warren hatch also victorious. beating former state senator dan blooming kwis. it was the first time hatch faced a primary challenge. it was not a good night for republican congressman from oklahoma john sullivan. tea party candidate and navy pilot pulling off the upset. colorado, you can see entire neighborhoods literally burning to the ground as 6 different wildfires go through the state. looks like a military invasion. it is fueled by record high temperatures and 65 mile per hour winds. 3200 people are being forced out of their homes in the colorado springs area alone. also the air force academy north of colorado springs is shut down. a fire is burning less than five miles away. they are trying to decide what to do about a thousand new cadets scheduled to report

thank you. before you leave the house of course you want to know what's going on with your weather. >> maria is looking closely at florida. is it going to get any break from debbie any time soon? >> we are expecting things to dry out out there. debbie made land fall yesterday as a tropical storm with maximum sustained winds at 40 miles per hour. this system has picked up in speed. it is producing all of that blooding over florida because of how slowly it was moving. now we are looking at it moving 10 miles per hour over the east, northeast. it has weakened to a tropical depression. we can still get a little more rain over parts of central and southern florida with some of the outer rain bands. we are expecting it to exit out later today and by friday it will be well offshore. we are not expecting any additional impacts to the u.s. maybe along the beaches along the east coast. probably going to be heading to the beaches this weekend because
