washington. they blame the president and down-playing the cuts as you heard. house speaker john boehner says spending is out of control. the president kicked the can they are running down the road they kicked the canon. no agreement was reach to do head off the sequester cuts. he says there was no lack offer fort on his part. >> no one has tried harder to come to an agreement with the president. the fact is the president and senate democrats have done nothing to pass a plan to avert this and deal with the spending problem the country has. >> president obama is urging republicans to work with him on a compromise. the crisis appeared to have hurt him. it showed congress and the president are being blamed. it shows the approval rating slipping from 41 percent to 51 percent. a top white house advisor predicted once they see the

>> most of a florida moem where a man was swallowed up by a sink hole is gone. the work beginning after officials called off the search for 37-year-old jeff bush yesterday. he's now presumed dead after the earth underneath his bedroom opened up and took him with it thursday night. we have been on the story from the beginning. now before today's demolition man officials salvaged as many keepsakes as they possibly could for the family who once lived there. cheers were heard in the crowd each time something valuable was saved, valuable meaning sentimental to them. photographs, a flag. a family bible. as we have told you, bush lived in the home with his brother jeremy and jeremy's girlfriend. the home had been in the girlfriend's family for years. today we heard from one of her relatives a woman who grew up in a house but moved when she was 20. >> it is just four walls. we have a lot of stuff that we

cherished in this house almost 39 years close to 40 years. we have that now, and we have each other. and that is all that matters. >> now there are some new concerns about the houses that actually sit on either side and nearby where that ground opened up. >> workers spent 2 and a half hours delicately demolishing this house. they used a 80 foot crane to do it. workers weren't sure if the ground in the home would crumble all together. >> just before the house came down jeffery bush's family said a tearful good-bye. his body buryd in a huge sink hole underneath. it is his final resting place. >> heartbroken. don't even know what to think sometimes. >> as demolition began crews were careful to salvage the

>> i'm harris falkner, this is the fox report. it's the bottom of the hour, time for the top of the news. former republican presidential nominee mitt romney speaking out for the first time since the presidential election. the governor and his wife ann sitting down with chris wallace for an exclusive interview on fox news sunday. governor romney vowing to remain a force in politics going forward. one thing chris asked him about, the illegal immigration released and the government said they can't afford to hold on to those people and here is the governor's response. >> i think the president has to act in the interest of the

country and that means if we need an aircraft carrier in the gulf, and i believe we do, i thought we needed one more, that he should do it. i think if there are people who are incarcerated, he should make sure that we're able to keep them in jail. using the sequester as an excuse is in my opinion the wrong way to go. look it, again, it's politics, it's how do we do something to get a headline to make it look like the terrible republicans aren't willing to come together. >> harris: and there is more of chris wallace's interview with the romneys beginning tomorrow only on fox news channel. so, governor romney joining a course of republicans pushing back on the claims that spending cuts forced immigrants to go free. and reportedly releasing 2000 illegal immigrants from immigration and customs enforcement custody, or ice. now, internal documents reportedly showed that number could have been higher.

dominic di-natale is in los angeles with details on that. as many as 5,000 of these illegal immigrants may eventually be released. how is that possible after the administration said only a hundred either the white house didn't know or suddenly seems to be pushing the blame on the department of homeland security. you're right they said originally a few hundred, not 2000 of those illegal immigrants who have already been released have been celebrating their release and here is what one of them said earlier. >> of course i had fear, i want to comply with all of the laws, i want to live here well, and go to my court and hope that we have an immigration reform so i can stay here safely. >> reporter: a massive barrel of criticism as a result of not knowing or perhaps the problems and concerns just who

the people are that have been released and even though the government says they're very low risk, harris. >> harris: we may or may not find out what they knew and when they knew it, but plainly the white house is putting responsibility on the department of homeland security. so what's the response to the leak? >> well, the homeland security says it doesn't anticipate any more additional releases, but all the same, it issued this statement on saturday saying this is what may or may not happen. they're saying that it could change based on sequester, we do not yet know what the cut rate will be. priorities to detention remains serious criminal offenders and other individuals who pose a significant threat to public safety. now, some of those that have been released will have tags and have to report in quite frequently, but the republicans have been saying, look, they're still a threat or a flight risk to public security. you shouldn't have these illegal poeople running around

are going hungry. well, after a shaky start to the mission, the spacex dragon capsule successfully docked with the international space station. the privately owned dragon delivered its one ton load earlier today bringing equipment, clothing and even fresh fruit, apples, from one of the spacex employee's orchard for the six astronauts on board. and the dragon will remain most of march before returning to earth with scientific samples, food containers. and they plan to investigate what caused the dragon's thrusters to fail shortly after launch. they worked for hours to work that problem and salvage the mission. how can a disaster go from bad to worth, how about when a dump truck runs into a home, catches on fire with the home owner trapped inside. and an elderly woman collapses

>> this story from california now. an 87-year-old woman passed away after collapsing in the dining room of an independent living facility where she was living. a nurse who was there when it happened called 911, but it's what happened next. pretty hard to believe. >> we need to get cpr started that's not enough. >> yeah, we can't do cpr. >> hand the phone to a passerby, anybody there can do cpr. give them the phone, please, i understand if your facility is not willing to do that, give the phone to that passerby, that stranger, i need-- this woman is not breathing enough she's going to die if he we don't get that that

started. you're going to let this lady die. >> well, that's why we are calling 911. >> we can't wait. >> you can talk to my boss. >> okay, they're >> that would mean you'd have to walk away from the phone. we're not sure if that happened. what we do know is that several minutes after that phone call, an ambulance arrived and took the woman to the hospital. and you heard the dispatcher say, it would be too late and it was. the facility, glennwood gardens releasing a statement claiming it's against policy to perform cpr on anyone inside the independent living facility. that area, by the way, is adjacent to, but not separate from glennwood skilled nursing and assisted living. more to come on this when we get it, i'm sure.

a mom about to deliver her baby in the car with her husband rushing to the hospital when the car hits them. and police are looking for the driver who took off from the scene. our top story on fox's trip across america. >> new york, those brand new parents were in the back of a cab when a black bmw came out of nowhere and hit them. the couple died. the cabdriver hurt, but recovering and doctors were able to save their little baby boy, born prematurely after the crash. louisiana, a dump truck somehow rams into a house west of new orleans, sparking a massive fire, a passing cyclist saw the flame and sprang into action saving the woman trapped in the home. >> and knocked out the glass and she came out and we got her out. couldn't get the dog. >> but that home owner and the truck driver were not hurt.
