weather center. the central u.s. we are going to see the potential for stronger storms today including large hail damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. we have had hundreds of severe weather reports not only yesterday but the day before. still looking at that potential. this is what is left of beryl as it continues to move to the north and east. this isn't going to hurt anybody. it will be mainly of shifting concerns. we are done with beryl and hurricane season officially starts tomorrow. we have already had two named storms. there's the satellite over the last 6 hours. you can still see storms firing from texas on upwards toward the western great lakes. you can see where we have the subtle bowned dre draped across the central u.s. 64 kc, 88 in new orleans, 80 in new york. look at the southwest. 109 in phoenix. we could break some records today across the southwest. today and 108 to 114 degrees

in new york city. they want them sold in container that is are more than 16 ounces. besides restaurants the ban would effect movie theaters streetcars and stadiums. it would not effect vending machines or grocery stores. vie tlierts would face $200 fine. some people say the ban is easily mrouted. people could buy two smaller containers of sugary drinks instead of one large cone taner. others call it a good idea. >> i think soda is really unhealthy. i don't see any reason to keep the dri drivenlths>> a lot of people drink soda. they will be buying more. that is even worse. >> it does not come as a large surprise. the beverage association is not in favor of the plan. a spokesman told us banning the saled of large sugary drinks
