from medicare and medicaid services testified they didn't know who they are. they have never taken a picture of the driver's license. they don't know who they are. he then said, but they are doing a great job. this is simply, as he described, it's one good neighbor helping another good neighbor. this is the federal government at work using federal dollars. i believe on the surface of it, it is fraud at its finest. this administration is pushing it. the hearing revealed all of the issues. >> we had i.t. experts on the prap. people who said they could have built this for 5 million dollars start to finish. they also concluded, and this is what they do for a living. there was no thought for the security built into the website. still today even after the so-called fix, it still isn't a secure site.

how can the president encourage people to go on a site experts say isn't secure. >> the administration says they have made the fixes. when we had to subpoena documents as to the failures, the things not safe on launch day, we were -- they attempted to stop us in every way they could. they ordered the contractors not to turn documents over even after we subpoenaed them. they claimed it was because it was a road map for hackers. what's amazing about that is a road map for hackers, if you put the roadblocks in, the map doesn't do any good. one concern is the documents we now have show serious areas that may still be wide open to hackers or even wide open to accidental discovery. some of the flaws are so great that somebody just could end up, if you will, hacking a site.

>> they discovered 400 bugs they had to fix between the opening october 1 and the first fix. i assume there are more bug withes in there. exit question. congressman issa, would you, based on what you know about the security or lack thereof of the website and the navigators, would you recommend anybody go to the website, sign on, give personal information or is that a mistake? >> the longer somebody waits before they go on within the mandate of the law they are doing themselves a service. the site can only get better. you couldn't have gotten on day one. today i'm concerned about your

his thoughts about obamacare. when we come back, we'll talk about my heart. here is a sneak peek. >> you have been known as the steadying hand in a crisis. you are the person people want to go to in a crisis. what effect did that have on your in terms of stress? do you think that led to your heart disease in any way? >> i really don't. i know sort of the conventional wisdom is a stressful job can contribute to heart disease, and i think that's true. but i love my work. it wasn't stressful from the way i looked at it. i couldn't wait to get back to that next job. >> i love the scene in the book where you're out on the river, i think it's the snake river. cowl you tell us that story? >> yeah, i was living on batteries. i had to have power 24 hours a day because i had a pump attached to my heart keeping many alive. and i explained to him as we were getting in the boat that if i fell in, the system would short out and i was toast.

he had artificial legs because he lost both legs as a marine in afghanistan. and he said yeah, i foe whknow you mean. when i fall in, my legs get rus rusty. he was comparing the problem. >> the bypass, the stents, the implantable defibrillator that senses heart failure. the assist divice prans transplant. i'm concerned about the medical device tax of 2.3 on gross sales. how do you think that's going to stifle innovation? >> i'm very worried about it. the people who use those device s pay tax like everybody else. the government gets its claws into some forms of tax, it's an

easy thing to do. the argument being, well, we're just taking it away from the guys who manufacture it. but that's as bad as reducing the reimbursement rate for doctors hospitals you should medica medicare. you can't get people to provide health care if, in fact, they're going to lose money every time they do it. it doesn't work. it strikes me that whoever came up with that idea, i don't know, i might not even know the guy>> it wasn't a physician, i tell you what. >> it wasn't a physician or anybody that knows about the health care system. it was someone who was going to use the additional source of revenue. >> about obama care, the concept of obama care, which seems to me outdated is to take this insurance umbrella and cover everyone, all this focus on preventive services, comprehensive insurance. what about innovation that doesn't necessarily work for everyone all the time? more personalized medicine. the direction we're going in.

isn't that jeopardized by the concept of obama care? >> there's a set of regulations about what you have to have, to have the qualified insurance program. a lot of people don't want that. they're happy with something less. that ought to be their right. i don't like it when frankly, a crowd that couldn't put together a website to say they fantasticed the health care system. i don't believe it. and as we move forward here, we'll find that there are a lot of train wrecks built into that program that nobody knew about. and if they had known about it, i don't think congress would have ever passed it. i think if obama had been truthful, that you can not keep your health insurance, there's no guarantee you're going to have the same doctor, i don't think congress would have passed it. >> you're known as a very professionaler. . this is a very revealing personal book. anything about that that was difficult? >> well, there are things in there that are -- i have not

discussed publicly before we talked about the dream i had while i was heavily sedated after the device was installed. talked about the importance of family and what my family meant to me. my wife lynn had to be my nurse every single day. and i just decided along with john and my wife lynn, it was a story that needed to be told. it was an opportunity to tell a tale. 80 million americans out there with some sort of i can look at an audience and say one out of every four of them probably has some kind of heart problem or will. to know what it's liked to live with all of that, and succeed at the same time. >> thank you very much, mr. vice president. it's a great honor.

>> enjoyed it. >> and joining us now with exclusive details on that interview from the fox news medical a-team, how are you? >> good to see you. >> happy holidays. i just had a stress test. and i told you all my numbers. clean as a whistle. and my doctor says i'm not going to have a heart attack. buff it's scary for those who do have heart disease. >> he told me everything he did he told me without any fare at all. just turj and that's inspiration to the 700,000 people who have heart disease and get very sick. isn't it a lot cheaper than what the alternative of getting sick and getting treatment? >> well, men don't tend to get checked. men are the biggest problem.

we just wear it on our sleeves. we don't go to see doctors. we really should. the other killer stress. vice president cheney said he didn't consider he was under stress because he loved what he did. everyone out there, love what you do. if you love your work, you're going to do a lot better. >> i'm on the air four hours a day and people say it must be stressful. i don't know what stress means. i'm a carrier. i like to give stress to liberals. >> you love what you do and everybody out there knows it. by the way, speaking about that, he was absolutely eloquent on obama care on this interview. >> you see it for what it is. >> the medical device tax, he himself wouldn't be alive today if obama care was in place 10, 20 years ago. every time the spotlight was re, it turned green just as he got there. he got all these devices just in time. innovation may 3w squashed and he's personally concerned about it. >> you're living a good life. >> want to come bike riding with
