meeting with family members of those killed. general saying nato troops did not know there were civilians in that house. the general also saying the military would compensate the families for their losses. meanwhile in eastern afghanistan french officials say four of their soldiers died when a bomber detonated explosives near their patrol route. the taliban taking responsibility for that attack. syria new developments in kicking out the president. the rebels who want him gone reportedly getting more bold taking their fight straight to the center of the government the capital city damascus. here is amateur footage showing shattered car windows and bullet holes in homes and shelling by the government as they struggle to survive. in a down not far government forces launched a night of shootings and explosions. 17 people were killed in that city alone. we are told u.n. observers are out there assessing the damage

asking for a lot of money. the country becoming the 4th and large eggs nation in the euro zone to request a financial rescue since the debt crisis started in europe two years ago. sgrooes, ireland and portugal already needed the same kind of help. the move welcome by the united states treasury secretary tim geithner calling it an important step toward financial union. this bailout expected to be different than the other three. the money will go to the banking sector meaning there will be no new os tear austerity measures spanish people. spain's unemployment at 25 percent. people there already dealing with tough cuts. a few years ago the retirement age was increased from 65 to 67. sales taxes went up. apparently none of that was enough to halt the country's slide into a major recession. asked for how much money spain will ask for, it is still not clear what the final number will be.
