has not worked in three and half years. the government is spending and we haven't had a spur in the economy and unemployment above eight percent. milton freedman. the whole philosophy is wrong. we cut taxes in '81 and again under clinton in 94. and both of those things helped the economy and we had a strong recovery and that is what should be done today. >> all right, tracey, the president's argument here is that he is going to extend the bush tax cuts . now the republicans are saying that businesses are going to get hurt and that is going to hurt the commempt >> that is small businesses and that is absolutely who is getting hurt. the cvo said that 20 percent of our so-wealthy americans

are covering our tax bill. how much of a buren do you want to put on these people. they are trying to make it better and all we are doing is taxing them. cut five percent across the board and then you want to talk to me about tax hikes, fine. cut the spend make it fair everywhere. you can't just pick and choose. >> mitch mcconnell said it is it a tax hike on small businesses and a horrible idea and the wrong direction. who is right. i worked on these issues and you have to do both. the notion of cutting spending, i hate to burst anyone's bubble. they don't know path. you have to have revenues coming in when you are talking about the tax rates. cvo did a study . tax rates are lowest as they have been. obama has cut taxs and cumake the argument that he cut taxes

too much. if we are serious about fiscal responsibility. you have to get it back in a balance. >> johnathon cutting spending. that is good for the fiscal health in the country. >> but the president doesn't think so. the president believes that wealth comes from government spending and control . that's why he advocates for greater government spending in every opportunity. half or 66 percent of the surveyed understand that cutes need to be made. they are harvard mba. but they understand the carn age and the builds cut down. those earned their money. where do they want to cut.

borrowing 40 cents out of every dollar. you look at spain and france and greece. when you cut that much out of the budget it hurts the economy. >> there is another important point to keep in mind. if we want to be brutally honest about this. there is a failure amongst the american people not only to hold politicians accountable but be honest on the problems. it makes me want to tear my hair out. if we want to solve them we have to do both. you can't do it just through spending cuts. i can tell you, it is impossible. >> you are saying the failure on american people. they have cut their american people. >> that's not what i am saying, we have to be honest about the problems we face.
