what is the future of assad and syria if no one will take action at this point after the disturbing pictures that we have seen. >> i think jamie, irrespective. what we need to understand really what the evidence is. i think irrespective of what the evidence is, i go back to my original point of how this is not properly thought through. military strikes have no positive outcome in my opinion. politically, israel and palestine, grass shoots of negotiation beginning there again will be undermined and you will have a threat of terrain attacking tel aviv. that is a serious possibility and with a new government in iran. and potential negotiations in looking at iran and stopping the production of enriched uranium. that is undermined and more importantly we are going to be straining relations with russia

congress regarding the possibly military strike against syria by the united states. what is a bloody secitarian battle is coming over the border to lebanon. in the past few weeks, we have seen a massive deadly car bomb miles from where we are in a suburb of beiut. and up in the northern area of trippoli. two different mosques targeted by car bomb. iranian backed and hesbollah fighting force for bashar assad in the battle inside of syria. they will retaliate against israel in a big way if the u.s. military action turns out to be a big thing as well. if it is more surgical. they are suggesting that will

of taking action in syria and john mccain certainly not an ally but beating the drum on attacking syria and now lindsay graham. and they are not necessarily partisan. i am skeptical if the congress will authorize. >> brad, she raises the issue of skepticism and senators ram paul and ted cruz are vocal about not intervening in syria. will they persuade senators to join them in saying no to the president and if that happens, what does the president then do about retaliating against syria for use of chemical weapons. >> kelly, certainly those opposed in the house are going to talk to colleagues and urge them to come their way on both sides of the issue. the president's authorization is broad and this is what democrats are outraged about.

and approve a potential strike. sending cruise missiles into syria is not as simple as getting u.s. law makers to reach an agreement. we spent time talking about whether or not the u.s. will or won't and a question of whether or not without un approval you can do it and will it violate international law. doug burns and former federal prosecutor and i call them nohere to discuss the international law is tricky and nothing like what we have here and i will start with you, doug. sir why doesn't necessarily sign on anyway to any of the agreements, treaties and otherwise? right. what laws would ally. >> yesterday, everybody was discussing can the president do this without the approval of congress and by the way, congress gets a review procedure

2008. been a tough critic in recent years. he just arrived a few moment ago. we got a picture of that, lindsay gram, republican colleague coming as well. we are told the two republican senators are having a meeting because look, the president has right now a race against the clock. he is leaving on air force 1 tuesday night to go it sweden and russia for the g-20 summit. he is trying to intensify lobbying effort, raise his game, if you will. they call it flood the zone inside the white house in terms of the president lobbying congress hard. his critics say, where have you been in it's taking too long. the pivotal moment is friday night. we have a picture of that meeting lasting two hours where the president and senior staff, sat down together and the president revealed for the first time really that he decided to kind of flip-flop on this idea of going to congress to get their approval. that caught a lot of lawmakers by surprise. there are republicans, that the president has sort after prickly relationship with now. that he needs to rely on and get

>> well, here is what i like about that question. by adding this amount of time while we come up with some decision, we know they have anti-aircraft capabilities. anti-ship they can fire at our destroyers out there. to me, the big issue is the ability of them through their proxies and hezbollah or even iran to conduct terrorist strikes somewhere. we are giving them time to do good planning on what they might like to hit. how they might like to hit. put pieces together in a clandestine fashion and do something, up to and including gas somewhere outside of syria against targets such as the u.s., israel or other southern interests. time is on their side, when you look at the ability to put together clandestine operations designs to inflict casualties on the u.s. or allies. >> do we have intelligence sources on the ground or cooperation among syrians that we are able to detect exactly where the chemical weapons and

assets are that we would want to destroy? >> we have very limited human assets on the ground. that's human intelligence. we have good overhead imagery. signal intelligence will pick information up but may not provide clarity to where some of the weapon systems are moved to. we have a limited -- we have good overhead imagery, but we couldn't watch every little piece down there that we have an interest in as it is moved to some new location. generally speaking, we probably got a pretty good picture on where the things are right now as they move them over the next few days. where they're going to be moved to and certainly they want it move potential targets to places where if we strike them, there is collateral damage. there are things they can come back with and use against us for having killed innocent civilians when in fact we tried to target the same things they use to kill innocent civilians. >> i want to ask later about
