tv The Five FOX News September 26, 2013 11:00pm-12:01am PDT
11:00 pm
7:00 p.m. on october 6th. mark your calendars senator, thank you for being with us tonight. anyway, octoberto the floor. cruz, the crack pot is getting the grief on and on. hello everyone. i'm kimberly guilfoyle. the president said that before his election. we're five days from the fundamental transformation of roll out on tuesday. the ma joerty of americans don't want it. president barack obama is still pushing it. as usual, he took a cheap shot at fox news. >> you don't have to take my word for it. if you talked to someone that said i was watching fox nice and they said it's horrible. and you can say you know what, don't take my word for it.
11:01 pm
go on the website, see for yourself what the prices are e see for yourself what the choices are. then make up your own mind. >> it's not fox news that doesn't like this legislation. it's the majority of americans including joe mansion from west virginia who broke rank today to oppose the individual mandate. by the way, the president promised to sign up for the bill after its pass act. will he? senator ran paul thinks he should. >> will the president take obama care? he loves it so much. >> i love the fact president barack obama recommended to watch fox news because he does. that's fantastic. maybe you'll realize obamacare -- listen, i think we should change the name. it shouldn't be obamacare. it should be demo care. let them wear this great thing
11:02 pm
they think is awesome and will help so many people when trying to beat republicans in 2014. what are you doing? >> bob, do you need to see a doctor? you have a pained look on your face. he's admiring. do you have any problem with the rhetoric? >> i'm glad you brought up the fundmently transform america. that was days before he was elected president. he said if i get in there, we're going to fundmently transform america. we're a couple of days from that. sad day, tuesday. >> a lot of different messages going back and forth. how do you think the president is doing in terms of communicating the message? now the polling is not on his side with this. according to the president he's doing just niechbfine. everybody should be happy. you start to see anxiety.
11:03 pm
i think the reason poll numbers continue to dee tier rate is people that work hourly jobs are seeing hours cut. say you're a mom and dad and both need 40 hours a week in order to mic ends meet. you're getting cut lower and lower because employers don't have the penalty. 29 hours a week. both parents find second jobs which further adds to decline of the family. implications are much bigger. you have the underlying anxiety of people saying we don't want it. yoe i don't think it's going to get better in the next few months unless they delay the bill at least a year to work things out. >> delay is key. i think they've delayed the employer mandate but not individual mandate. imagine you were boarding a
11:04 pm
plane and told, sorry the plane is not safe for the crew but okay for you. that's obamacare. if bad for business, how is it okay for the individual? the thing that's hilarious to me, comical is dismissing $67 million from the irs fund for the obamacare implementation. before it's underway, it's kruptd. the government can cheat the system before the system exists. how do you do that? absolutely incredible. >> how are we going to pay for hit? that's the other problem. >> let me put a up couple of points out without you being interrupted. 85% of people that have insurance now will not have it changed at all. they'll have doctors, whatever they need. it's true people are losing hours to this. it's not across the country. the price as obama says go to the website and take a look. prices are lower than the scare tactics we use on this show to try to get people to believe
11:05 pm
it's going up 400% which it's not. social and medicare were opposed in polls bigger than this. you wouldn't do away with them today. >> wait a second. the point is, you're gloating over the fact when you give somebody a drug you're hooked on it. the fact is, nobody gets rid of programs once they're used to it. you're grateful even though the program itself is destructive. obama didn't seem certain his own program would not hurt the economy. he was talking about that and wasn't sure himself. as you watch it destroy the 40 hour workweek, you can't explain it to him. explaining work to obama is explaining socialism. >> i like bob. i think your whole thing you just did, i don't think there's
11:06 pm
one real number in anything you said. 85% should be able to keep -- that's ludacris.z not layoffs is ludacris. it's 100% over the next 15 years. where did you get that? >> where i get it from -- i accept the fact people are losing hours to work. losing hours to workr< nmipeople greg or kimberly or me e our position are not going to change. 85% of the people in the do country -- >> people struggling to stay in middle class are the ones being harmed. it's not just hours being cut. i believe american businesses when they say we are deciding not to hire. we are waiting. it's the delay. the more you have people walk ago way from the work force and choosing medicaid. i believe there's a better way.
11:07 pm
i think competition could be infused in the system. that 85% number, you could get to 100% and people be happier with their care. social and medicare, if you had a chance to design both programs today to be, you would not design the systems to look like they are today. we know what happens under socialized medicine. a lot of people are looking for the president to come to the table and say decent ideas in here, let's work together to make it better. >> dana, the productiveness of a program doesn't matter to a liberal. it's about power and self interest of the public servant feeding the beast. even though people are pushing for obamacare, they're running from it. they know it's bad.
11:08 pm
they don't care. it's another arm of government they control and insert -- >> do you think government is good for anything? >> military, protection, safety. that's it. >> okay. >> let's take a listen. an excellent question from ed henry to mr. carney. you going to sign up for it? who's it good for? >> will carney enroll in this? >> if i did not have employer provided health insurance like i'm sure you do, i would absolutely enroll. it would be for affordable. >> earlier he's saying privatization is better that you can get a better deal if you go to private insurance companies trying to do hit on your own versus this social experiment running amuck going to have a -- >> in one case, i forget the state -- >> i'm talking to eric. >> where do you get your
11:09 pm
information? >> i get it from other out lets besides just you. >> health insurance companies are not going to be a part this. >> bob, they're pulling out. >> if we're going to talk about obamacare from here on out and i know we're going to have to, could we please back up what we say when we say it. >> whoa. >> back up our -- >> i want to know how many businesses are laying people off. >> mentioned a lot last week. i talked about 100 cutting back hours. you said that's not a lot. >> it doesn't matter. no number is significant. he doesn't think that's so bad. that's the problem. >> how many, like even a small amount of businesses laying people off is okay. why are they doing it? because of obamacare. >> we can cut through you this. we're not going to agree. i understand that.
11:10 pm
in my view, health care is a right. it is a right guaranteed in the constitution when it says life, liberty and happiness. it's not a gift. it's a right. >> a product? >> absolutely. >> we're not talking about that. obamacare health insurance. where in the constitution does it say that you have the government that provides a product to citizens. nowhere. >> i consider life being health. by the way, you offer the private enterprises. up to me, there would be a single plan. i understand that's not going to ever happen. leaving it up to insurance companies that i think have been a disaster for this country in health care. >> what are profit margins compared to new york times? >> they're very low. >> now take a look at new york times profit margins? >> you want to bring that in. >> i'm calling on --
11:11 pm
>> they make a lot of money. >> they do? i thought they were going under. >> back up to the question is it a right on health care in the constitution? there's nothing that says that. does a civilized society want to provide and make sure people that need help have that? we have that in many programs. the biggest being medicaid. what's going to happen is you will end up with a three tiered system. wealthy people will walk into doctors that no longer accept insurance. they'll say i'll pay you $250, whatever it is for the test. second tier who have says you know what, i'm going to medicaid and they'll have to deal with a substandard system. then there will be the rest of the people in middle class that struggle to figure out software glitches and plans without having a comprehensive international interstate net
11:12 pm
work to sell across state lines. going to be a disasters. >> how many people do you think really will go to medicaid and leave their current? >> i will make a prediction. i don't know exact numbers. when you look at people that decided to stop looking for work which is why the unemployment rate has stayed where it's at. about 10%, the real rate. many people decide they'll go to medicare and medicaid. it's not worth it for them to try the other way. >> bob, we're going to take a listen to the president. he's talking about obamacare saying one congressman says the most dangerous piece of legislation ever passed. >> one congressman said that obamacare is the most dangerous piece of legislation ever passed. ever. you had a state representative
11:13 pm
somewhere say that it's as destructive to personal and individual liberty as the fugitive slave act. affordable health care is worse than a law that lets slave owners get their run away slaves back. >> reflection on that greg? >> no. >> smart thing to say or for polling? >> obamacare doesn't need defunding. it needs ex er schism. it's the damian child nobody wanteds. he can laugh about it. i want to point to this promotion i think it's the white house. it showed up on their twitter feed. they call it adorable care act. they're using cute pictures of animals to sell the act. i was thinking how silly it is, but it makes since. if you're on obamacare, your
11:14 pm
life span will approach that of a duck. look how adorable the ducks are. >> we're all sitting did ducks. >> you said health care is a right. do you know anyone in this country denied health care ever? >> therefore everyone is afforded health care. obama care isn't health care. in the constitution there's nowhere it says every american should be provided health insurance. >> people that are not insured go to emergency rooms and get taken care. the cost is handed off to people that have insurance. >> tell me you agree obamacare is not constitutional? >> i think under the terms of right, yes, it is constitutional. >> here's what i'm saying a lot of negativity is coming from on obamacare. when it comes to health care today. four years ago people worried about if they were going to lose
11:15 pm
their jobs and keep health care. there are good things people agree on. taking your health insurance from job to job especially if you have a couple of part time jobs in order to make a living. the final anxiety people feel about health care is not going to go away because of obamacare. that's a lie told to the american people. the rude awakening is going to be painful to people. our health care system could be better. we chose the unfortunate path. >> there will be a percentage of people. if i were obama, i would not use the slave analogy. >> besides that, american people -- 43% approval rate, lowest since march 2012. >> i'm not at all surprised. >> he's had a series of bad months. by the way second term presidents in their first and second year always do badly. it's the reason they don't win
11:16 pm
midterm elections. leaving that aside, i think the idea is, we're all putting this out here that it's going to be a disaster. i really want to see what happens. i'm a beneficiary of it. i'm biassed maybe. i had heart bypass surgery. i pay $420 a month for insurance. >> that's a beautiful story. >> it's october. could it be obamacare is haunted? halloween is coming up. obamacare is like a haunted house. every corner you look there's a corpse. it doesn't close in november. it keeps going. ladies and gentlemen a twisted metaphor. >> coming upéy:7ñ next, the oba administration wants us to think al qaeda is on the run. the president of somalia is warning the group that attacked the mall in kenya could come next to the united states. are we being told the truth
11:21 pm
the al qaeda linked group al shabaab has claimed responsibility for the mall attack that killed dozens and injured dozens more. the group warns the attacks will continue. will the u.s. be targeted next? eric holder dismiss had the today. >> i would not say we have evidence al shabaab is planning to do anything in the united states. i'm not sure they have the capacity to do anything in the united states. it doesn't mean they were not taking the threat they posed as a p we are taking that as a serious one. >> the chairman of the house intelligence committee told fox news this administration needs
11:22 pm
to take al qaeda threats more seriously. >> if you believe al qaeda has been beaten and we don't have to worry anymore, you'll see a lot more nairobis in other events. this is no time for the administration to take the posture that we can slow down, take the foot off the gas. that is dangerous. >> all right. this is going to be interesting for discussion. kimberly, start with you. you said why is this interesting. >> because of now there are no american interests at stake. go ahead. >> from a global perspective shouldn't we be concerned about terror groups in the middle east or north africa. if they can do it there, they can come here as well. we have to pay attention. i don't think it's time to roll back. >> it's a syria like discussion is it not? >> exactly. >> not saying going in and bomb
11:23 pm
anybody -- >> if you think we have a responsibility for al qaeda which is now a group using a name and they're terrorist. do they pose a direct threat to the united states? i don't believe people in somalia in that division does. >> a godless, governmentless country, should we be involved in somalia? >> whether or not we want to be, we are. we have to be. it's a failed state. that's why i'm for more spying, more defense spending, end the sequestrati sequestration, more drones and more gitmo and more coordination with allies. parties have been all week long. front pages of the newspapers are not covered with worldwide alarm to fight a global war on
11:24 pm
terrorism. it inches closer and closer to our shores. >> did dana just become a hawk? >> your thoughts -- terror is a growi ing problem. when do we get involved? >> we should always be involved. we're the bug man that kills the roaches. this is our job. because it was in afru) we shouldn't give a damn. that blows my mind. how could they strike us here. it would require assistance from within. it requires communication. stop the communication or catch them? intercepts by the" god bless. yesterday you just sat here and talked about the threat of radical islamic against christians. christians getting killed in pakistan and kenya. now you're saying it's not our problem. it is our problem. these are roaches. we have to gas them. we have to kill every terrorist.
11:25 pm
>> take it easy roach man. >> i can't believe you would say that. >> i didn't say it. i said is it our problem? the question is, is it our problem if that's direct threats. your syria position you said don't use americans -- >> syria is an actual government nonetheless. terrorists have root causes since the beginning of time. when they take down a building and kill people, they say it's because of this. because of your involvement. they killed hundreds of muslims. there's no root cause for that. there's no root cause for slavery in africa driven by islamists who kidnap people and turn them to slaves in africa. there's no cause for that. >> i want to say quick, bob, because your position is inconsistent. at one point you say go in follow the president, bomb and
11:26 pm
do something and should care. here you're saying should we care? >> i think he was just asking a question. >> that's fair. i'm following its up. >> what greg just said about it, a governmentless country is a potential real serious threat to the united states. i agree. >> it should be a uniting factor for countries like america and russia. we should be uniting against something like this. we have the same problems. >> correct. >> i agree on those part wills. >> terrorism doesn't live in a bubble. it takes the path of less resistance. we roll it back and act like it's not our problem, we're losing badly. >> when you say hands off, what do you mean? ronald reagan, peace through strength. >> yeah but strong military and defense systems that had impact. >> whatever it takes strong but not necessarily attacking -- >> and gathering intell.
11:27 pm
>> intell is the most important part. >> i'm for drones killing people who are bad guys that killed americans. in that mall, they attacked westerners. there were tourists there, brits. >> the pregnant woman eight months pregnant. the what was her crime? >> we have you for doing these things the question is our allies do not seem to bestepping up to the plate with amount of money and manpower we do to fight terrorism around the world. isn't the first step to get others to put in? >> i've been giving this a lot of thought. i think the reason they don't they're so weighed down because of socialist policies over the last decades, they don't have money to spend on defense. you could put the british military in a stadium.
11:28 pm
>> that's not true about germany. >> germany is not allowed to shoot. that's why i like the global war on terror. >> that's the scary part about the road we're going down with obamacare. we may lose the power we have to protect. >> we're going to defund ourselves and defund ourselves to gather intelligence and all the while -- >> we have to impeach obama. >> they make fun of us for being overworked and don't get enough vacation. they get to basically get six weeks vacation every year while we police the world. >> now on this show we realize the root care of terrorism is obamacare. >> finally bob. >> next a lot of new yorkers were happy when anthony weiner got boot ed from the mayoral race. we have information about who won. you don't want to miss what we've got about the man that may

new york is one of the few american cities left. speaking of left, take a look at detroit, chicago, oakland. lefties can clear out a town. that's new york's reality if you vote for destruction. he was once allied with mark of nicaragua and honey plooned in africa. cuba, what no antola? he was busy. he was to roll back against crime. the only thing he cares about oddly is fixing parking tickets. as the village voice left wing conceded. bill is a time machine destined to take new york back to the 70s when murder was customary.
11:35 pm
given bill's pedigree, this scares me. can we bribe a college to give him tenner to limit the damage to a faculty lounge. the only difference between he and the church hill is an earring. you know this guy. he makes you look like a tea partier. he's a comi right? >> he and i protested together a few years. >> he doesn't seem that old. >> did i hear that correctly? >> poor bob. >> i meant like way back when. >> how can that be. vietnam was over back then. >> 68 when thed>zl protests wer underway. >> deblasio is that old?
11:36 pm
>> he's gotting to close to 60 years old. >> i thought he was like my age. >> yeah right. >> i'm all for him.>> how could? this city is great. >> it's not great. have you been todrpqz brooklyn lately? >> it's great. >> really? >> yeah. they've got more whores in bretten beach. >> can i apologize to my wife now that's russian? >> he didn't say russians. >> i said the beach is run by russian mobs and they run prostitution. >> don't put the camera on me. i want no part in this. >> thank you for elaborating that. >> never mind. >> you turned this into an episode like grand theft auto. >> people move?
11:37 pm
>> in my serious research, you can talk to anyone in the top real estate agencies. people are saying they're not going to buy property here, going to sell their place get out heading for florida. they know this is going to be a bad situation. unfortunately the elect rat has forgotten what it was like before gill annie. there's a set back. it's going to be serious. we already saw impact. are you going to move yourself? i already sold my place. >> anyone around this table going to move out? >> maybe that's what they want. look, the man is a socialist. you pointed out. we already pay -- i don't live in new york and pay 4 1/2% city tax because i drive through here. >> really? >> oh yeah. >> look at dana's face. you better call your accountant. >> believe me. i know.
11:38 pm
>> to make a long story short, we have the capitalism capital of the planet. we have midtown. all industries go goes through here. he threatens that. >> it is scary when you think about the fact how the crime rate has gone down and he doesn't like it. >> like the other night i had to walk home 10:30 at night. i actually felt safe. when i went through columbus circle, i didn't like that area. if he'll open up the dog leash areas. >> self-interest right there. this is intervention for deblasio. grow up. this is a great city. >> dogs probably scared everybody walking down the street. at what age do you become an adult? don't ask bob. is it 18 or too much later?
11:39 pm
speaking of what happened to this kid yesterday on the show. >> what happened. tell me. >> it's so embarrassing. now it's not as embarrassing. >> i've seen that happen before. >> if you want dana to tell the story tomorrow, tweet her or e-mail the show. >> she's going to tell us when she controls herself. stick around is and find out. seriously.
11:44 pm
alice cooper fan. >> who knew? here's the topic. do you remember your 18th birthday when you can vote, gamble, move outí9r of your parent's house? you're an adult, but now some are challenging that number. they say you have seven years to go before you're ploegsly, hormonely a grown up. they want to change the year of maturity from 18 to 25. you can go in the military when 18. you have sex education when you're 12. you're not an adult until you're 25. >> any way. the answer to this thing is, i agree with this completely. i hormonely have not become an adult yet. secondly, i think it is true -- >> what is wrong with bob?
11:45 pm
>> you wouldn't know. >> he's the worst. >> he's the worst person. look at him. >> i want you to buy me a dress and shoes too to make me feel better. >> i can't afford it. >> eric, you have a son that's 14? >> 15. >> do you think he'll be mature by 18? >> here's the thing. it's kind of interesting. i'm not sure. what's the point. you can be tried as an adult when 17. you can't have a drink until 21. you can get shot when you're 18. >> i think they want government money for their studies. what do you think? bill on red eye, is he mature yet? >> he's not even a human being. this is a testament to grand

11:58 pm
>> you're telling this story? >> i had walked first of all the through building, all the way to 58th street having toilet paper hanging down. >> nobody told you is this. >> this lady told me. i want to thank her. that was humbling. >> the rest of us from the five don't have toilet paper. >> i see you out of that bathroom. it's stuck to the bottom of your shoe. >> shut up. >> that's not nice. i'm going to add something quick. >> that was embarrassing. we all aadmit it was embarrassing. that's in the 80s. they look delightful. >> he was there to support her film in new york this week. look at that. >> he's held up up well. >> she's 95 percent polyester.
