for the first time, we're hearing from new england patriots coach bill belichick about former tight end aaron hernandez who was accused of murder. >> this case involves an individual who happened to be a new england patriot. we certainly do not condone unacceptable behavior. and this is not in any way represent the way that the new england patriots want to do things. >> meanwhile, in the courtroom, a judge delayed a probable cause hearing for hernandez. wfxt reporter ted daniel has more. >> with a police escort, owe done lloyd's family entered court to once again lay eyes on the man accused of killing him. sporting a beard and sport coat, he seemed ready for business. little took place. at the request of the state, the judge postponed the hearing. sam sutter said it's standard practice, especially in a murder case. >> what took place today was in my view at least completely

routine. >> one of the main reasons the state wants more time is because the case against hernandez is being presented to a bristol county grand jury. if the grand jury indicts hernandez, the charges will be bumped up to superior court. >> your honor, the complaint should be dismissed. >> the defense argued against the delay. they say hernandez has been held in jail already for 28 days. >> given the facts of the case as we know them, we're confident that aaron is going to be exonerated. >> prosecutors revealed new evidence against hernandez. they say a box of ammo removed from the so-called flop house he rented in franklin had his fingerprints on it. the ammo for a .45 glock, the same weapon used to shoot lloyd in the torso five times. >> well, the stay of ohio where members of a jury there have found april woman guilty of poisoning her boyfriend with anti-freeze. holly mcfeature was convicted in the 2006 death of the man. he's the father of their two

children. the prosecution said that the motive was her desire to end that relationship. troubling news from the army. thousands of war records disappeared without a trace. the records involve information about combat and other operations in iraq and afghanistan. almost all of the records are from the 82nd airborne division. it was deployed multiple times for those wars. there was apparently confusion over which records must be stored or transferred home. the army says it is working to immediately resolve the issue. deadly lightning strikes in arizona leaving two people dead. police say that a married couple was spending the day with a large group and they were overlooking a scenic arizona cliff. that's when tragedy struck. police say that the lightning bolts hit them while they were standing along a rock wall. a teenage boy who was a part of that group was also hit by lightning. he was not related to the other victims. he's expected to be okay. we've got more weather now, don't we? >> yeah. an extreme weather alert.

tropical storm dorian forming north of the caribbean. >> this could be heading toward land. maria molina is tracking the path for us. good morning, maria. >> good morning. it's heading towards areas north of the caribbean. right now the storm system is very far over open waters in the atlantic ocean. it actually formed just off the coast of western africa. that's just to put in perspective at how far away the storm system developed. it is intensifying and we need to keep an eye on it. computer models are in well agreement that this storm system is headed westward. heading into monday or tuesday, this system could be a couple miles away from parts of the bahamas. looking at several days out in the forecast. maximum sustained winds stronger at 60 miles per hour. as we head into friday, sunday even into your tuesday, we're talking gradual intensification. take a look at where it will be tuesday at 2:00 a.m. the forecast. it's going to be just north of puerto rico and also the dominican republic. we do expect it to continue to be a tropical storm then and then the big question is, of

an additional $275 million for the irs. house republicans have a different approach. they want to cut the agency's funding by $3 billion. while you were sleeping, the death toll from a massive train derailment in spain rose to 77 people and it could go higher. lauren green has the new details for us. lauren? >> i heard an explosion. when i arrived, one of the carriages was already over the road. he began to get scared because one of the firemen said it might explode. >> rescue and recovery efforts under way after a train derailment in spain. firefighters can be speen hosing down a car after it erupted in flames. take a look as another car points upwards, the other end twisted and disfigured. >> >> translator: the train was carrying around 247 passengers according to our numbers. the derailment was very violent. >> the mangled mess left dozens dead and scores of people injured. emergency crews are working to

with that. over the last couple of days, there have been loud calls for anthony weiner to drop out of the mayoral race here in new york city and still, he's defiant. he says he's not stepping down despite the revelations that he was involved in an online tryst with a 22-year-old woman last summer. apparently, he used the name carlos danger to chat with him. actually, last night he sent out an e-mail blast saying that relationship occurred during a rocky point in his marriage with his wife huma abedin and that's all behind him. but the question this morning, is it really behind him? some of his fellow candidates in the race for mayor say this is a true distraction to the real issues the city is facing. we talked to people on the street, they too feel as though maybe he isn't fit for the job. take a listen to anthony weiner addressing that yesterday. >> these are things i brought upon myself. i thought they would come out towards the end of the campaign and some of them have. look, i'm pressing forward. i'm running a campaign based on

issues. i'm going to keep doing that and getting a good response so far. >> one person who actually is sticking with him is his wife. she penned a piece for harper's bazaar and in it she said "i love my husband. i love my city and i believe in what he wants to do for the people of new york." that's the latest from the gramercy of manhattan this morning. thank you, teresa. we'll see how that goes over with his wife. an extreme weather alert now. tropical storm dorian forming in the atlantic. >> this one is interesting. because it could impact the southeast coast in the coming week. let's talk to maria molina tracking this path. maria, usually the stuff is coming from the caribbean. this time it's coming from another location. >> yes. typically like you mentioned the caribbean or the gulf of mexico. but dorian is unique because it's actually the second most eastern storm to develop this early in the season. so it formed right off the coast of africa. that's a little unusual. we typically don't see storms forming there until during the

month of august or into september. the only other eastern storm or farthest eastern storm formed was bertha in 2008. here's a look at the forecast track. look at how far east the storm is now. it's over open water in the atlantic ocean over the next several days. it's going to continue to move to the west, northwest and eventually by early tuesday morning it could be over just to the north of puerto rico and also dominican republic and gradual strengthening is forecast now. it does have maximum sustained winds of 60 miles per hour. it has been intensifying. that's been very apparent on the tropical is the light picture. you can see all the computer models in well agreement on that forecast track heading towards the west, northwest. otherwise, very quickly, severe storms possible across the center of the country and high temperatures still hot in texas. triple digits forecast for the city of san antonio as expected, it is texas. it is summertime. supposed to be hot. but on the positive side, pacific northwest looks pretty nice. 81 in seattle. not bad. >> maria, thank you.
