10,000 hours overall. the last day and a half in crash happened they will tell you the san francisco runway is not the easiest one to land on. it is considered to be a more difficult runway to land on because you come in over water and come over that jet at this where the plane hit on saturday morning. then you would theoretically land on the runway. that runway is still shut down as the ntsb investigation continues. we spoke with ntsb investigators they told us it would be a little longer than normal because of the extent of the accident debris field which is several hundred yards. the video come in from ntsb is absolutely amazing. you see the debris spread along the runway you can see parts of the landing gear you can see luggage and metal from aing ams and everything then you see the fuselage itself ntsb investigators being out there. we have the new crash video shot just across the bay gives you an idea of how so many people can

>> we get a health of information. 9 pilots themselves can lend a hand in the investigation. they can determine what is leading up to t here. we get an idea of what the aircraft itself was doing how fast it was going the orientation. also whether there was sudden movements also the exchanges between the pilot and co pilot all will be invaluable. sounds like they will be able to determine what the cause of this se accident was. >> what happened following the review of the black boxes was the seed of the plane when it was landing. what did the speed have? >> you will hear a lot about the approach speed of the airplane.
2:36 am
we are talking about flow speed because you need a certain amount of airflow over the scene. we talk about the angle of the attack and the speed of which air is going over the wing. now for a triple 7 the approach speed 136 knots to about 149. if you start going below that you run the risk of stalling. the aircraft gets pitched up too high and it can no longer fly. generally when you have a stall you lower the nose of the aircraft. that is all well and good assuming you are at a height to do that you have enough ality actual tude to play around with. when you get that close to the runway you don't have much room to maneuver even if you try to recover from what could be an eminent stall involves adding power and lowering the pitch of the aircraft. if there isn't the altitude to do that a crash can result.
