about hillary clinton clip. no surprise there, but media can't get enough of anthony weiner as more details emerge from his sordid behavior. a conservative paper takes aim at fox news with comparison to the kkk. that got reaction from the king of cable. >> i'm not going to let this go. >> jon: and teen sensation justin beiber takes a hit for being pro-life. >> jon: on the panel this week, judy miller, columnist john concha and ellen ratnor and fox news contributor richard grenell. i'm jon scott. fox news watch is on right now. was paid by some in congress as well as in the media on issues that while important are not of the highest priority of the american people. >> jon: all right. what about phony scandals. how do you define them. jim, president keeps repeating the line? >> i think it's the jedi mind trick. it's working for them but there are some strange eruptions of curiosity. for example, jake tapper reported there was dozens of c.i.a. operatives in benghazi last year. there was out of the narrative. this emerging discovery of the relentless campaign for obama campaign to sit on the story. cnn had the story and to see if they can pick it up. >> jon: there is nothing to see and move along kind of trick? >> absolutely. this week was very bad in terms of distractions for the

obama administration because irs. when you start polly graphing c.i.a. agents once a week, the normal pattern is about three to five years for a polygraph. it suggests a leak of classified information you are getting into territory that clearly makes this administration uncomfortable. that obama doesn't want to explore. that suddenly makes this issue a scandal. >> jon: you are no supporter of what the white house does. they seem to suggest that the irs targeting conservative groups was not a scandal, benghazi was not a scandal. is he right? >> he did his interview, first interview with the "new york times" in three years. i'm talking about the president. he would not have done it if this was not beginning to affect his base. some of these quote, unquote,

phony scandals. you have people like from the new republic talking about larry summers and what is going on with that. i am telling you this is beginning to affect the base and that is a problem. >> jon: a piece of tape on the doorway to democratic headquarters might have been considered a phony scandal back in the day. nobody died in watergate. four people died in benghazi. that is line we've heard. cnn justify is a turning point. it woke the scandal back up again. it put back the focus there have been no arrests in that attack. for viewers who don't know cnn interviewed a guy who is wanted as potentially a suspect and "new york times" did right after the attack he was having a fuzzy navel at a cafe and benghazi is no-fly zone. president once sounded like o.j., we're going to track down the real killers, unless they are behind the 17th green. it ain't happening yet.

>> jon: on president obama's grand bargain, he claims he has a plan, but republicans keep blocking him and maybe these distractions keep getting in the way? >> i think this was a big turning point this week. the whole phony scandal comment from the white house and president was a real overplay. you saw a lot of reporters begin to say, wait a minute. not all reporters but mark murray who is a political editor for nbc news is one of those that constantly duped by the obama administration and specifically on this story where he offered up what was supposedly a new plan on the economy. what we saw was it was a campaign speech, nothing new except mark murray jumped immediately here we go again. white house is making another concession and g.o.p. is blocking it yet again. what we don't see from mark

murray that his wife was for obama and nbc has people out in front the administration and not getting called on it. >> jon: on the irs scandal, john fund from the national review noted this week that obama's admonition that we ignore the scandals has been picked up by many elite media supporters. as any journalist that has followed the trajectory of scandals knows that sex behavior is a clue those looking into the irs scandal may be getting warm? >> it was a brilliant piece. this is an example where the reality is catching up. another one is the reporters scandal. ask james rosen if he thinks they are phony or not. the example that the media under covered the stories, the house judiciary committee had a huge report on the reporter stuff and got almost no attention.

clinton. does it surprise you? >> it determines on the timing of these things. if these movies are shown two weeks before 2016 election, that is problem. both news organizations of nbc and cnn, chuck todd says we got nothing to do with this. that does bring forth a conflict of interest. where i have a problem is diane wayne playing hillary clinton. i don't know they are bases and stern may be a better choice. david cohen raised $1.4 million for the obama reelection campaign. this remind me of the movie pt-109 where president john f. kennedy hand picked cliff robertson to play him in the movie. sharon stone wasn't in that by the way. copy. >> i think the media want him in the race, its fun thing especially for new york. i think he has every right to run. i think he is ridiculous for running but he has every right. i was struck this week, though, they had such a great piece reminding us reminding us that rachel baddow and others that really took to andrew breitbart and trying to make it something into a phony scandal. it turned out not to be true. i think we need to remind the left they never believed it in the beginning. >> jon: it was democrats who proposed that the g.o.p. was having a war on women. i guess, maybe anthony weiner really likes women. >> he has his own relationship with them. emily miller is one of many conservative pundits that made the point real on person is mayor of san diego.

but in the "new york times" aim any and michael greenbaum about the clinton operation behind the weiners. they are standing in an apartment owned by a clinton donor. unfortunately now the clintons are discovering that he is frankenstein monster that had gotten loose on them. >> jon: and trying to distance themselves from them? >> last week were talking about that absence of reporting on the hillary clinton connection. now, we're into investigations of the other women who were sexting with anthony weiner. there is word in new york for this kind of thing. it's very new york word. >> jon: we have to move on. the editors of new haven register, they don't like rocker ted nugent. it appears they don't like

conservatives or fox news for that matter. from editorial earlier this week, the same basic message that the kkk has promoted for 148 years is embraced by the likes of ted nugent, fox news, ann coulter, an array of fringe conservative media and members of our own community. that unfounded bit editorial got a strong reaction including from this guy. >> the editor of the new haven register is matt derenzio. it's owned by a hedge fund. the boss is randall smith. we asked those men to discuss that irresponsible editorial. they all declined because they are cowards. they know they cannot defend that vile piece of garbage. they should be ashamed. paper has lost all credibility and it had better apologize in writing by the end of the week.

>> jon: matt did apologize, writing it was a poor choice of words that created an unfortunate comparison between the fox news and kkk. we are sorry for that. it's okay if you have an organization, a news organization even if you disagree them that compare them with the kkk. >> i wonder how juan williams feels about that. tom wiley, he said i didn't mean to say that. to put things out that and pull it back. they pulled a lot of papers and got a lot more publicity and completely irresponsible for saying something like that. >> jon: ellen, an unabashed liberal, is this a signal that liberal media just don't like opposing views? >> they may not like opposing views, what my criticism.

they put fox news and didn't back it up with one thing. >> remember they did apologize. that is important to note. the apology wasn't a full apology. i exchange emails with the editor this week. he did apologize for his editorial writer. i do think there is a problem the editorial writer is comfortable to say these outlandish things, but they apologized. >> john nolte of breitbart, he apologizes and does it again comparing them to kkk. >> jon: the question is how does it get out in the first place? >> you have one thing an administration in their eyes fox news is a news channel. does anybody remember that, not a legitimate news organization. so i wonder why liberals get the idea why fox news doesn't
