[screams] >> alisyn: four people taken to the hospital. another treated on the scene. we are told none of the injuries was serious. one of the victims says someone with a camera came over to the student section to get video of them cheering and that's when everyone started pushing forward causing that railing to collapse. well, the lethal party drug called molly is reported to another death. took the drug before she died and collapsed at a club in washington, d.c. last weekend. the latest in a string of deaths tied to the party drug across the northeast. investigators warn there may be a deadly batch leading to the possible overdoses. they say the drug could be cut with anything from baby

story, of course, big weekend and syria is on the line with everyone particularly on capitol hill. syria charade some people are calling it administration is standing strong on its right to attack syria even if congress says no. so then why are -- is congress preparing for a vote as early as this week? we here in the senate and the president, tucker, is going to be making an address to the nation tuesday night. >> tucker: staring down the barrel of a major political defeat. throwing it back to congress. i don't want to deal with this. you make the decision. as of this morning the whip count suggests there is no way this is going to make it through the house of representatives. of course things change and it's possible the president will make a very compelling case. as of today it looks like he has lost the majority of republicans this the house of representatives and huge percentage of own democratic caucus. >> mike: last sunday it seemed like the other way around he was going to get the vote what has changed? >> tucker: republican leadership immediately came

out in favor of the president. >> alisyn: cantor still say they would support some type of strike. >> tucker: they are not being supported by their fellow republicans at all. >> mike: what if congress says no he could just go and do it anyway or do you have a way out there if congress says no as well, i believe i morally should go and attack syria but the people have spoken and they don't want me to do it. >> alisyn: spokesperson from the national security council gives, perhaps, a little insight into what the president is thinking. here is her quote: there is no change in our position as the president has said he has the authority to act. but his intention to do so with the approval of the congress. >> tucker: meanwhile, the president has been abroad at the g-20 summit and frankly hue mill qulatted i would say and i think a lot of democrats share this view. he was there with vladimir putin, of course, the leader for life of russia who was gathering to his side. all sorts of punitive allies of the united states who are saying we are now on russia's team. we are not for the united states plan in syria. and then the united states

losing apparently even the support of france. the president of france was of course on obama's side and now he is saying i'm not sure can i do it. i need the u.s. congress to act first. the wheels are coming off. >> alisyn: obviously the people who supported it whoss the party lines, oppose it is across party lines. you would not predict who would be for a party strike. dennis kucinich who is always antimilitary strike was for iraq as well. he has come out and he said that he believes that this could even be an impeachable offense for the president. listen to our fox news contributor. >> well, the constitution makes it very clear that the president has to come to congress to go it war. now he is doing that but we have seen some scuttlebutt that if congress defeats the president's intention to go to war that the white house might do it anyway. what i have said is that would be a very clear case for a violation of the constitution, which would

put this president in danger of impeachment. i don't think the country needs that or wants to go through that which is all the more reason why congress should vote against going to war and send a clear message to the president that they are listening to the american people overwhelmingly are rejecting going to war, entering into a civil war. creating the potential that this thing could spread throughout the region and engulf the region and bring in players from all over the world. >> i'm going to listen to congress i'm not going to do this and i was following the constitution. >> yeah. yeah. where are all of our friends in hollywood who, no matter what the crisis are always weighing in almost always on the left side. >> mike: crickets. >> tucker: overwhelming against the war in iraq and some against the war in afghanistan. we have heard virtually nothing on their views on syria. >> mike: heard from ed

[ female announcer ] call an allstate agent and get a quote now. . >> tucker: good news august unemployment rate dropped to 7.3% but fewer americans are now looking for work, that's why that number has dropped. the number of americans searching for jobs is the lowest in decades. what is behind the disconnect between these numbers? joining us now is economist and professor of business at the university of maryland peter morici. peter, thanks for joining us. >> good morning. >> tucker: administration are boasting that the unemployment number is down. they say it's good news. it's more complicated than that. >> absolutely. the number of americans that are not seeking work that don't have employment is up by half a million. in one month alone.

mr. obama's most effective job program is to convince adults that they don't need a job. >> tucker: unemployment number, like of the inflation number. i mean, these are rigged numbers. if you and i are creating them out of nothing. we would not use the metrics that they are using. it's not a straightforward measure of unemployment, is it? >> well, better measure would be the percentage of adults that have a job. and that's starting to decline. and, also, the percentage of adults that have full-time jobs. since the beginning of the year. over 800,000 americans report getting a part-time job on a net basis. only 30,000 on a net basis report getting a full-time job. this has become part-time america. everybody is working at either starbucks or mcdonald's. if it's college it's starbucks didn't go to starbucks it's mcdonalds. >> tucker: 6.4% participation rate. it hasn't been that low since 1978 which was a famously bad year for

america. what does poor tend? >> it portends an economy that it is very, very sick. people are so discouraged if they have a working spouse or a parent they have just given up. what it means is that optimism about finding a job is lower than a snake's belly. tuck it tuck so this may account that one sixth of all americans are now on food stamps. we are trying to figure out why that's happening. the obama administration is pushing food stamps aggressively trying to sign people up. that number inevitably grows when the unemployment rate remains stubbornly high, no? >> absolutely. folks go to food stamps when unemployment is high or when they're stuck in these part-time jobs. the income levels in part-time jobs are very, very low. even if you manage to put a couple of them together to you work 40 or 50 hours a week the rage rates are so low. it puts you into food stamps if you have got any kids. the states in rural areas are out recruiting people to be on food stamps to bring federal money into those rural areas. it's a remarkable effort at

an employment program. it also manufactures lots of democrats. ed asner should be cheering. >> tucker: america's job base is being hollowed out. the private sector is really really hurting. is the public sector seeing the same kind of contraction in how are government employees doing. >> government employment has been shrinking through recovery. this month there was a little bit of a lift. that's a good thing. it got bloated during the boom years because of rising property taxes and properties and local governments that didn't make adjustments. even now local governments continue to raise taxes to keep that from happening. there are just too many bureaucrats. try to build a deck on the back of your house. i did that two years ago and i did it 25 years ago. i was amazed how many people with clip boards came out with, you know, came out to inspect the deck from the city. it's amazing. so we need a lot more of state and local governments losing weight. it's not policemen. look at all the speed

traps. >> tucker: it's nobody business what kind of deck you build by the way. finally, can we just agree to ignore the unemployment number and go henceforth with the labor force participation number? i mean, it's a much more meaningful measure, is it not? >> i think we need to look at a variety of numbers. like your doctor when he checks your blood and looks at different numbers. the percentage of adults that have a job. from that a percentage of adults that have a full-time job. if we were grading this president on those numbers, why i hate to tell you, this but he would be out of the program in maryland. he would get an e and encouraged to go to the university in baltimore that trains pastry chefs. >> tucker: community college. peter morici thanks for joining us. >> take care. >> tucker: great video online but this one leaves you speechless. this man confesses to murder. >> my name is matthew cordle and on june 22nd, 2013, i hit and killed

here? >> i think the judge will look kindly on it i think the prosecution will look kindly on it. he is taking a huge risk because he has no garn tee as to what the the outcome of the case will be. normally when we would do something like this and go and throw ourselves at the mercy of the court. we would have borkd out parameters of a plea deal before you go in and throw yourself on the mercy of the court he is taking a huge jump and leap of faith by doing. this. >> mike: actually, is that admissible? would that be played in court? >> it is admissible. and the issue would be not whether or not actually admitted or the weight the judge or a jury gives it the issue here is him. can you see it not like an email where you don't actually see the person speaking or typing. this is a little bit different because it's actually him speaking so unless he comes mick mike what do you think of that. >> unless he comes in court and says he was coerced into making this video it's going to be admissible. because it actually can be confirmed that he made this video and he was the one

speaking. wherein in an email, for example, unless you actually saw the person making the email and sending the email it would be difficult to prove who actually sent that email. >> alisyn: to that point in that video confession there that we are playing you see him writing out i confess did i this. it seems as though he didn't want any lap holes. he wanted to take full responsibility. it's very refreshing to have somebody actually just say i messed up. i did it. because everybody, it seems like, when you get to court tries to game the system. tries to find a loophole. tries to find some way out of it. we are so used to that when somebody steps forward and says i take responsible, come what may. if i were the judge, that would really affect me. >> it's shocking because most of the time i have a lot of clients who actually go into court and say i want to take responsibility. until they learn what the punishment is. until they learn that oh, if i take responsibility that means i'm going to

prison or mandatory minimum or things like that. he may have decided he wanted to take responsibility but once he gets into court and he actually finds out what the penalty is, and that he is actuallying will at serious prison time, he may change his tune. i hope not but he might. >> mike: almost makes him kind of sympathetic. you kind of admire what he he did there alli, right? you don't want to turn the guy into a celebrity, ashley. >> no. he definite solid admirable. the good thing about this he tried to make it sort of a public service announcement and tried to tell people look, i made this mistake. don't make this mistake. i know what you going through. and so he really was trying to do good with it. i think that aspect of the shouldio is going to carry a -- video is going to carry more weight with a judge or prosecutor who is trying to decide his sentence. >> mike: the guy in florida killed his wife and posted it on facebook. >> alisyn: that was grizzly and gruesome in a way this one isn't. i will send out the address

seen six tropical storms. we have seen seven. that is more active. none of them legit storms. normally we would have seen three hurricanes by now and we're at zero. no hurricanes. i can tell you when you take a look at the satellite, tropical satellite right now across the area nothing of big concern. a tropical storm that formed earlier this week across the northern caribbean it dissipated very quickly. some activity that i think we could potentially see at least moisture across that east texas area across the gulf of mexico. but nothing at least in the next week that's going to develop here. if we get past september 12th or to september 129, it will be the latest we have ever gone without having a hurricane so far in the atlantic. it certainly looks like we're going to get and break that record. very odd because we expected a very active season this year. east coast today you are looking really pretty good. few showers this morning across parts of the great lakes this afternoon a few more showers across areas of south florida. all the action is really out across the west. a steady stream of moisture. another tropical system off

baja, california, bring more moisture in across arizona eventually into utah and up throughout parts of wyoming and nrn plains as well. we have got day or so before the majority of that moisture gets in there. here are your terms -- temps today. 98-degrees in kansas city. summer still holding on very much. tomorrow, take a look at this. another 98. 98 in dallas. send it back to you inside. >> mike: i'm flying in to kansas city after the show chilly to almost 100 degrees. >> alisyn: big international news. what are we going to do about syria? the president has just announced he will be giving a televise speech to the country on tuesday night to make his case for the military strikes against syria. but the question is, is that too late? have many in congress already made up their minds about how they want to deal with syria? >> mike: isn't tuesday, trying to sell to the general public i would think after trying to sell

it to the senate and to congress. almost everybody i talked to work in philadelphia monday through friday, almost everybody on the street that i talk to about this they still don't quite understand what we're doing and they don't want to go, so the administration doesn't seem to be selling the fact. and they all say why would we get in the middle of a civil war when the point is to punish assad for using chemical weapons. >> tucker: they are absolutely confused about. this the president seemed to draw a red line. he suggested the other day he did no such thing. attack unilaterally and throw it back to congress. got a window into the administration the other day when the american ambassador to the united nations samantha powers, high level advisor to the president explained that she thinks if the u.n. were only to tell iran that syria had used chemical weapons, that iran would say are you kidding? that's appalling and would draw their support of syria and the regime. the administration thinks

iran has some moral problems with chemical weapons which by the way they used in the war with iraq in the 1980s. that's instain. >> mike: insame getting the chemical weapons. >> alisyn: actually does help advise the president on matters such as. this came out to try to clarify what the president's position is as it relates to congress. >> mike: because it seemed like there was a change. >> alisyn: here is what he they said yesterday: he doesn't need congress. he is going to congress to ask for their authorization as of yesterday, that was the last head count. he does not have anywhere close to the numbers he would need. >> mike: explain what you just said. [ laughter ] >> tucker: this is almost as confusing as the administration's position itself. he doesn't need the congress' go ahead. he wants it, but if he

doesn't receive it, he may go forward anyway. >> mike: why some different opinions? does he need it or not? >> alisyn: according to the war powers act of 1973, he does need it and there is going to be any sort of declaration or act of war he does need congress to authorize that, but presidents have circumvented that in the past. were. >> tucker: here is the thinking on the hill as you pointed out alli. many on the democratic left are against it eleanor holmes norton a delegate from d.c. which thank god is not a state yet. very loyal and ardent democrat said this about her feelings on it watch. if he gets at all it will be because of loyalty of democrats. they don't want to see him shamed or humiliated on the national scene. at the moment, that's the only reason i would vote for it if i could vote on it. >> tucker: that's amazing

should compel us to action that the leap going into nations and launching missiles is a big leap for a lot of peoe mick mike why would we go in and retaliate and maybe even some of the people that got gassed hate the united states. you know what i mean? >> tucker: sounds like everyone hates the united states. lack, if we go in, it may be the right thing, may be the wrong thing. innocence will die because they always do in war. if you were one of the innocent to die in that attack. how would you know that you died to save the president's shame? that is not a legitimate justification for a military action. and i think eleanor holmes norton ought to be ashamed of something something like that in public. that's really an appalling thing to express. >> mike: let's talk about the economy then. >> alisyn: gentlemen, the new jobs numbers came out this week. they were not good. lower than people had expected. furthermore, july's job numbers were revised drastically downward. so, neither of those were

good signs. >> mike: people are giving up looking for work. that's one thing. >> august unemployment rate dropped to 7.3%. what exactly does that mean? is that good news? bad news? peter morici on this morning. he is an economics professor from the university of of maryland. he put it all in context for us. listen. the number of americans that are not seeking work, that don't have employment is up by half a million in one month alone. mr. obama's most effective job program is to convince itself that they don't need a job. it portends an economy that it is very, very sick. people are so discouraged that if they have a working spouse or a parent they have just given up. what it means is that optimism about finding a job is lower than a snake's belly. >> alisyn: here is a shocking number. the labor force participation rate. how many people are actually working. they want to be working is at 63.2%. just for some historical context for you. that is the lowest rate in

35 years. >> mike: there is a big brouhaha down in the casino area of atlantic city because they are firing a lot of full-time people and hiring a ton of part-time people. we see that in hospitals in philadelphia as well. >> tucker: obama care is driving. a lot of factors are are complex. the fact that the u.s. government is requiring employers to take on massive new costs for every full-time employee they have inevitably provides incentive for them to have fewer full-time employees. it's not complicated. >> alisyn: one bright spot in terms of economy. fertility rate is up. more people are having babies. people are going back to having babies. it had really dropped precipitously the last few years during the recession. in the past six months the birth rate is again going up to normal levels which shows optimism. >> it is. wouldn't that show optimism that things are getting better? >> i don't know if it shows optimism. >> boredom.

syria. >> turns out some of his toughest opposition is coming from democrats. who is playing politics. if congress votes no. will the president still go ahead and strike. those are some the open questions facing us. randy forbes joins us. is he on the armed services committee. very relevant committee. congressman, thanks for joining us this morning. >> thanks for having us this morning. >> does the president have the votes and if he doesn't will he do it anyway? >> well, i can't answer the latter question because this president has ignored the law several times already. i don't know what he will do. he may totally bypass the war powers act. i can tell you that is he not just losing these votes. theying away from him i listened to you guys talking earlier. some of the person hermine were confused. i disagree with that i think the american people are not confused. what's common fusing here is the president's foreign policy. they might have been confused on obama care and the president's bailout bills. but they are not confused about. this they are pretty united that they don't believe that we should be going

into syria. i think you are going to see that reflected this the vote. especially in the house. >> alisyn: congressman, you are on record with saying that you will not vote for military action in syria. so, given that the assad regime appears, given the evidence that we have seen to have used chemical weapons, what should be done? >> well, i think the number one thing we should do is not take our eye off of the two major problems we have got with our national defense right now. and the first one is iran. and i think that unfortunately syria is causing us to take our eyes off the bat. but the second thing, alisyn, is to really recognize that, you know he, we have had a dismantling of our military right now. $587 billion of cuts to our national defense and sequestration. f-22s back to 3. >> alisyn: not capable of doing anything in terms it of a strike. >> we are capable. we have stretched our military way too far. we have had our pilot

sitting on the tarmacs and not allowing them to be training because why wouldn't give them the fuel. number one thing we need to do to send a message around the world is to change all the trection we are heading and these cuts and begin rebuilding our military. that will send a very strong message. >> congressman, you are against this. it seems like most republicans in the house are but your leaders are for it john boehner, eric cantor came out almost immediately to back the president's plan. why did they do that? >> i can't answer for them. i wish they had not done that because the speaker had mentioned that he thought the president should listen to members of congress. well, i would like to have seen the speaker and the majority leader both of whom i have a lot of respect for, but i would have liked to have seen them listen to members of congress when we get back before they made this decision. because i have talked to at love our members. i can tell you that the overwhelming majority of them are adamantly against this action in syria. and, as you mentioned, the democrats are equally opposed to it. >> congressman, you have made a compelling case for beefing up our military and the message that that would

send. back to the chemical weapons, it is an international red line there are international laws against using chemical weapons. are we supposed to just sit on our hands while syria does that? >> well, alisyn, i think one thing the president has waited so long. he has lost any advantage he would have in sending that message. the second thing is, you know, we don't send strikes across the bough. the president has not made a case yet for what his military objective is, the strategy of how we would accomplish that and then the exit strategy for doing it one of the things that many of us know who sit on the armed services committee is you don't get to pick the number of days you are going to be at war. when you launch a war and say we are only going to thereby 48 hours, nobody can guarantee he that i think the american people are not ready for this huge commitment right now in going to war with syria. >> tucker: congressman randy ford, member of of the house services committee. thanks for joining us. >> thanks for having me. >> alisyn: disturbing new trend among teenagers. smoking egrets cigarettes.

shoes. what is riley dealing with here. >> when he was 18 months old he started having seizures. they grew and and intensified to where it started taking away his speech and a lot of his mobility and different things. and then when he was 4, he had his first brain surgery. which got rid of his seizures for about 10 months and in that 10 months he started to learn again and grow and but sure enough they started to come back again slowly. and then more intense and everything. and last october, he had two more brain surgeries, which removed the generator out of what causes seizures. they removed that out of his brain. so far he has been seizure-free ever since. >> alisyn: that's good news. so, ashley, is riley aware of what happened at the restaurant and what does he say about it? >> he is not aware. he doesn't understand. with the split brain, there

is things that he doesn't understand and comprehend. like jason said, there was a point that riley could not -- he could not smile answered could not laugh and he could not -- he had no life to him at all. and for him to be able to smile and laugh and make these noises, this is amazing. and people take those things for granted from their children. and for him to do that, i'm going to take him out in the world, because that's something that i'm grateful for. and -- home because that is who he is. >> alisyn: i think we saw a note or rilye -- riley holding a note with a message for the stranger. what do you want to say to the stranger? >> thank you. >> thank you. god in our child. thank you for seeing that

homes owned by veterans don't nt have potable water even though they do have potable water. and this prevents those veterans from getting va loans or having va loans financed. is this right? >> tucker, slightly different interest from that there is something like 60,000 homes as i recall in the 2000 census in the big island catching systems, off the roof and filtration process. 60,000, a way of life as most people around the world know it's a way of life in many places. roughly i think about 16,000 veterans who live on the big islands of hawaii. and what the state did, not the federal government but the state bureaucrat under neil abercrombie placed on their web site a catching water is no longer acceptable for drinking. >> va you have to have drinkable water. so, this bureaucratic

blunder if you will sitting up there. the va saw it and said we can't make loans under those circumstances. and good friend of mine, representative bob mcdermott, also a former marine himself has been trying to talk to the governor to get the governor to merely act with one stroke of the pen and remove that ridiculous statement. even though the university of hawaii says potable water through cashment system -- catchment system is very real and could work. >> tucker: government could fix it hamstrung cut off from va loans because of this ruling. he could fix it with the stroke of the pen and he is choosing not to. why? >> i have no idea. the governor has a long history of being -- he was antiwar rad particular dal during the vietnam i -- -- radical during the vietnam war. he used to have long hair but he cut that off.

>> i was buried approximately 27 hours. >> mike: you thought it was over. >> i thought it was over for me. >> mike: could you hear people and the dogs working the pile? did you know they were out there. >> i was really conscious through it all and i could hear noises around me. i didn't actually hear a dog but after being stuck a couple i heard voices and i started to come out. >> mike: why do we use dogs in a situation like that. >> dogs are one of the many tools we use in search. very efficient tool. they can cover the pile quickly and location of subsequent. they can move over the areas very agile that maybe the humans can't get over, too dangerous for them. >> mike: you were the last person i think to be found in that rubble. >> yes. >> mike: did a dog save your life. >> that's what i was told. i found the hand of a human

the southwest, again, drought still significant all across the west. we have got about 16% of that area is under exceptional drought at least. so, there is a lot going on there. there going to be quite a bit of rain, increased moisture to that monsoonal moisture next four to five days. some areas will see three to four inches of rain. that does mean more flooding threat. so be very careful out there. take the rain. get in towards utah. up eventually in towards wyoming and parts of colorado as well. flash flooding threat today it across parts of montana. some areas pick up 1 to 2 inches of rain. see some threat for hail and very strong winds. even towards the black hills of south dakota. just give yourself some time. be careful. the heat continues. still very much summer all across areas of the central plains. look at this. these temps are around 15 to 20 degrees above where you should typically be for this time of september. very warm. today you see that heat there across areas of the central plains. cooler across the northeast. tomorrow each a little bit

cooler. boston you are only to 71. see some highs into 60's across much of new england. those 90's hold on right across areas of all the way towards bismarck, north dakota. send it back to you inside. >> rick: thank you, rick reichmuth. we appreciate it syria is still dominating the news. the question what exactly is the plan? the details the president's syria's strike plan seem to change daily. officials have been asked to revise plans 50 times sips the pentagon first began considering what they are calling limited action against that country. what is going on? thank heaven we have governor mike huckabee here to lay it out for us. governor, what is going on? do they have a plan? >> no they don't have a plan. the plan is to continue to change the plan to adapt to whatever the political winds are blowing. this is like watching a woody allen movie. there is so many different plots going on and neurosis of trying to figure out what we are going to do. it's a tragedy because we are talking about human lives. human lives on the american side that are going to be

called to even firing missiles at some point this is probably not going to be limited to just shooting off fireworks. >> mike: if a leader uses chemical weapons, what are we supposed to do. >> we have to condemn it. here is the point f we don't have an international outrage, which one of the times that if the united nations cannot unite around condemnation of use of chemical weapons andism pose some other economic or other sanctions on syria. then let's jack hammer the whole thing off, float it into the east river and be done with it. it's an absolute waste of effort. but we don't have that kind of outrage in part because the evidence is not absolutely 100% concrete at this point. >> alisyn: why not. >> i think because one thing the inspectors didn't get there that quickly. the russians have 100 page report that they say refutes the 9 page report that the jats dependent upon. >> mike: this t. sounds like iraq. >> it is. we don't know for certain. we have a criminal justice system that says you don't

carry out a sentence on somebody until you are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. there is still some reasonable doubt here. taking military action without understanding what we know to be the facts is premature it. >> alisyn: governor, i need to clarify something. why can't we just launch tomahawk missiles. didn't this work in bosnia or kosovo. can't we just do a missile strike on the chemical weapons or the air, you know, artillery, stuff like that? why must it be boots on the ground? >> well, it doesn't have to be booze on the ground. -- boots on the ground. pentagon weapons and pentagon reports it's going to take 75,000 boots on the ground to get them. you can't take out the chemical weapons with tomahawk weapons. >> mike: they are moved around. >> plus, i used to live in a city that controlled all of america's nerve gas. pine bluff, arkansas. it's all been destroyed now. at the time, the problem was if you blew it up, you

be attached to that. aly? >> alisyn: thanks, mike. are violent video games partly to blame for some of the mass shootings we have seen in the past two decades. new research into those games suggest there very well could be a close connection. phil is the author of inside the mind of a teen killer. and is he our guest this morning. hi, phil. >> hi, how are you? >> alisyn: we talked about allot about this connection between violent video games and actual violence around the time of the newtown massacre. there has long been antidotal evidence of a connection between the two. what is the latest research suggest? >> well, i have personally talked to 200 teen killers, studied 1,000 cases. pretty much any time we have a mass murder incident like newtown, it's pretty much a given that these kids are going to be involved and fascinated with violent video games. i have a top 10 list of causes of teen murder. and violent media, violent video games is number two.

it's a very big part of these cases. >> alisyn: not just new town. the columbine killers killers e big. the virginia tech killer was as well. jared laughner, gabriel giffords was. norway shooter. aurora movie theater culprit and of course then new town. it's just undeniable that there is a connection but, can we go so far as to say that violent video games make kids violent? >> i believe it's a multiple -- teen murder is a multiple cause crime. in my research it takes three to six causes to make a teen killer. violent video games or violent media is one of those. there are a lot of people who say you can't blame it on violent video games. you can can. it's not just one cause but if you have multiple causes. unstable home, bullying at school. drugs and alcohol. you throw he in violent video games it becomes very very dangerous. it is definitely part of teen murder i think we need

to take it more serious. >> alisyn: kids that have previous disposition to being unhinged. when you add the flammable factor of violent video game, it sort of pushes them over the edge. what we have heard before is that it's the constant repetition, the simulation of murder that gets them comfortable with it did you find that? >> absolutely. these games are really like training films. we're training to kill every day in america on average five teenagers commit murder. 9 kill themselves. this further fires these kids up. they will play these games for five or six hours a day. us as adults don't do anything five or six hours aday. these kids are engrained in it sometimes 8 hours a day. it's repetitious. >> alisyn: what is the answer? >> the answer is we need to take this more seriously. we need to look at the

research. the american medical association has done a lot of research and released some studies that there is a causal connection between the two. and i think we need to, instead of putting warning labels on these games. start enforcing them like alcohol, tobacco, poring. we don't -- pornography. we don't sell those to children because they are dangerous. we need to treat video games the same way. how many more now towns are we going to have. adam lanza was playing modern warfare live. is he playing a game. >> alisyn: be absolutely. excellent point. we appreciate you sharing it with us. the book inside the mind of a teen killer. thank you. meanwhile, while you were sleeping. we have tell you about this terrorists with ties to the taliban. we have details for you. he has won four nflers so does nfl hall of famer terry bradshaw have what it takes for this next challenge? cheering up grumpy cat.

will be helping him out on the other side of the aisle. most of the democrats when it comes right down to it won't want to neuter their president in a moment like this, such a high risk vote. so i think the senate unless there is a filibuster will be behind if. the real issue is in the house. if i had to guess, i think it would be a cliffhanger. i think he'll win by one, two stroet votes at the 11th hour. >> democrats in the house will have to swallow an awful lot of principle to vote for this after going acce7 years after preside bush. ironies abound. >> there are a lot of ironies here and i think the best appeal to the left is on the use of chemical weapons against a civilian population including apparently killing hundreds of children. this sort of thing hasn't been done against civilians since adolf hitler gassed millions of his civilians in the second

world war. so, yes, there is a pais an ele. but the gassing of children will resonate and will convince enough of them to stand with the president. but not the by a lot. >> so what if he doesn't get congressional approval, will he move forward? we're getting mixed signals. >> he can, but it's a real disaster because at that point, he'll have no international support or -- you talked about ironies. the one nation standing with us, the french. >> yes. >> some ironies there. but domestically, if he has no international support, if congress has voted no, he can go forward, but that makes it very hard and i think the likelihood is that he would not. and again this is such a high stakes roll of the dice, at the end of the day, i think a bare majority will decide not to neuter our president before the world and toy boehner, eric con

tore, they don't want to see a country weakened before the rest of the world. >>neutering the president, is that justification? >> no, but it's beyond the issue of president obama. from the city presidency is an institution and second point is the deterrence of other back actors. iranians are looking at this. if we allow assad to act with impunity, they will know that all of our statements about their nuclear program are meaningless. the north koreans will know that their nuclear program can go lady. hezbollah can act with greater impunity knowing we won't counter what they might do. so all of our enemies will be be emboldened to take steps against the national security interests in ways that will be very harmful in the long term. so it's not just about the prestige of this president. it's about the institution of the presidency and deterring bad
