would be safe. as basements filled with water from flash flooding. >> saul salso the irs thinks tha good use of your tax dollars. >> to the right. >> to the left. >> a dance party video. the tax agency says it is meant for employee training. tonight who is demanding answers in the wake of the irs scandal. >> plus senator rand paul weighed in on the future of the gop. >> when the republican party looked like the rest of america we'll win again. >> in minutes his visit to this symbolic location for the speech. >> we begin in the midwest and the plains where they are picking up the pieces where a series of violent storms ripped through eight states. tornados, delivering hail, wind and rain.

if that were not enough that rain in the form of flash floods. take the the bankrupt runt of i capitol of oklahoma. during the friday evening commute the roads packed people trying to get out of harm's way before the storms hit. the tragedy of moore still fresh in their minds. this weaker man what came to moore, but not by much. nine inches of rain fell ain an hour. flooding so severe the water stopped traffic on the crowded roadways. at least nine people died including a mom and her baby. it happened along interstate 40 authorities believe all of the deaths connected to the storm happened on the roadways. at least 100 people were hurt. the damage is extensive, you can

see the pictures. hail shattering rooftops at one point the size of baseballs can you imagine? water damaging the infra structure the emotional toll of it very high. >> words cannot express what all of us are feeling right now for those families and who would have thought that we would be standing here yet again today talking about this. >> we have live fox team coverage janice dean standing by. let's go to will carr in oklahoma. will? >> reporter: people are telling us that they are thankful to be alive. you can see the windshields are smashed. we have seen car after car lining the roads that look like that. the trees, the wind gusts so strong they snapped the big trees in half. then there are the buildings, this is the school for

technology. the storm gutted this school. 15 people were inside this school when the storm hit. we spoke to one of them here is what he said. >> the glass along the cafeteria imploded in. everything lasted 30 seconds to a minute. >> you told me you have lived in oklahoma city for a while and this is actually the first tornado you have seen yourself. >> yes, it is. >> what do you take away the day afterwards? >> i'm getting a cellar in my house and i thank the lord that i'm still here. >> now that gentlemen was studying to be a gunsmith and his wife asked him not to come to class last night and he did come. he and the other 14 people were all right. his truck in the parking lot not so much it was completely destroyed. >> will, i know people watching this will say, oklahoma city

that is tremendously populated. this seemed to hit areas that there weren't that many people. >> that is right. this is the silver lining here. people tell us it could have been much worse if it hit a more populated area. there are some homes that are completely leveled by the storms. we spoke to some homeowners and they told us to ask the nations for their thoughts and prayers. >> the national weather service conpafirming that at least one tornado barrelled through illinois. we are told it was an ef3. tens of thousands of people there still without electricity. also one tornado hit missouri. meteorologists were tracking the storm and had to run for cover themse themselves.

national weather service noticed the tight rotation close to their office. that is when a group of them took shelter in a copy room with reinforce ed walls and hunkered down there after calling their colleagues and asking them to track the storm while they road it out in the dark. nobody hurt. while people there, flooding is now a threat. the flip side of the story is numbering. janice. >> oklahoma city had their wettest may on record. 4 to 6 inches you can see the video coming out of okay ha city where they received 4 to 6 inches in a matter of hours. some receiving over a foot. the standing water can be deadly. people are urged to stay off the roads. they had a sinkhole the ground

gave way. starting to talk that report as well the e f-3 we are seeing that damage in el reno winds up to 165 miles per hour. and missouri we saw video from that area. we are getting these preliminary reports and we will bring you the latest. showing you that enhanced scale 165 miles per hour. ef-5 which is what we saw in moore over 200 mile per hour winds. and that damage is catastrophic. things would be incredibly worse this evening. so not as bad as it could have been. severe thunderstorm watch in effect for parts of southwest texas. not only in texas but across the area where we are seeing this frontal boundary move through.

after those poisonous letters were sent to prominent political figures federal agents now focusing on two locations texas and washington state. molly line is next to me now let's begin in washington. five different letters from there. >> and four out of those five

letters were confirmed to contain the active ricin toxin. they were mailed to the local post office and the air force base and the central intelligence agency. each was hand addressed in red ink but the letter to the cia has yet to be found. authorities are searching for it. officials are warning the public that if found the envelope should not be opened. this man, matthew ryan bu ket had been arrested. he has been charged form mailin threatening communications and is a registered sex offenders. >> that is frightening. one of these letters has not

been found so it is still out there. this is a separate case. federal law enforcement officials has confirmed that a new boston man has been questioned in connection with louisiana mailing center. they were sent to new york mayor and a gun advocacy group. the three letters tested positive for the presence of ricin but at low concentrations. the man has not been charged but officials say they were acting on a tip from the man's wife. the man says that this is a set up and that his wife is trying to frame him. these two investigations follow the arrest of a mississippi man through has charged with sending letters to a tsenator and a

"the fox report with the ". severe weather stretching to parts of the nation that is already hurting from fierce storms. the worst of it the oklahoma city area. nine people dead now including a woman and baby who were sucked from their car. officials believe all of the fatalities happened on roads. the twister barrelled on interstate 40 for nearly two miles. it happened during the evening rush hour. the highway was packed with commuters hoping to escape the storm no doubt hoping to escape what happened in moore. the storm moved right in. we'll go to missouri. this is st. louis. we know the tornado that hit there last night was an ef-3 packing winds up to 150 miles

murder charges. police officially now have charged a 28-year-old suspect seen here the day of the crime on that video that went viral. he has been released from the hospital. he and another man are accused of hacking lee rig by on a city street. the suspect is expected in court on monday. in turkey, protesters flooded istanbul. violent demonstration for a second day now it follows a heavy police crack down on what we are told was a sit in. four people losing their eyesight and clinging to life. conner powell. >> reporter: the protests have

entered their second day with anger growing with the government. they began as a small protest yesterday. as environmentalists gathered to block the construction of a historic park where the government wants to build a shopping mall. in an effort to break up the crowd police began firing tear gas in jurying dozens. tour key has the potential for civil unrest as many fear the growing -- headed by the prime minister. in the past few years authorities have arrested journalists and locked up political opponents. turkey is a strong ally of the united states particularly with regard to the civil war. it appears to be taking a heavy

fire spread to the hotel next door. when a portion of that building collapsed trapping them. veterans matthew renaud and garner and sullivan. not pictured is 12 year veteran robert bebee. they say the four took and aggressive move fighting the fire because they believed that people were inside the hotel. wildfire alert now. it is called the powerhouse fire. it is burning so close to a powerhouse. it is chewing through brush and anything that will light up. when i was covering the story

yesterday. it was at 1400 acres now more than 600 acres have burned. the number of firefighters has nearly doubled in a day to now some 900 of them and the kp conditions are treacherous. hot, triple digit temperatures today. windy. so far they have gotten 15% of it contained. possibly a break coming cooler temperatures in the forecast by monday. in new mexico fast moving wildfires closing in on a state highway. 25 miles east of sante fe. damaging one home and causing evacuations though at this hour. both of the new mexico fires are burning uncontrolled. small plane crashes killing a passenger.

were the students last seen with her involved? they were among the last people to see her alive. they have maintained their innocence. rothman claimed he remembers little of what happened that night. according to witnesses lauren and rothman walked from a bar from her apartment and minutes later the two left after being punched by another student. it is not clear how drunk she may have been. according to police. she ended up in the apartment that they shared. beth told police he tried to get her to sleep on the couch but she refused. at 4:30 amro senbaum says he watched her barefoot and without her cell phone walk home alone.
