earthquake last month. trees are down power is out there's widespread flooding and communication knocked out in the hardest hit areas. >> maria molina is in the weather station. >> this could be possibly one of the strongest hurricanes or typhoons. we hear the word typhoon we are not used to hearing that word across portions of the western hemisphere. it's exactly the same thing what a hurricane is. we call it different names. the storm system called a typhoon that is a cyclone across indian ocean and southern pacific ocean. this had winds of 195 miles per

hour during land fall. that would make it one of the strongest storms during land fall in any country. still a category 5 storm. it is a super typhoon and has maximum sustained winds of 165 miles per hour. that does mean you could be looking at gusts of 175 miles per hour still impacting central portions of the philippines. you did mention katrina, ainsley. i want to point out some of these winds are the strongest we have seen with some of the storm systems not during land fall but katrina saw winds of 125 miles per hour. there is extremely heavy rainfall with this possible. >> thank you so much. >> thousands are getting kicked off of insurance plans every day thanks to the obama care situation. he says i am sorry finally but

is it a little too late? they are live in washington with details. >> it was a very rare admission the president saying i am sorry. one of the focuses is on what he says is a small percentage of americans unable to keep their health insurance plan the ones that he vowed they could back in 2009. >> even though it is a small percentage of folks who may be dis disadvantaged it is scary to them. i am sorry that they are finding themselves in the situation based on assurances they got from me. >> he went on to say he has been quote burned by the web site, but in the same sentence he did say americans are the ones who are getting burned. in response to the statement lawmakers along with house speaker john boehner says quote an apology is certainly in order. what the americans want to hear is the president is going to keep his promise. that's why the house will vote to allow any one with healthcare plans they would like to keep it.

lawmakers are looking at legislation to allow people to keep their health plans the senate is introducing a bipartisan fwbill that would gi folks a break from the $95 fine from the individual mandate. the white house will continue to defend the healthcare law but has not ruled out the possibility of delaying that individual mandate. we will have to wait. >> incredible footage from a house explosion in new jersey. you can see it was blown to pieces yesterday afternoon. this is in cape may county. in a i bes rushing to the flattened structure to work and save the husband and the wife inside. >> the 'ole thing i have to do take a couple boards out of the way pulled out some insulation. it got really intense. i could sneeze it out right now. >> the couple suffered serious burns. no one else was injured.

it will feel like christmas for some people. when you look at windchill temperature at 19 degrees right now only in the 20's for chicago and 30's for places like new york city and cleveland. it is cooler in atlanta georgia 33 degree windchills than it is in the city of new york. cooler across georgia and northeast. high temperatures will be warming up across parts of texas into the 70s and 60s for many of you across the northeast 50's and 40's. maine high temperature only 38 degrees. the rain is out with that cold front. but behind it we have a cooler temperature. when cooler air goes over the great lakes we see lake-effect snow. we are seeing the bands setting up across parts of the interior northeast. not any significant accumulation expected but the snow showers will be flying around through out the day today a couple inches will be possible. maria molina live for us.
