reports of severe storms crossing from great lakes down to the parts of the southeast including the carolinas. we have ongoing storm systems right now. most of the severe weather is over. we are dealing with weather leftover across the southeast like south carolina north carolina and portions of the floor day panhandle. it will be a slow go because of the rainfall. you can see the heavy rain across southern portions of alabama and northwest of tallahassee. we are dealing with a large area of high pressure that's the system producing all of the hot conditions across the plains states and across the southeast. with the ridge of high pressure you 4r6 the moisture creeping in that will be firing up showers and thunderstorms. some of those storms could produce sever weather. some of the areas will be in the carolinas so you have another round of storms later today and

other parts of minnesota and also eastern portions of the dakotas. how bad will it be today? upper 09s for raleigh, atlanta. well above average temperatures this time of year. you factor in the humidity and it feels even photter. we will see triple dig get heat index values. as we head out the doors during the day it will feel like 105 degrees out there. another scorcher for you unfortunately. typically most of the areas would be in the upper 80{caseñ] low 90s this time of year. tuesday and wednesday still is going to be hot. some will be rebounding into the triple dig get numbers. tuesday 101, wednesday 102 in kansas. another scorcher, tomorrow's high temperatures a little mow of a widespread look.

four liberal justices on the court declaring the law is constitutional under federal taxing powers. jack lew telling fox news despite them calling the law on tax in reality he says it's a penalty fee with the individual man daylight that purchase health insurance. >> the only thing that puts a burden to pay more is penalty for those who can afford insurance and those who choose to buy it. that's 1 percent of the population. in massachusetts where this was tested in the plan governor romney put in place 1 percent of the population ended up paying the penalty. republicans view president obama's defining law of his presidency quite differently. they argue the law will put a huge burden on the doubled economy and debt. republican leaders found a return to congress after the july 4th holiday to start taking

the conditions across the country. good morning, tell us about this. good morning heather and ainsley. we are looking at showers and storms rolling through parts of the carolinas and parts of georgia, alabama and going through parts of the florida panhandle. we are not expecting to see the kind we saw yesterday. rainfall lightening and gusty winds here and there. nothing like last night where we saw 800 reports of parts of the great lakes and the southeast including the carolinas. those produce the kind of damage you saw in last report. we will continue to see the storms winding down today but as we head into the afternoon hours we will see more moisture more daytime heating and more possibility for severe weather across parts of the northern plains haring hail damaging winds but we dant rule out an isolated tornadoes if they
