behind 9/11. we expect to get more developments on the late breaking story throughout the hour. i want to put it into context for you. i have been saying for a week, two navy seals, an bam ambassador and others are dead and the government can't get on the same page about what happened. they are claiming it was not organized, not calculated, even claiming they had no evidence it was connected to the anniversary of 9/11. and they said an offensive movie trailer from youtube, that was to blame. let's look back at the spin m- in the last week. >> what sparked the recent violence was the airing on the internet of a very hate full, very offensive video that has offended many people around the world. >> it is in response not to united states policy, not to obviously the administration, not to the american people, it

demonstration. i thought john mccain answered that pretty well, that people don't bring rocket-propelled grenades and heavy weapons to a spontaneous demonstration. this was clearly planned, it was clearly planned in advance. it was, and they hate to say these words, this administration, this was an islamic extremist terrorist attack. just like they said before when major hasan yelled out a phrase while slaughtering people. >> and you have that case. there are pictures available of the ambassador. his body is dragged through the streets. very reminiscent of mogadishu he was sodomized, brutally, viciously murdered and it seems

early. mitt romney saw the images of our flag being burned and al-qaeda flag be being hung up and death to america. i think every american should speak out when they see those images. what do you think of that attack and he with fast forward and we have a few narrative. it's about a tape that we now discovered, oops, there's not -- we don't have the whole tape. we were told it was the whole tape and now we find out that's not true either. i wonder what words were taken out that they maybe conveniently lost? >> i mean, here's the end result, sean, right? a week later it turns out gov. romney was right. we shouldn't have apologized. in fact we apologized for 16 hours and then the administration did exactly what mitt romney said. they withdrew the apology. so mitt romney turned out to be right about that. we should not have apologized. instead we should have used it, as the president likes to say, as a teaching moment. we should have taught the world

what our first amendment means. in fact it's very dangerous to apologize for it. that means we are subjected to americans being killed, americans being harassed no matter what stupid, crazy thing somebody in america says. the reality is we have free speech in this country. you didn't say it, the government didn't say it. what the government should have said the government has no responsibility for this. i think mitt romney made the right point. it also turns out the administration is completely wrong about what happened. this was not a spontaneous demonstration. in fact, it's embarrassing that they still have that narrative out there. and i think the amoebasdor of the united states should apologize for that very, very ignorant remark. >> now should the third highest, a promotion now for a lawyer who came to prominence defending a convicted terrorist. he's now number three at the justice department. does that concern you? >> i can't tell you exactly why there's sort of this euphemistic

strategists who we should remind people of four years ago were all on the obama bandwagon and now pretend to give advice to romney. we know what their best interest is. their best interest at heart is their own self propgation. so don't listen to -- i'm sorry, i mean, they had their times but the peggy nunans and david brooks. brooks is drooling over obama's crease in his pants and talking about all the ivy league smarty pants who are going to change the world. we remember and we are holding them accountable and we discount their opinions now about what romney should do. you look at all the front pages of these so-called conservative web seats and mooning and groaning how romney has lost, it but out here in the heartland, outside of that bubble, people aren't paying attention to what

david korn is saying and to the extent the video about romney and the so-called botch and the gaffe he made is getting out there. i think people now, having seen the fuller context of it, know exactly what romney was talking about when he was talking about the makers versus the takers. >> let me push this a little further here. and missing minutes, i would like to know the missing minutes. why do i suspect, deep in my heart, there's more to that story? whether we will ever get to the truth of it before the election is irrelevant. but i want to see romney on offense. i want to see him talking about the people who are in poverty and explaining to him, this is where i think this is an opportunity, explain out conservatism will help everybody in this country. that seems like an opening to me. >> well, he did. he did. if you watch the full video. >> the full video doesn't exist. >> and i'm putting it in quotation marks.

but people need to talk about what he actually said. because in my column today, i talk about what he was talking about before he made the 47% remark. it got the biggest applause from that crowd and it will get the biggest applause from the people who will get the message. erelated the story he defends himself on the campaign trail. it is not getting pulled. and the most popular anecdote he heard is one he heard from marco rubio. marco rubio's parents told him when he was growing up, and they were very poor, that they were never taught to grievance amonger about people when had more than them. they never told their children that they deserved a piece of anybody else's pie. they said if you work hard enough, you put your head down, you can achieve that too and that was the message he heard from the republican national convention that was whitewashed by all the media lap dogs dogs d stenographer. it is the duty of people who work in media and people who want a new inhabitant of the
