survival in sub zero temperatures in the mountains of nevada. a missing family, two adults and four children found alive two days after they vanished during a day out to play in the snow. well, they survived in two-days temperatures below zero by burning their spare tire around warming up rocks to avoid frostbite. the family's jeep was spotted laying upside down in the distance through binoculars. >> it just went you teup on a s embankment and tipped over. >> this community came together and helped it come to a successful conclusion. >> james glanton and his girlfriend had food and waut ten the jeem. no one had frostbite. all six are expected to be just fine. >> evacuations are lifted this morning after scary moments when an ice dam broke.

u.s. forces in guam has issued a safety alert for all p trues. this comes after they were attacked and beaten. they were teaming up with local officers to provide additional security while troops are on the eye p land. 8 people have been arrested in one of those attacks. a former actress from texas admitted sending ricin laced letters to the president. she pleaded guilty to a federal charge of possessing and producing a biological toxin. she was arrested back in june after trying to get the blame on her estranged husband. she was the one to bought the materials and produced the ricin. she faces up to 15 years in

children all found alive. two-days after they vanished during a day out playing in the snow. they were found yesterday after rescue crews honed in on a cell phone signal. that is when the family's jeep was spotted upside down in the distance through binoculars. >> it went up a slight enl bank. and flipped over. they used the overturned vehicle for shelter and warmth by burning the jeep's spare tire and warming up rocks. they had food and water there with them in the jeep. amazingly no one suffered frostbite and all six of them are expected to be just fine. >> oo the flight 216 will be delayed after being delayed a day from weather. they will look at whether the pilot relied too much after they hit a sea wall in san francisco leaving three people dead.

lake-effect snow. lake-effect snow is very localized. very few areas dealing with the snowfall. generally today we are expecting the snow to stay north of the city of syracuse and south of the city of buffalo. we have warnings in effect and we are expecting significant snowfall accumulations through the up of michigan. north of syracuse they can pick up up to three feet of snow otherwise an additional 1-2 feet of snow forecast downwind of lake ontario and also lake erie otherwise current temperatures it is bitterly cold out here. take a look at international falls. current temperature is 18 below zero. it is currently 13 below zero in duluth. factor in the wind it feels even cold ever. in minneapolis police 15 below zero. we have windchill warnings in effect and loss advisories. some of the windchills could be colder than 35 degrees below
