threatened. the president is set to speak to the american people. and judging by five year was performance we'll not hear anything compelling. it is not only the president. but john mccain and others are not articulating a clear foreign policy. >> with senators graham and mccain outside of the white house, we got to hear their vision of where the president has gone wrong and what they would do going forward. top republicans have said what they would do. how big of a job for the president on tuesday night. is it too late to convince the public that his way is the right way attacking syria in >> i think so unless there is a dramatic change. the international stabbedard that is violated and we need to go in and someone used chemical weapons and we are going to punish them so that others are not going to use that.

that is not a strong enough rationale. it doesn't so many like obama or mccain calculated who it is going to help. who runs syria after the war and who controls the chemical weapons. we don't know if a bombing helps assad. if he survived he looks resilient. it could help al-qaeda or the muslim brotherhood it doesn't seem like anyone in washington gamed it out sufficiently. >> scheinarios of pay back. if we attack syria our border from beiut is only 45 miles away. they could get a plane off and drop a bomb and attack it. if we hit them back, are we at war? >> by definition we would be. i don't know if that would be recognized. we are in a state of conflict with iran since 1979 and
