nc. that's it for today. thanks for joining me. until next time, i hope you're learning to be a more healthy you. president obama going all out as he tries to rally support for military attack against syria. but right now, he faces an uphill climb. welcome to "america's news headquarters." the intense campaign will culminate on tuesday. that is when the president will deliver a prime time address to the american people from the white house. and he hopes that this gruesome video that fox obtained from a u.s. government official which reportedly shows victims of the chemical attack will help make the case of the syrian regime must be punished.

national correspondent steve is live in washington, d.c. how is the press conducting this for support? >> right, heather, the president is making calls, on capitol hill, tomorrow he appears on the tv networks, including here on fox. then on tuesday, at 9:00 p.m., as you mentioned, he'll address the nation from the white house. in addition, secretary of state john kerry spoke in paris today said nerve gas is much more insidious than conventional ind. it goes wherever it takes it. who horrendous to describe. >> mr. obama wants a limited action to punish syrian president bashar al assad while using chemical weaponses while tipping the balance of the rebels in that syrian civil war,

heather. >> so how is opinion stacking up on capitol hill? >> well, there is strong opposition. and it comes from both sides of the aisle. here's a sampling. >> i'm a big supporter of president obama. i have great admiration for him. i support him on almost everything. but sometimes, friends can disagree. we're being told that there's two choices, do nothing. or bomb syria. clearly, there have to be other choices in between. we ought to explore them. >> i just wish the president had laid this out better. i wish he'd quick bagging away from his own red line. i wish he were more a commander in chief than a community organizer. >> the debate begins as early as tomorrow. >> thank you, steve. tomorrow, as lawmakers consider a possible military strike on syria, president obama will sit down with chris wallace. now that interview will air during a special report with brett bear on monday, 6:00 p.m. eastern time. all of this in advance of the

behind the curtain and see what marketers are getting. what kind of information they're getting about you. you go online and basically, this company has taken a look at government records. drivers licenses, tax accessers, websites, anything that's out there about you. and the reason they do this, they sell it to marketers, to their clients. so that their clients can then target the right kind of ads for you. you know all the annoying ads you get. >> so you provide information to them, and then they turn around and sell it? >> no, they find the information about you. >> that's out there. okay. >> this new website allows you to find out what they're selling, basically what they think about you. and you can go on and correct it and edit it if you want, like the best kind of marketing sent to you. but i'm not so sure it's exactly got all the bugs out. i actually went on to find out what was being said about me. >> right. okay. >> first of all, you have to give out the last four digits of

your social security number. you have to give your birthday. there's a lot of information you give them what i found out i was of german descent, i am actually port portuguese. this is one i loved my marital status is inferred single. i don't know where they found that out. >> it could be wrong? >> it could be wrong. they're very good on household information on income and all that. you can edit that and their client will have a better sense of who you are. you'll get the ads coming to you. the other thing you can do, you can opt out, saying you want no more ads from this company if they do that, it's a gamble, a lot of people do that, they're going to lose their business. >> right. participating in something like this, would that open you up to

more identity theft? is that a possibility? >> i don't know. >> when you talk about providing the last four digits of your social security number and your birth date, that concerns people? >> yeah, it does. who knows who can hack into this, whatever. identity theft is already such a threat and such a risk, honestly, i figured i'm going to go on there, a lot is known about me. i'd rather know what it is that's being said. >> and it's serious because that can affect your credit rating vand long-term repercussions? >> yeah, absolutely. but you know, google, all these companies know so much about you from what you do on your computer that, i don't know that this is an added risk that you're taking. >> so what is your best advice for people? i mean, should they participate in something like this? >> well, i want to know. and also, if you don't like all of these ads, you can opt out, you just hit a button and you're not going to get ads. this is a major company that supplies information to a lot of

there is an art whether he is responsible. most folks think he is responsible. the question is, what should we do? that is where he should focus the attention. second, i don't know if you saw the g-20 press conference with the president, he might have had jet lag in the early hours of the morning but he came across as defeated talking about how hard this is, how hard it is to get votes and the difficulty of the mission. to rally people to strike at assad, he has to provide a positive and emotionally energetic case and say the united states is the one country that everyone relies on, the shining buy con on the hill. this guy is evil. it is up to us. we have done it before and we have to rise to the challenge. >> heather: should we decide to go in and perform the military strike, give me the pros for doing that. >>guest: as everyone says, all the options are bad.

this is a bad situation. it is a civil war. there are chemical weapons. this is as bad as it gets. best case, we go in and hit him and we take away some of the folks and we say you do this again, it will be worse next time and he will say, fine, i am winning the civil war anyway, and he declares victory because he survives and we declare victory. >> heather: do you really think that is a possibility? >>guest: there is a very good possibility. but he doesn't want to drag israel and turkey and the united states into more because that puts him at risk. he wants us to go away. in the past, he has not struck back when israel in 2007 he did not strike back. however, we can buy this deterrence. some. if he starts losing again and he was losing and now he is winning. if he loses again there is

nothing we can go to stop him. >> heather: the other side of the coin, the art against a military strike, would be that none of that happens you just described and the opposite, in fact, does. >>guest: the best case for those who are opposed to the war, there are a lot of unknowns and someone could mess this up. that is why we are here to begin with because bashar al-assad messed it up and the war spread. i don't think the syrians want it to spread. we don't want it to spread. israel doesn't want it to spread. >> heather: what about iran? >>guest: they are in the last couple of weeks, backing away from syria. they were victims of chemical weapons during the iran and iraq war and members of the chemical weapons convention. they feel...uncomfortable. they are tied to syria but they do not like their position. >> heather: what about the rebels and the different

factions? we had a report out today that talked about some rebels taking over a christian village and, in fact, they were backed by al-qaeda. >>guest: exactly. this is what makes this such a hard policy program. all the folks who were rebels if they were good, obviously, assad is a bad guy, a really, really, really bad guy. not rebels -- if we were confident the rebels would be democrats and would win, this would be a lot easier to call. there is a personal, 10 percent? is it 20 percent? there is a personal that are islamic extremists. if the rebels win, who takes power? that is the question. or does it descend into one set rebels taking part of the country and another set of rebels take another part, like afghanistan. that is the tough part: the rebels. the president will art it is about chemical weapons.
