes. now, she also said the company quote will share specific details of the plans and any
