anti-working policies. >> the middle not so much -- nothing gets done and people have no -- >> thank you all, you've been great. that is all the time we have left this evening. as always, thank you for being with us. let not your heart be troubled. bill o'reilly giving hell to president obama, reverend jesse jackson, reverend sharpton and so much more. >> president obama and the race problem, that is the subl of this evening's talking points me memo. the president delivered surprising marks to the press about the trayvon martin case and race in general. >> there are very few african-american men in this country who haven't had the experience of being followed when they were shopping in a department store. that includes me. i don't want to exaggerate this, but those sets of experiences inform how the african-american
10:01 pm
community interprets what happened one night in florida. >> and that's true. many black americans harbor at least resentiment for past injury. what president obama surely knows is that you cannot reach a fair criminal verdict or design, effective public policy that solves present problems by dwelling on the sins of the past. talking points believes the president was correct in addressing the race issue and framing with the martin case. he's the leader of america, and the country's talking about this. by the way, when you hear a pundit or politician saying, we should have a "conversation about race" that means you're? for a sea of bloviating which will lead nowhere. our leader has no clue, no clue at all about how to solve problems within the black community. and many are frightened to even brooch the issue. that's because race hustlers and the grievance industry have intimidated the so-called
10:02 pm
conversation. turning any valid criticism of african-american culture into racial bias. many walk away, leaving millions of law abiding african-americans to fend for themselves in violent neighborhoods. you want racism? that's racism. thus it is time for some straight talk, and i hope the president is listening tonight. we need him to lead on this issue. trayvon martin was killed because circumstances got out of control. he was scrutinized by neighborhood watchman george zimmerman because of the way he looked. not necessarily his skin color, there's no evidence of that, but because he was a stranger to zimmerman and was dressed in clothing sometimes used by street criminals. it was wrong for zimmerman to confront martin based on his appearance. but the culture we have in this country does lead to criminal profiling because young black american men are so often involved in crime.
10:03 pm
the isstatistics overwhelming. here's the headline. young black men commit homicides at a rate 10 times greater than whites and hispanics combined. presented with damning evidence like that, and like the mini-holocaust in chicago where millions are murdered each year. they blame guns, poor education, lack of jobs. rarely do they define the problem accurately, so here it is. the reason there is so much violence and chaos in the black precincts is the disintegration of the african-american family. right now about 73% of all black babies are born out of wedlock. that drives poverty, and the lack of involved fathers leads
10:04 pm
to young boys growing up resentful and unsupervised. when was the last time you saw a public service ad telling young black girls to avoid becoming pregnant. has president obama done such an ad? how about jackson or sharpton? has the congressional black caucus demanded an ad like that? how about the pc pundits that work for nbc news. white people don't force black people to have babies out of wedlock. that's a personal decision. a decision that has devastated millions of children and led to disaster both socially and economically. so raised without much structure, young black men often reject education and gravitate toward the street culture, drugs, hustling, gangs. nobody forces them to do that. again, it is a personal
10:05 pm
decision. but the entertainment industry encourages irresponsibility by marketing a gangster culler, hip-hop movies, trashy tv shows to the generation. president obama has welcomed some of the worst offenders in that cesspool to the white house, when he should be condemning what these weasels are doing. these so-called entertainers get rich, while the kids who emulate their lyrics and attitude destroy themselves. and then there's the drug situation. go to detroit and ask anyone living on the south side of the 8 mile road what destroyed their city? they will tell you narcotics. and they know addiction leads to crime in the basement. what do the race hustlers and limousine liberals yell about? imprisoning men for selling
10:06 pm
drugs. it's so unfair, it's a nonviolent crime. the thugs that sell hard drugs, no matter what color they are, deserve to be put away for long periods of time, they sell poison, sell a product that enslaves and kills, they are scum. when was the last time you heard the congressional black caucus say that. how about jackson and sharpton? how about president obama? the solution to the epidemic of violent crime in poor black neighborhoods is to discourage pregnancies out of marriage. to impose strict discipline in the public schools, including mandatory student uniforms and to create a zero tolerance policy for drug and gun crimes, imposing harsh mandatory prison time on the offenders. and finally, challenging the entertainment industry to stop peddling garbage. listen up. if a kid can't speak proper english, uses the f word in
10:07 pm
every sentence, it's disrespectful in his or her manner, that child will never, never be able to compete in the market place of america. never. and it has nothing to do with with slavery. it has everything to do with you hollywood people and you derelict parents. you're the ones hurting these vulnerable children. you want a conversation, you got it. you want a better situation for blacks. give them a chance to revive their neighborhoods and culture. work with the good people to stop the bad people. pumping money into the chaos does little. you can't legislate good parenting or responsible entertainment. you can fight against the madness with discipline, a firm message and little tolerance for excuse making. it is now time for the african-american leadership, including president obama to stop the nonsense. walk away from the world of victimization and grievance and lead the way out of this mess.
10:08 pm
>> tonight bill o'reilly is not finished taking his talking points to the president of the national urban league. >> i agree that the blk problem, which is very intense, violent crime, the reason that's happening to the extent that it is, is because of the disintegration of the african-american family. do you agree with that? >> i think that the disintegration of the traditional african-american family has caused great social problems in the black community and in america at large. but bill, we see the disintegration of the so-called nuclear family throughout all of america, not just in the black community -- >> not to the extent that the african-americans, and particularly in the poorer precincts are experiencing that, you knew that. 73%. it's a catastrophe. if you agree with me about -- that this is a driving factor,
10:09 pm
not only of crime, but of poverty. >> it's a factor. >> okay. if you agree with that, i think it's the primary factor. why isn't there more emphasis on solves that problem. why aren't there more public service announcements from your organization or other organizations telling black girls, don't become pregnant. that's not going to lead to anything good. >> well, here's where i think i'd extend an invitation to you to come down -- >> i want to know why you guys haven't put out a campaign to fight against these pregnancies that are leading to crime and poverty, why haven't you done that. >> you're not hearing the messages that go on in the community every day. in the houses of worship, in the meetings that we hold, in the programs that we undertake. >> you're not getting through. >> it's headlines -- >> your not getting through. i'm focusing on reality. >> what may be on cable television, and the headlines that may be in the newspapers, the reason why i invite you in,
10:10 pm
is because there's a whole conversation that takes place beyond the mainstream media in the community, which is deeply concerning, talks about these problems. >> but it's not working -- do you not understand, it's not working? what you're doing is not working. >> you're absolutely right. >> it's not working. >> so we need -- >> what we need -- we need to come together from the president on down, stop the b.s., stop the diversions, stop accusing people of one way or another and come to some solutions. and the first solution is, you have to stop young black women from having babies out of wedlock, you have to discourage that actively, and the second thing is, you have to demand discipline in your public schools in the innercities particularly, get the unions out of there. have the kids in school uniforms and demand standards and discipline. i don't hear any of that from jackson, sharpton or from you or
10:11 pm
president obama. i don't hear any of it from you guys. >> and joining us to talk about o'reilly's talking points, reverend michael faulkner, former jets player. welcome, sir. >> thank you, grelt ta, it's a pleasure to be here. >> let me pick eight years, so it goes into the previous administration as well. has the situation in the african-american neighborhoods has it gotten better for african-americans or gotten worse in the last eight years? >> it's gotten worse. and the reason it's gotten worse is because the economic climate is worse. unlike bill o'reilly, i live in the black community. i know what factors drive poverty and drive crime, and some of the dysfunction that he was so ready to talk about, and offer a solution. the problem is that we need economic solutions. we need economic incentives, which in the form of jobs, in order to occupy the young minds
10:12 pm
and to give them hope, there are always going to be criminal elements in every community, white, black, hispanic, whatever race they're going to be criminal elements within that community, and you can't stop that. however, the overwhelming majority of people in the black community in the districts that bill was talking about, want to work. they want the dig niltty that comes with jobs. >> in light of your answer that in the last eight years it's gotten worse, i think it's pretty safe to say whatever solutions we're pursuing aren't working, because things don't get worse if it's working, right? >> that's exactly right, but -- >> let me ask you this, okay. now, jack kemp, when he was living and ran for vice president, he had something, he was talking about enterprise zone or empowerment zone, which might speak to what you're talking about, the economic opportunity. the current administration, president obama. and even some of the leaders in the african-american community
10:13 pm
are well known like reverend sharpton, reverend jesse jackson, in the last eight years, have they improved matters for african-americans in the innercities or not? >> absolutely not. but that wasn't their job, they are entertainers, and they got paid to be entertainers. they were not the leadership. now, the president, i don't love all lump all of these people together. i was very proud of what the president said the other day, concerning the zimmerman case, now that we're having this conversation, it is important to understand the president spoke out as a black man, and i agree with much of what he said. >> well, i -- i think it's important to have a discussion about this, but i have to tell you -- let me ask you this, is there a place for white americans to be involved in this discussion. i will tell you, i spent 12 years representing poor people, mostly, 99% african-americans, i've seen, i haven't been in their shoes but i've seen some of the horrors of what goes on in the innercity.
10:14 pm
is there a rule for white americans to participate with ideas -- there's a fear of being tagged a racist, if you come up with an idea that somehow backfires. >> the problems facing the black urban community are my burdens. i do not need white people in my community to solve my problems. the problems -- >> but you need the money. >> you need the money, you need resources and you need a level playing field. and you need businesses to be started. not government money that is attached to all kinds of. >> here's the problem. if you tell me there has been some money, not a lot. you're telling me in the last eight years, whatever ideas have been in play haven't worked, it's like, you know, we need new ideas, because it's just not working. the money, we need maybe empowerment zones -- something to build up the community. >> something has been that a lot of that empowerment zone money and a lot of that government money went through the government channels, when it went through the government
10:15 pm
channels, it didn't filter down to the people who really needed it, we need private enterprises, businesses, business start-ups and we need incentives, we need jobs, we need business owners to be empowered to create businesses and create jobs. >> do you understand that there are many, many white americans who really want to make these communities -- in fact, it would be nice if they weren't separate communities. in some cities it's just become that way. do you understand that we would like to be part of the solution, there's so many in the african-american community that make it difficult and unsafe for us to come up with ideas, that it -- >> yeah, i realize that, but those aren't the leaders, there are other people in that community. there are -- you know, there are people other than reverend sharpton and reverend jesse jackson that can occupy that space. there are millions of business owners, hundreds of thousands of business owners who are working hard every day to bring jobs to the community. i'm working very hard, to bring
10:16 pm
jobs and resources to my community. >> and i know you are, and that's why i -- i'm glad to hear. let me ask you about this, the statistics that bill o'reilly threw out. he said 73% of the african-american babies are born out of wedlock. he talked about the entertainment industry, basically glorifying gangsters so that young people, that's probably -- i guess that's what the emulate -- it seems like an important issue. do we need some of our leaders to speak out -- i'm going to include reverend jackson and others -- >> they have spoken out. >> well, it's not working. it's not working. >> if they've been listening, you know, listen, not for nothing, bill o'reilly is an entertainer as well. and he did a bit of race baiting as well. overdrama -- >> i guess, you know what, i'm not close to bill o'reilly, he lives in new york. i'm not that close to him, but i actually -- there are many white americans who really care and
10:17 pm
are frustrated, because we feel excluded from the chance to do solutions, and it's almost like we're walking on thin ice. we would like to do -- >> i understand, and that's why i have buried myself in my work, the institute for leadership, people can go on our website, look at what we're doing, we're creating jobs, we're bringing health and wellness to our community, and we're doing it right. now, it's very difficult because i can't get the funding that i need, because every time i go to a government official they lie to me, and when i go to business people they give me the runaround, and so i'm left to basically pick these things up and do these things with worn out tools as the writer says. but it's okay, because i know the dignity that comes with hard work, and the value that i am instilling in the people around me, who see what we're doing. >> and i will tell you that i even had a conversation the other night with dr. ben carson's wife at fox news.
10:18 pm
they've been doing amazing things in the african-american community. it's a lot of the people who are the noise, who are creating a divide and making it very unsafe for people to try to join together and work. >> well, greta, i couldn't agree with you more, but it is important when you speak out, that you tout those people who are doing the work, and who are having the conversations. and who are instilling the kind of values that we need, for bill or for anybody to tout the statistics of what's going wrong, what's going wrong in the black community concerning the number of out of wedlock births or the number of abortions, we need to talk about that, and i do talk about that. but -- >> reverend, i have to cut you off. i think it's probably a good idea if you and i met and maybe we could try to come up with some ideas together. i think you're the kind of person. i think you and i could work together. >> i love it, and i look forward to it. >> thank you. now to tonight's hot button

president obama's approval rating is taking a nosedive. it's plunging nine points since april to a very grim and
10:23 pm
unimpressive 41%. that's almost the lowest in two years. the pole also showing 37% approve of president obama's handling of the economy. tomorrow, the president kicking off a series of speeches on the economy. could he change american's opinions? donald trump joins us. nice to talk to you, donald. >> hi, greta. >> the president's approval rating going down to 41% since april. why? >> it's a tremendous drop. but if you look at what's going on with this country, the respect and lack of respect we have throughout the world. they just don't respect us any more. i can tell you, we deal with people and the other countries to just look at us as a laughing stock. you look at so many different things, then you take obama care, which has been a total catastrophe, and i guess they gave it a 1-year extension. it's just a mess. it's a mess that nobody wants, that people don't understand. businesses are laying off people. real unemployment, there's
10:24 pm
probably 15%, not the 7 and a half% people are reporting, there's so many people who just gave up looking for work. we really do, we do poorly as a country. and shockingly, we're just not a respected country any longer. >> what do you think he thinks when he hears his ratings for handling the economy approval. 37%, disapproval, 56%. i mean, those are terrible numbers. >> well, you look at the welfare roles and you look at the people that aren't working and chose not to work, because there's no reason for them to work when they can do just as well by not doing anything. you look at what's going on, and it's probably -- it shouldn't be that surprising to him. maybe he understands it better than we think. the fact is that he is really putting the country into a situation where people don't have the incentive to go forward, they don't have the incentive to create jobs. and if it continues to go this way, it's going to be very sad for the economy.
10:25 pm
>> on april 14th, 2009, which was about two or three months after he took office. this is what he said at georgetown university. he said he was talking about his first couple months in office, was to fight a severe shortage of demand in the economy. the federal reserve did this by dramatically lowering interest rates last year, in order to boost investments much my administration and congress boosted demand, a plan that's already in the process of saving or creating 3.5 million jobs over the next two years. >> it didn't happen and we lost a lot of manufacturing jobs to other countries. if you look at what's going on with china and so many others, where they're just really -- they can't believe what they're getting away with, i have so many friends that live in china, very substantial business people. they cannot believe what the chinese politicians are doing to our politicians or our leaders.
10:26 pm
and they can't believe what they're getting away with. so, you know, if you're going to have a situation like that, things are not going to be good in this country. >> he talks about in this speech. this is in 2009. what was he telling us, what was he saying then and where are we? i absolutely agree our long term deficit is a major problem that we have to fix. >> we're at $17 trillion right now. you look at the kind of dollars that we owe, 17 trillion. we have huge yearly deficits and we don't have the jobs. and we're not manufacturing. you know, we used to manufacture. we used to be the great manufacturer of the world. we're not doing that any more. health care, all important, everything's important. but manufacturing brings dollars in. we're not manufacturing any more. >> you know, if you're 35,000 feet in a plane and you hit
10:27 pm
turbulence, you can recover. if you're at 1,000 feet you can't recover. is there a way for our economy to get revved up? >> this is a country with tremendous potential. you have to rethink, we have to get this country started again. you know, other countries are entrepreneurial. we're being outfoxed at every corner. we used to be the greatest. we used to have the right people negotiating for us. we don't have the right people negotiating any longer. we have to become a wealthy country again. if not, we can't take care of social security, health care, and medicare and medicaid and all of the things that everybody wants. and rightfully wants. we can't take care of them, greta. >> do you see the president as doing more of the same? or do you think if he marches out with his economic speeches he's going to give us a new direction or a new remedy? >> i hope he goes a new direction, the old direction
10:28 pm
isn't working. we have to incentivize this country to go back to work. they have to want to work, they have to get that ingredient that we've always had as a country, we don't have it any more. there are too many options you can sit back, relax, have a good time and pick up the check. you have to get people wanting to work again and that's not what's happening in this country. >> let me talk about your state, the state of new york. today mariel candidate anthony weiner speaking today with his wife at his side. did you see it and what did you think? >> well, i did see it, and i know anthony weiner, i've known him for a long time, he's a very sick puppy, there's no question about it, he's got a perversion. if you believe in the doctors of the world, it's very, very hard to reverse perversion, they say 100%. means 100% you're not going to get better. we have this man running for mayor, he's a sick puppy, and

10:34 pm
>> good afternoon, my name is anthony weiner, democratic candidate for mayor of new york. i have said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, today they have. as i said in the past, these things i did were wrong and personal to my wife and caused us to go through many challenge s. while some of the things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there's no question that what i did was wrong. the behavior is behind me, i apologized to my wife huma and i'm grateful she's worked through these issues with me, and i've had her forgiveness. i want to again say how very sorry i am for anyone who's received these messages and the disruptions that it's caused. my wife and i as i said are moving forward together. to some degree with 49 days left until primary day, perhaps i'm
10:35 pm
surprised more things didn't come out sooner. i'm responsible for this behavior that led us to be in this place, many ways, things are not that much different than they were yesterday. this behavior that i did was problematic, to say the least, destructive to say the most, caused many stresses and strains in my marriage. but i'm pleased and blessed that she has given me a second chance. for the past several months i've been asking new yorkers to also give me another chance to show them that i had a vision for the middle class and those struggling to make it, and i wanted to move forward. >> when we faced this publicly two years ago, it was the beginning of a time in our marriage that was very difficult. and it took us a very long time to get through it. our marriage like many others has had its ups and it's downs.
10:36 pm
it took a lot of work and a whole lot of therapy to get to a place where i could forgive anthony. it was not an easy choice in anyway. but i made the decision that it was worth staying in this marriage. that was a decision i made for me, for our son and for our family. i didn't know how it would work out. but i did know that i wanted to give it a try. anthony's made some terrible mistakes, both before he resigned from congress and after. but i do very strongly believe that that is between us and our marriage. we discussed all of this before around thonny decided to run for
10:37 pm
mayor. so really whey want to say is, i love him, i have forgiven him, i believe in him. and as we have said from the beginning, we are moving forward. thank you very much. thank you for your time. >> i'll be glad to take one or two questions. >> when did your wife finds out there were messages after the resignation. >> she knew all along this process, as i was more and more honest with her, i told her everything. this is something we knew going into the decision about whether i would run. >> is this over? are you in touch with any woman right now? you're not going to relapse if you become mayor? >> this is entirely behind me. it was when i decided to get in. we had this conversation. if you remember, in the early days of the campaign, people
10:38 pm
were pressing me for, is there more out there, i said, yes, i said that there was, and so to some degree, this was something we had in front of us, that huma just acknowledged. and we decided this was something we had worked through together. something we put behind us, and something we wanted to keep behind us. as i said, it's in our rearview mirr mirror, but it's not far, we work every day in our marriage. >> when you said there was more out there, there was more out thereafter you resigned in june of 2011? how do you explain that? the latest assertion, the latest chat as recent as august of last year. 14 months after you resigned. >> yeah, this -- i said there were more things out there, there were -- this is -- if you have as a fixed time the resignation, as the important
10:39 pm
