seems as though the ice was thawing, we have a long way to go. house republicans less the white house after a negotiating session with the president say the broader part of an agreement was taking shape. they would raise the debt ceiling the president would agree negotiating budget terms that could lead to reopening the government. it sounded like things were on track. >> if they were to send a clean debt ceiling extension, no partisan strings attached he would sign it. >> but then problems if the president was willing to deal senate majority leader harry reid was not rejecting that stage plan outright. >> republicans were clear they wanted to renegotiate. >> that's not going to happen. >> are are we back to square one? republicans are hopeful

the s&p that00 are likely have in your money market. of the stocks that make up the s&p, just 11 were lower. nasdaq rising 2 and a quarter percent yesterday. rally in a big way. you can call the reaction relief rally or optimism they will get a an agreement but investors were exhaling as they watched money on the side lines this week pour back into the market. there's a measure that shows how nervous investors have been. that fell sharply just 24-hours prior. so the rest of the world markets are following the u.s. stock market higher and our futures this morning indicate that today

secret service in capital police officers involved in last week's fatal shooting happened near the capital. they are now off the streets while the incident is being investigated. officials say they have been put on modified duty back at headquarters. marian kerry was killed after leading officers on a child chase through washington with her baby in the back seat. jurors deliberated for five days before reaching their decision. a motor corporation is not liable for the death of a california woman who was killed when her 2006 camry accelerated and crashed despite her efforts to stop. company lawyers believe the woman missed the gas pedal for the break. the suspect arrested in the road rage assault case has been indicted on the charges. officials aren't saying what the biker robert sims was charged

the three were arrested and the police were left to pick up the cash. in a few hours thousands of truckers will clog the streets in protest. they are fed up with the government and new regulations on their industry. elizabeth prann has more. >> they are calling for thousands of truck drivers to show up and block two lanes of the beltline highway around the washington district. the rally kicks off about an hour and a half from now. these protestors are taking to the airways to bring attention to what they say is government corruption particularly the lawlessness of senators who refuse to work for the american people. the web site is also calling for a number of demands such as the president's resignation untouched debt ceiling as well as global wages and lower fuel costs. they could bring the demands to
