>> heather and ainsley good morning to you as well. congressional lawmakers are continuing to focus on the shenanigans of what's going on in washington as it pertains to internal revenue service. free congressional hearings have been conducted so far. there are now reports four more could be forthcoming. there could be more after that as well. news broke out about the irs targeting conservative groups with more scrutiny. demonstrators have been taking to the streets like boston and chicago and here in the nation's capital and other cities across the nation. during the demonstrations people have been raising their voices of protests of the internal revenue service action. while those actions are taking place on the streets members of congress are also voicing their concerns. republican congressman pete king for example says if there is an ongoing scandal within the irs the president needs to put a stop to it. ahead of more investigations which king blaefs would be more

at what's going on today in the forecast. is it getting any better? >> unfortunately it is not across the state of iowa. take a look at the forecast coming up over the next several days today, wednesday and also on thursday. you are looking at areas of heavy rainshowers and storms rolling through and several more inches as possibly more than 5 inches can fall across this area. we have flash flood warnings in effect out here even flash flood watches through out the entire state. this is basically showing you how much rain has fallen approximately across the entire state of iowa parts of missouri and across portions of nebraska. red shating -- -- purple shading over 8 inches of rain. some of you picking up over a foot. significant accumulations over iowa and the midwest. that we have the flooding phonings the ground is already saturated. after the severe weather we had 100 reports of severe storms across the plains states. 146 them were tornadoes.

still seeing un rates. since the concordia went down off the coast of italy we have been seeing amazing deals because people are still hesitant to go on board those ships. after the carnival triumph, people are worried. this ship luckily didn't lose power or any of its major systems but people are afraid. if you've never cruised before, this might sway you from never cruising. or if you may have been on the fence, you may not. if you're still in the time period of a cruise booking and you decide you may not want to go, you may decide to cancel. people who won't be able to cancel may be the ones who are really nervous and they are the one who probably paid their full payment, which is usually 70 to 90 days out and they will have to go on board. people who are leaving in the coming days to go on board the grandeur of the seas will be moved because they won't be able to sail on board that ship with other -- >> i wouldn't want to.

>> that is the thing. they are going to be offered the chance to cancel or to move ships. they ultimately will have to decide what they want to do. >> all those people deciding not to chance it and take a cruise right now, if you decide to fly for your summer vacation, how can you get the best deal on a flight? >> the sweet spot in looking for sales is between 35 and 40 days out. i recommend you go to websites to look for sale alerts. people don't realize there are a couple of really good sites. they tell you about the sales and tell you where to book. kayak.com does this and so does airfarewatchdog.com. the key is be flexible. look the day prior or the day after the peak day you want to go. also time of day because people don't think if you actually look at a few hours out you may find a better deal. >> tuesday mornings specifically for some reason? >> tuesday morning is a

good day to look. you can look any time, but tuesday morning there seems to be almost like an air fare war. the smaller carriers put out the sale rates. so the big dogs, the big airlines try and match it. often there are some very good bargains and the time to look, tuesdays when they put them into their system at midnight. the wee hours. >> get up early, watch "fox & friends" and then surf for a good deal. hotel tips? >> the biggest one is to look at the big sites to find out which hotel they're interested in and what particular area. trip advisor is a good site to go to, hotel.com. but then go to the hotel directly. this is for a couple of reasons. they have the most up-to-the-minute available. if you're not seeing availability on big ones, you may by calling get space. they have up to the minute specials. not the 1-800 numbers. the actual hotel itself. if you're celebrating something, tell the hotel
