acres. 5,000 people are under evacuation this morning. as many as 60 homes have been destroyed and over 100 firefighters battling the blaze heard explosions of propane tanks. they tried to grab what we could before getting out of town. >> they had the road blocked off. finally they persuaded me to get in and get our dogs and a couple of vehicles. just pray everything turns out alrea all right for people. >> nearby royal gorge another fire burning down at least 3 buildings. the territorial prison was being evacuated as a precaution. over 900 prisoners were being move to do a decommissioned facility in the state. there was no reports of injuries in any of the fires. >> anna kooiman live for us.

thank you anna. let's go to maria molina life. >> good morning patti ann. good morning everyone. we are looking at strong winds along with low humidity levels and also the hot temperatures. so there is going to be yet again an elevated fire danger in place. a number of red flag warnings are in effect across nevada, arizona and colorado. dangerous conditions continuing through out the day and into into the nighttime hours. not good news for ferrets trying to put out the wildfires. as we head eastbound we have a storm system producing the opposite situation. we are talking about potential for flash flooding and severe weather in the form of damaging winds large hail and tornadoes. there is today issued by the storm prediction center a modern risk out in chicago and indianapolis. you have a pretty elevated risk to see severe weather.

we have a number of red flag warnings in effect widespread across nevada, northern parts of arizona and into sections of colorado. looking at strong kinds that could continue the fires. farce somehow hot widespread triple digits the high temperature in phoenix. some of the heat is spreading further eastward parts of the planes and southeast climbing into the 90s today upper 90s for some of you or triple digits across central plains in places like oklahoma or the texas panhandle. we have a storm system i want to mention it will be impacting parts of the midwest and also into the northeast and mid l atlantic. we will see longer track tornadoes and strong wind gusts. as we head into tomorrow the risk eastward affecting parts of the mid atlantic and the southeast. >> maria molina in the weather center thanks.

the crows comes amid an aggressive campaign from the obama administration to increase those roles. spending on food stamp marketing has increased 6 fold since 2000 they provide bonuses totalling 50 million per year to states that meet high enrollment targets. the cost of the program has also sky rocketed since doubling since 2008. the trend is expected to continue that is compared to the $149 billion expected to go to job training for veterans. this could change they cut the farm bill by 400 million a year and the house is expected to take up this farm bill.
