>> the country of iran wants to be part of the world. they don't like that they're sanctioned. it clearly hurts the people of iran. but if they deny they have a nuclear program to begin with, why would they ever agree toe stop enriching uranium or making a weapon? how do we know either way? we don't get transparency with iran. >> no, and you sunt expect that you would. and you shouldn't expect what they have to say. when i worked for reagan, reagan always said trust but verify. you'd have to make sure that any arrangement, any deal with iran would have ironclad, an ironclad program to really know that they were keeping their word, so that we would be able to verify without any doubt that they were keeping their word. that's not going to be easy, i mean, you know, jamie, iran has twice as many century finals as

the united states has starbucks. that's going to be really hard to see are they closing any of them down. none of those deals talk about rolling back, closing some of those century fujs, you know, closing some of those starbucks. so i think we're a long way from getting a deal that would make any sense. now, would the united states be eager for a deal, any deal, even a bad deal? yeah. i think you saw that two weeks ago according to press reports that the united states and iran were close to a faux deal. but a bad deal is worse than no deal. because at that point, iran would have the check recovery that it really want, and it would also have nuclear weapons. and what it would do is permanently put in place the regime that is in place now and take all those people that you talked about in iran, who want a
