assumptions of the battle that proved not to be true? men fought to the death to protect what was theres in little big horn and last week in washington, republicans launched a fight that was not a plan of the battle tested generals but rather a plan of the newest recruits. blame the press, the establishment, the liberals, blame one's own team the charge up the hill for a great cause but without following the counsel of jesus who admonished to count the cost before starting a war. but liberalism is not destroying the republican party. that is not liberalism. there are no republican congressional liberals. legalism, not liberalism is dividing the gop. now see what legalism does to the church. it is focusing more on how one

expresses belief than what one believes. the liberal might abandon the biblical truth but the legalist abandons biblical love. that makes the method equal to the message. the facility becomes equal to the fellowship of the church. there is artificial purity they claim is the truth. but truth is the way they do church more than the spirit with which they do it. it's a self-right shsness that focuses on self sin stead of a humble growth righteousness. for the fair sees, purity in faith is focused on external behavior. look, some people eat their soup louder than others but it doesn't mean the soup tastes

5:08 pm
after police said that their relentless bullying led to the suicide of a 12-year-old girl. one of the girl's parents could ams be charged for knowingly allowing her child to post the pullying comments online. vivian has already been charged with two counts of child abuse, bodily harm and neglect. police say this video shows her punching and screaming profanities at the two kids who were fighting. meanwhile, 17-year-old honors student and volleyball team captain wiz stripped of her role as captain and suspended for five games after she drove to pick up a friend from a party saying she was too drunk to drive.

does zero tolerance lead to zero common sense? how do parents keep up with what their kids are doing? she blogs on jenny erikson.com and richard greenburg, father of four, and author of the book "raising children that other people like to be around." great title. your youngest graduated from high school this past year this whole idea of zero tolerance, have we just gone too far with it and lost any sense of common sense? >> well, you know, my mom used to say don't be so open minded that your brain falls out. and i think that you can't look at things in such abc lutds esessentially in a situation who went to do the right thing and suddenly this authority is punishing her. that leads to a lack of confidence in the authority. the authority is behaving in a
5:10 pm
way that doesn't make sense. if you want to lead your children you have to be logical about it. and you have to understand that circumstances vary. and that black and white situations that are, you know, zero tolerance aren't helpful unless the kids understand what their purpose is and helping your friend is not the purpose of that particular policy. >> mothers against drunk driving normally pretty rational and came out and said that the school was right to suspend erin because she should have called an adult. that girl would have never called an adult. did madd go mad on this one? >> i feel that madd is absolutely in the wrong. a teen age girl at a party, had too much to drink. i think it's incredible that they called a friend. the drinking mistake is one thing. the mistake has been made. what do you do with it.
5:11 pm
not a lot of teenagers are going to call an adult when they have made a bad mistake. the friend came and got her. the friend did the right thing. we will deal with the underage drinking as another topic. >> a girl kills herself after being bullied for months. should the parents have the responsibility for the fact that their daughters had relentlessly bullied this girl for months and months on sneend? if your kids were bullying somebody, if you found out they were, how would you handle that? >> to entertain the idea that my kids would be the bully, that doesn't work because that does not follow the values. if my children were misbehaving and i found out about it, i would have to sit them down and

5:35 pm
now i wanted to make sure that there was an order to stand down so i contacted the reporter that initially reported that and that reporter told me that he personally talked with a friend of ty who was on the ground with him and there were three orders to stand down. that, not only -- probably would have saved the life of our ambassador if there had not been that delay three times. plus, the fact if ty was ordered to stand down and told not to -- that there would not be any rescue for the ambassador, there sure would not be rescue for him. >> the letter said on that tragic day, i directedly national security team to do everything responsible to respond to the ateblgts against our people. the united states government considered a range of options and deployed additional military capabilities but as our leaders have said, the military forces needed to carry out the type of

operation you describe were not close enough to have made a differen difference. do you believe that is the truth? >> that is not a correct statement. the military leaders did not -- i will say the joint chiefs of staff that there were not assets immediately available. in fact, congressman jason chafez, immediately after this happened, went to benghazi with general ham in charge of all of the area. he had control of the assets. he wanted to rescue. that's the standing order. always rescue. he received orders from above and there is only two people in the white house above him that could have contradicted the normal procedure to rescue. >> you know one of the statements that he made this is from congressman. he said i appreciate the president's response to mr. woods but i remain skeptical of the lack of military response. brave americans were struggling
5:37 pm
to stay alive while wishing for the arrival of u.s. military personnel. some forces were repositioned, none were directed towards the sound of the guns. it sounds like there is is a contradiction. the president went so far in his letter to you and i want to quote this statement. he said that please know that my actions would have been the same if the attack had been against my own family. do you believe that is, in fact, the case? obviously our audience does not. >> i asked him that question. and this is a father to father personal question from my heart. now, i don't know about him, but i know myself, i would not have checked out for seven hours as d the secretary of defense said that the president did, and not worried about it. i could not and would not have gone to sleep until i knew that every effort was made to rescue. no effort was made.
5:38 pm
i mean, for three hours after it happened, ty's body was on the tarmac and an american plane was not even sent not only to not rescue but not even to pick up his body. when he said we didn't have time to respond, how do you know? this was almost an eight hour battle. he didn't know how long it was going to last whether it was one hour, eight hours or eight days. but i have talked with a fighter pilot highly decorated who has 24 25 years experience and he says that within approximately one hour, f-16s could have hot landed in italy and could have completed their mission in benghazi with drop tanks and if their fuel was low, could have flown to the capital city of libya. so that is not correct. >> so the letter you got in response, but it never answered those basic questions that you
