that family that you just saw who introduced our show says they are extremely bored about how much healthcare it will cost them. mary, how bad is it going to get for the folks out there? >> it's going to be a problem. i remind everyone that in 2008 the president said he was planning to bring down premiums for an average family by $2500 a year. now, we're talking about sticker shock and how much the premiums are going up. they said the cost are going up, cbo agrees. kaiser, frequent government studies have shown the same thing. the reason is the plan was to give more services to more people and mandate more services in each healthcare plan. you can't have a simple healthcare plan that is catastrophic anymore. so when you do that, things cost more money i could have told you that many years ago. >> eric: we talked about that three years ago. jonathan, five guys say a franchise owner says i can't afford the increase in

healthcare costs. guess who is going to bite, you the consumer. we should have expected that? >> burger prices going up and healthcare quality going down. it's going to cost employers more which means it's going to cost consumers more. $25 billion estimated for major employers. their costs are going up in the next three years, boeing is talking about $25 million, five guys, we've seen layoffs among medical device manufacturers. to mary's point, what brings costs down is a free market. it's freedom, free minds. you see them everywhere from cellphone manufacturers and education which government has been heavily involved with. obamacare is force acknowledged and will kill free market and raise prices for everybody. >> eric: you can mess around with my burgers and hot dogs all

you want but don't mess with my dog, my real dog, freedom. >> your dog is named freedom. >> eric: and medical device 2.3% tax? >> we're not paying for healthcare right now above what you are paying for your premiums. the average family cost them $2200 a year, to cover people that are uninsured. you are going to pay a couple more cents for the burger or pay thousands of a dollar in order to insure people that are not insured today. every time the insurance gets it paid for. >> eric: this goes across the whole economy. no matter what you buy, your prices are going up? >> we had bobby flay on the business network. he is worried about the costs. human chef. how he is going to do it suck it up or pass it on the consumer. everybody is worried about this.

this wasn't talked about in the beginning. nobody said in the beginning, now what, this small businesses will have to go out of business. all we heard was the good stuff we're going to take care of the people that never had it. at the end of the day it's costing us more. >> eric: the original healthcare law was 7,000 pages long. mitch mcconnell put out it's up to 20,000 pages. what else do we know that is going to be in there soon? >> there is a lot we don't know, eric. you are absolutely right. its bureaucrat's dream to enforce all this stuff. to the point made earlier, when you said that we are paying for it anyway, it's not really true. there are people that are unable to prove their citizenship and they are going to get free healthcare who are citizens that don't have to prove it and forced to pay for it. it's not true that that is going to happen that way.

it's not a wash. we're paying 2.3% already on medical devices. there are some companies that are being very smart about this by breaking it out on your ticket so you see with their sales tax, you will see your 2.3% medical device tax. you see it there. that is the best way to publicize all of this is to get it out in the open. get rid of all of that so the public can see what they are paying. >> eric: you pointed out the promises of lower premiums and premiums went up. what about president obama's promise it won't add a single dime to the debt or deficit? >> they are out of the window, various parts of the plan, this is class act and 1099 thing became overly burdensome. critics of the bill said that at the time. they are not being paid for and cost continues to go up. i would also say kaiser did a study that premiums went up faster after the bill was passed more than years past.

they found the medical costs would cost $500 billion more if there not had been a bill. only thing we're paying for we're not paying for and it's going up faster. >> eric: we are approaching a trillion dollar price tag and it hasn't gone into effect fully. >> the goal was never to bring healthcare costs down but to socialize healthcare. a national healthcare plan. it was to end freedom of choice in healthcare. that is exactly what we're seeing. there is no mystery about what brings prices down, free people, free markets. this is opposite. this is the president essentially going to your house with a gun and forcing to you participate in this plan. >> i think the problem is. eric, they don't think anything through. no one thought about the fact, hey, when we suggested you reported on your w-2 what it is going to do for small businesses.

if anybody did their tax returns it is there. this is an added pain in the neck. there are so many little things that are not accurate what was said. >> look first and foremost, premiums are going up because the healthcare goes into effect next year, they won't be able to hike premiums so they are trying to get it under the wire. >> eric: and no one saw that coming? we have been talking about it at fox news for the last four years. >> did you want to initiate the healthcare reform or immediately upon passage? if it were passed, great everything is different. you need a few years to phase it in. secondly, based by the fact that the previous point that we're not paying for this with the illegal immigrants, hospitals can't turn you away if you show up having an heart attack. so we're paying for it regardless. you want to change it. people dying in the streets now?
