i'll put it that way. not that we look good, but as good as we can get. joining us from the panel, and a question i didn't get around to before, there was a recent poll that showed that mitt romney had 0% of african-american vote. and give him some advice, how do republicans connect to the african-american community? >> well, first advice, recognize that obviously, president obama is going to get the african-american vote this year, an intense amount of proud in the community toward barack obama. the question going forward. mitt romney is going to be the next president, it's not important whether he gets african-american votes, but governs in a way that's inclusive and earnings the vote by 2016. the way to get those votes, focus on the economy, reforming education and running an inclusive administration. he won't get the votes this time, but the potential in 16 to get 15 to 20%.

>> that's an incredible observation, republicans understand that it's the long game not the short game. you're an attorney general and elected officials and you've had to campaign for votes that are traditionally democratic and yet you win in florida, how do you do it. >> florida is traditionally a red state and we are going to be a red state this november once again and governor i've been travelling the state with mitt romney together and i've been his surrogate in new hampshire and women are coming out in droves. and i'm co-chair for the nation and he realizes that the women's vote is just as important and women care about the same thing, the economy, school of choice, jobs, the poverty level among women and i think that governor romney has been doing an incredible job and so much enthusiasm among women for governor romney. >> mike: don't you think that ann's speech is going to be one of the highlights of the week. and i think that people will

love her when they see what a warm, charming and devoted just wife, mother and human being she is. >> i love ann romney, she's brilliant, raised five boys and i mean, i think she could give a political speech better than any elected officials i know. and i can't wait to hear her, she's such a great person. >> mike: david brody, your realm is the teavangelicals and you brought it up and highlighted it, if you were giving mitt romney some advice to pencil in on the corners of his speech, what would you suggest he needs to include? >> i've got to tell you, governor, i would suggest that he maybe really not run away from his mormon faith. you know, it doesn't mean that it needs to be a systemic theology test at all. having said that, he has a wonderful humanitarian record, and his clutch and the support he gave to individual families, and there's a compelling story and multiple stories and he does shy away

from it maybe the next news week cover or time magazine cover might show. but if you dig down, that's the story overall and i think that mitt romney wants to tell voters across this country. >> mike: all of you have brought a great perspective and besides mitt romney, paul ryan, ann romney speeches, it will me quickly five seconds, what is the highlight of the convention. mike huckabee and chris christie. >> mike huckabee what i'll say. >> what am i supposed to say. >> mike huckabee you're supposed to say. >> mike huckabee and definitely chris christie. >> mike: there you go, i paid them handsomely for that. steak dinner after the show tonight. we're so glad you've joined us, and we're live from tampa tonight, but all of this week fox news is going to be covering from stem to stern, the entire republican national convention, if you miss any of it, it's your own fault. why would you miss it?

we're delighted you'll be joining us. i want to say my heart felt thanks to david brody, pam brodi, and arthur davis, all had a great story to tell. the big story is yet to come, that we'll hear on the republican national convention stage every night this week, i believe that america will hear a real solid and clear reason that there is a tremendous deference between the way that barack obama has governed and the way that mitt romney will govern. this is not a time just to choose up about parties, democrat versus republican, but rather, to determine exactly what kind of america we really are going to have in the coming days and years. i'm looking very forward to that moment. well-- >> oh. >> hey! oh, it was my birthday this week.
