expected. the outcome, though, is still a mystery. the good news for the white house yesterday the senate foreign relations committee narrowly signed off on authorization for the president to attack syria but had to make a confession to republican senator john mccain that calls for a broader goal altering the balance of power in syria that will win over democrats. john kerry made his case in the house froesers behind it hold up their hands suggesting that the u.s. would have blood on its hands the sceptic in front of him were unwavered. >> i spoke to 8th grards 1508th graders yesterday they get it we shouldn't be drug into someone else's civil war where there are no good guys. >> the president mane time offered what appeared to be a stunning reversal on the red line speech on chemical weapons usage a year ago.

president is going to try to flex his muscles to convince president obama that a u.s. strike would be counter productive. the russians are president assad's most valuable ally. they hold a veto on the u.s. securi u.n. security council. also the russians have a lot invested inside of syria. they have of course heavy air defense systems inside syria. they have supplied the syrians with a lot of their weapons. they have also demanded on a very public snierj proof of the use of chemical weapons in syria. whether president obama provide that publically in the g 20 summit or privately try to convince him those things remain unsaid. g 20 offers an amazing moment in history where the entire world leadership can come together. you have the leader of china who supports president assad and leader of saudi arabia who supports the rebels and president of france who said he
